Blacktron Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 The whole series of pics is labeled white, just because it was my first shooting with a white background. I've got to rename the pics. Quote
Blacktron Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 I thought about building a tank since the start of my Neo Blacktron line. I played with many ideas in my mind, collected the parts and after some weeks of building, it is ready for posting now. :-) Neo Blacktron - Zeus - Command Tank Its a mobile command center. The mysterious leader of Blacktron himself uses this tank to observe ground operations. Zeus is equipped with a twin-barreled main gun and a smaller laser gun. It offers a high grade of protection for the crew and has many devices on board for obervation, data collecting and processing and and also sensor jamming. Zeus role in ground operations is mostly very passive. It stays in the background, jamming the enemy sensors and oberserves the battle. But if it's nessesary, Zeus is an effective fighter. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Great work on the tank! The weapons look impressive and I like how easy you made it to access the interior Quote
Blacktron Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 I've added some new MOCs to my MOCPages site. It's: Scarab Crawler Elite Raven - Mech Tyrant - Mobile Weapons platform You can see more pics of them here: http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/94210 Criticism and comments are very welcome. Thanks! DraikNova Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 These are awesome, especially the mecha and the weapons platform! Quote
Scorpion Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 It's MOCs like these that make me hope that LEGO revisits Blacktron, but I know I'd be disapointed 'cause they wouldn't be half as good as yours! I especially like the scarab crawler! Keep up the good work! Quote
Mark of Falworth Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Wow! Some fantastic MOCs here! Very inspirational! Quote

It's great that you like the scarab crawler. I've received little to none positive feedback for it. Quote

It's great that you like the scarab crawler. I've received little to none positive feedback for it. I love your Blackron MOC, surely because it reminds me of when I was young during the Blacktron era The scarab is great Quote
Blacktron Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 The funny thing is, I'm building exactly the MOCs right now, that I wanted when I was about 11-12 years old. My favorite vehicle in the classic Blacktron days was the alienator. It was one of a few vehicles that had legs - not wheels, not thrusters. I always wanted mechas and spider-like crawling tanks for blacktron. It's somehow strange that I realized these visions I had about blacktron when I was a kid, more than 20 years later. But compared to the 80s, we really have better bricks right now. Articulation joints, stylish wedges and cool stickers. None of those vehicles would have been possible in the 80s. It's so much fun to experiment with all those new bricks and building techniques. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 More great blacktron MOCs! The Elite raven is great The others are excellent too Quote
DraikNova Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I've always been partial to mecha, which is why your MOCs are some of my favorites. Quote
TheRedGuy Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Reminds me of my childhood. They look like actual Blacktron sets. Quote
mephistopheles Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 I still love your creations! So cool! Quote
Apollo Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 The Elite Raven and Zeus Command Tank are inspiring. Exactly how I would have pictured the evolution of Blacktron to progress. Thank you for your continuous MoCs... they give this theme's legacy good justice. Quote
Apollo Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Thanks very much, guys. I must ask, are you planning on making an outpost or a small base to house some of these vehicles? Also, have you considered using the Chrome Power Miners helmets on your BT soldiers? It might off-set the color scheme too negatively, but it might blend with the silver torso detail; perhaps to denote officers? Quote
Blacktron Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 (edited) Thanks for your question, Apollo. No, I think I will never build a large neo blacktron base - and it must be large if it should be capable of housing some of the vehicles. I simply don't have the space for something like this. My shelves here are occupied with some classic space, Exo Force and lots of Neo Blacktron MOCs and I have no idea where to display a large playset or base. About the helmets: I loved the design of these power miner helmets from the first moment. But I wanted them in black, which isn't available from lego. So I've made a mold and casted them, which is an awful lot of work. I think the silver power miners version would be to bright for my Neo Blacktron baddies. I prefer them in black. But thanks for your suggestion. Edited September 21, 2012 by Blacktron Quote
DraikNova Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Indeed, space is the biggest problem of all when it comes to building with LEGO. Yup, only after writing it I noticed I had made a pun. Quote
