December 17, 201212 yr They're only going to release one set, sadly. However, if it sells well, it might become a fully fledged theme. If When it does, it'll have one advantage over other new themes; it will already have a dedicated fanbase. Have they, being CuuSoo, ever even hinted at this, though? While I would love to get news of the sets success and abundant sales and future theme, I've never heard of this being a possibility. While we wait to get our answer of the release date for this set, what would you(read everyone wanting the set) like to see? For me, I'd like to see the little APC and the ship, 2 Marines to each ship. Then either a medium sized alien ship with 3 aliens, or two stealthy flyers with 1 alien in each. I know that's a pretty healthy sized set, but I'd be willing to pay the price tag for it.
December 22, 201212 yr I'm a bit worried about this now. With MWT being pushed to the side due to Lone Ranger, could this meet the same fate due to Galaxy Squad... I know the concepts are quite different, but both are space.
December 22, 201212 yr Perhaps they could incorporate a Space Marine set into the Galaxy Squad theme?
December 22, 201212 yr Perhaps they could incorporate a Space Marine set into the Galaxy Squad theme? They are completely different, especially in terms of storyline, so that would mess up both ideas.
December 22, 201212 yr They're not completely different; in fact I think that they're very similar in that they both feature space soldiers fighting aliens. Space Marine’s aliens also do look rather “insectoid”. If Lego doesn't think it's wise to release both Space Marine and Galaxy Squad sets I see no reason that they couldn't rebrand the Space Marine sets as Galaxy Squad. They could be introduced as "heavy squad", or something to that effect. I rather get a Space Marine set released under Galaxy Squad than none at all. Edited December 22, 201212 yr by MacK
December 22, 201212 yr Eh, I've lost hope on any good ideas on CuuSoo ever being made as-is; as much as I love Space Marines, they just have no chance.
December 23, 201212 yr It's a bit of a different situation than with MWT, because that would potentially compete with a licensed theme, whereas Galaxy Squad is entirely in-house so there is no issue with third party licenses prohibiting competing sets (theoretically I suppose Star Wars might have something similar, but the existence of Galaxy Squad actually means that's less likely, since Lucasarts clearly had no problem with that - and in any case I think Lego Star Wars is now strong enough as a brand in it's own right that neither party would have concerns). I think if it were to get rejected, it would be the number of new molds potentially needed, the large number of figures present and the fact it's more of a play theme rather than the stand-alone set arrangement that Cuusoo is typically oriented around. Finger crossed it might happen, but I'm erring on the cautious side because I think it just might fall a little on the too ambitious side.
December 28, 201212 yr Hey. I am new here. I love the idea of this theme and wish the name wasn't changed. Galaxy Defenders might be a good name possibly since they are protecting their galaxy from aliens.
December 28, 201212 yr I can say for certain that GW have been aware of this project from the outset. I seem to recall saying about a year ago, or at least several months back that Space Marines were a trademarked GW thing and they are very hot on IP. Being a collector of GW/Citadel models (As well as LEGO.) I know for a fact that it was also talked about several months back on forums dedicated to GW models and games.
December 30, 201212 yr Right now I think the biggest pitfall to the project is whether Lego was spooked by Games Workshops lawyers over the whole Space Marines name thing. They will be looking much closer now to make sure there is nothing else that could stir up the Warhammer Legal team.
December 30, 201212 yr It would actually be great for me if TLG and GW could co-operate and bring out a LEGO themed Warhammer / W40K line. They could realistically do that aimed at a younger age range then the real GW target and a dumbed down version of the game easier for young children to get to grips with. But I guess it is not that likely to ever happen. Still I even as a hobbiest in both sides I hope these Space Marines/Troopers whatever don't get pulled and we do see a set released relating to these.
January 11, 201312 yr I can't wait for TLG, so I started assembling my own squad of Galaxy Marines: Just need those polybags to be released, and we'll have an army in no time!
January 12, 201312 yr So when are the result of the review of the set and the other ones that got supported enough coming. We just saw the one for the Back to the Future set so hopefully it is soon. I just want to see the figures for the first time.
January 12, 201312 yr That recent one was for the summer review. So don't expect the winter one to be done anytime soon.

I just want to see the figures for the first time. Sadly, I don't think we're going to hear anything about the results until June. January 12, 201312 yr Author Hmm. I'm personally hoping for Portal or the UCS Sandcrawler, in that order. However, I'm not holding my breath. If the current review is anything like the past one, we'll be waiting for quite some time. The review the Space gentlemen are in should take a bit less time, as there are only two projects in that phase and they're extremely different in appeal, scope, and marketability.
January 12, 201312 yr I wonder if there is some limitation to how many projects get approved per review period -? The fall 2012 projects are all pretty strong contenders, so I would hate to see the SandCrawler lose because Curiosity got produced. If the Space 'Gentlemen' (LOL) were up against Curiosity, I'm not sure who I would root for. However that would be good news for this project (seriously, Purdee Pete?? wtf???) With only 4 projects approved in 4 years, it's hard to figure out what TLG is thinking.
January 16, 201312 yr any thoughts on my names hj? quasar quest i A little more box art friendly than troopers.
January 16, 201312 yr I'm hoping for either the Curiosity Rover or Thinking with Portals. It'll probably be the Curiosity for legal reasons. Seems to me Space Marines/Troopers has no real contestants. LEGO'd have to be crazy to make Purdue Pete over Space Marines/Troopers.
January 16, 201312 yr Out of curiosity (Not the rover.) what is a Purdu Pete? Tried Google and got the LEGO version but then got links to some American looking steam engine built on a car chasis, which is nothing like the LEGO construct? Anyway, i hope which ever it is it does not knock out the Space Troopers although a Western train would be good, but are we not getting one with the Lone Rangers theme so surely that will not win? I really want these Space Troopers to get through to battle all the other factions and to get another cool alien race alongside.
