Cutty Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 (edited) It looks better than I expected but it doesn't have the "must have" factor you'd expect from exclusive sets. Well you could say that for any of the Cuusoo-voted sets so far. The two japanese predecessors to this clearly fill more of an esoteric niche demand than MC ever could. Frankly I'd never even heard of the real life inspirations for both, if it wasn't for Cuusoo. Please try to keep in mind, that most likely this is only the first step in experimenting with user generated input on a larger scale. On a more further note: There still exist personal preferences on the buyer's part. And this exclusive set clearly holds much more "must have" in it, than most other previous exclusive sets combined. Same as most others would definitely find their preferences catered to in different sets, like the new town hall exclusive for instance, that, to me, is only a glorified bulk parts opportunity. Same as other people have already stated they'd perceive this MC set as. ^^ Clearly this is a dish in and of itself. You don't like the taste? Feel free to eat elsewhere. There's plenty of choices, and MANY chose this ^^ Be well! Cutty Edited February 17, 2012 by Cutty Quote
The Crazy One Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 The price is an obstacle, but definitely one I am willing to overcome. I find this set so appealing even though it has only two exclusive elements. Lego by doing it on this scale I think have managed to capture charm and orginality, and I really hope to see more. Just going to pre order it. Quote
Ceroknight Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 It's cute..and to be honest, without the creeper and the guy, you would know it was Minecraft..it just looks like a camp scene... With the fantastic sets from many themes this summer, I doubt I'll get this one Quote

Stormer13 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Hey all im not sure if this may be in the right place or if anyone has posted about this before. But if you cast your mind back and remember that the minecraft project on Lego CUUSOO got the 10000 votes right? Well the projects went ahead and here is a link to the set. https://www.jinx.com/legominecraft I think price per piece is right 480 parts for £30 now thats a good deal and the set looks like a great display piece. So a huge round of applause and thank you to the creator of the model and we hope you make more. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 I'm sure there's a topic already. I'm closing this. Quote
chuckie8646 Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone knew when the pre orders of the LEGO Minecraft set will be full filled. I read somewhere that it would be like spring or summer. I am really excited for it to arrive. Thanks Charlie Quote

I merged it with the general discussion topic about the Minecraft Cuusoo set. In the future, please look for topics like this before creating a new topic to ask questions like this. Thanks. Quote

LEGO Family Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Anybody knows the reason why the official LEGO site doesnt have any info or sales of the minecraft product ? Being from Denmark i ( stupid as i am ) actually believed that i would be able to buy this for my son 1st of june, but my only option seems to be buying it from amazon, which i rather wont since i always buys my LEGO sets from local shops or directly from TLG. I also must say that im quite impressed with the set, having had no interest in minecraft and thought it would like a basic set with only ordinary bricks. This concept looks fine and gives one a lot of diffrent small bricks good for a lot of MOC´s. Anyhow , thanks in advance. :) Quote

LEGO Family Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 It was always stated it would only be available through specific channels, and was first only available for pre order from Curse, and now also from amazon. Oh sorry then. Never read anything about that. Then again ive never been much into minecraft, but my youngest son is and his birthday is coming up, so offcourse he should have this set. Thanks for the info though. I will have to get it from Amazon then, if no one else have better advise on how to purchase it fast for destination Denmark. Thanks again for the quick reply and info. :) Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I would hope that is not always going to be the case. OK, so only through certain channels but surely one of those channels should be the TLG website? Quote
mrklaw Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 And hopefully the continent where both Lego and minecraft were born... I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Shouldn't be a surprise that the US gets it first, even if the sets were produced in Europe (don't know if they were, just guessing) Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 (edited) I found on the cuusoo website that the sets will be available on shop.lego.com and TLG brand stores "in the summer", hope this helps for the people interested in the set. Edited May 28, 2012 by Scubacarrot Quote
Sam892 Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I just downloaded the game for Xbox and I'm addicted to it. Looking at the set in tempted to get it when it gets a wider release. Quote

mrklaw Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) Apparently this will go on sale at Lego stores in the UK from Friday, alongside the sopwith camel. Not sure if that means European Lego stores will get them on friday too. £30 though, ouch. I think that blows any idea I had of multiple sets to experiment with Edited May 30, 2012 by mrklaw Quote
just2good Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Here's a photo set of the Minecraft set on Flickr by 'mooslug'. It looks pretty nice, and I especially like the extra Steve pieces. Quote
mrklaw Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) Even oucher - £35 in the Westfield Lego store. Still bought one as I'm a big minecraft fan as are my kids. But at that price no way am I buying multiple sets to play with. 448 mostly 1x1 plates for that price is nuts. £1:$1 isn't fun. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come with cuusoo - Lego thinking they can overprice things as they'll be 'collectable' Are any of the pieces particularly rare? Might consider bricklinking another 3 sets worth, not including the custom microfigures Edited June 1, 2012 by mrklaw Quote
