i heard that there were problems with the shirts, did you try emailing them?

i read that some people didnt get their shirts because some stores gave them out on the Skyrim release party. and the shirts are only in youth sizes, no adult

Wow, that's stupid of me. I didn't even think about emailing them, thanks for the suggestion.

Well I preordered it at the store and when I went to pick it up they didn't give me a shirt. This always happens to me when I preorder things there. I would just email them about it though.

Thanks, I think I'll email them later today

I guess this would be the place to ask this. If an item such as 4840 The Burrow and 4841 Hogwarts Express are Sold Out at Lego S@H does that mean that Lego has stopped making them? Or is it simply that they are out of stock and haven't received any sets yet in their warehouse?

I've seen both of them at Toys R Us last Friday, and I saw the 4841 Hogwarts Express at Target when I went October 30th. So I'm guessing it's simply out of stock.

The only non gryffindor or slytherin pupil released is Luna lovegood (Ravenclaw) However, they have never released minifigures with robes from ravenclaw or hufflepuff.

Part of me wishes they kept with the generic "H" shields on all the robes - just to keep simple, generic student customs as available as possible.

I've been running across discounted Quidditch sets lately, so I've been trying to invent reasons to keep buying extras. Sadly, you only need so many Gryffindor and Slytherin Q-robes. It's hard to think Lego should have cranked out more of those sets... but I do wish they could have found a way to get some Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff Q-robes out to us. Seems like they could have been worked into a really rad TRU/Argos exclusive. I'm put in mind of those alternate Spectator Stands from years back. Alas.

To be fair, even in the original Harry Potter sets, characters only had the generic Hogwarts badges if they had not yet been sorted. In fact, I think the Sorting Hat set was one of the only ones to have this torso.

That's one of my favorite torso's from the first wave. I've been buying up a lot of those from BL. I use those torsos for my raveclaw and huffelpuf students.

I found a bit of interesting information at Brickipedia. It says, under the 2012 'Themes Discountinued/Continued' section: 'The Lego Harry Potter Theme is assumed to be discontinued this year after the Lego Minifigure Book comes out.'

Just wanted to give you all a heads up abou this. But, as we've seen in the past, Brickipedia isn't always reliable

Perhaps this 'Minifigure Book' is a Character Encyclopedia, similar to the one that came out this year for SW. It would be a good 'last blast' for the them, perhaps with a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw torso in it for the exclusive minifig? This is all speculation, but you never know, even Brickipedia is right sometimes!

Yes, I agree this would be a nice hoorah for the series. And perhaps we would get lucky with an exclusive fig! I believe, according to Brickipedia the book comes out in June.

Maybe if they are really nice, they'll give use cedric and cho in uniform! But that will never happen...they never give us what we want.

And it says this book is to be called: "LEGO Harry Potter: The Characters of the Magical World" but this is not confirmed so...it may or may not be true.

In that case, they should just end it now and not come out with the book. The minifigure will be made out of cheap chinese plastic anyway. :hmpf_bad:

I observe a number of things from your post. First of all, you are one of the many AFOLs who still clings to the idea that the lower quality of early Chinese figs was anything but a temporary fluke. Secondly, you are so stubborn that, rather than having a fig of a character who has never been produced, perhaps with a slight difference in quality, you would give up any chance of that figure ever being produced. Thirdly, you obviously don't care about the very impressive supplemental guides put out by DK except for the single minifig they are packaged with.

The book may be just a rumor, but it seems clear the Harry Potter line is on its way out. Why disparage what could be LEGO's attempt at a respectful send-off?

I hate to gang up on you, Parrothead Rasmus, but Amen Lyichir.

UPDATE: I just checked Brickipedia and the bit of info saying 'Lego Harry Potter assumed to be discontinued this year after the release of the Minifigure Book', has been taken down.... how interesting, no??

Also, DK books has confirmed this minifigure book, I believe I read somewhere.

Let's PARTY!! Well maybe not yet, as I will be so disappointed if it is discontinued, but this is a good sign!

Let me rephrase my previous statement- If they do make the book, they may as well not include the figure if it is going to be made of low quality plastic. If it isn't LEGO quality, you may as well buy a MEGABLOCKS set. And I have every single LEGO DK 'visual guide' book that they've released so far. They are fantastic books.

I at least want them to keep making the current sets until I've had a chance to finish getting them all. But, I would really like it if they want back and updated some of the older sets if they wouldn't consider making some new things.

I've had many Chinese-produced figs, and not one has had any more than a slight quality difference: certainly not to the extent of clone-brand discrepancies. A very subtle discoloration is the biggest issue I've had, and that was in older Chinese-produced figs (for example, my minfigures series 2 explorer had slightly-discolored tan parts, but my series 5 zookeeper has no such issue). But I'm not going to get anywhere arguing this; the Chinese=bad trope has become too ingrained into AFOLdom by now.

It's really just the color differentiation that throws me off completely. But, this conversation doesn't belong in this thread. If they fix the color then perhaps I'll change my mind. So, that's that, and I'm sorry about this. :classic:

Well, the book can be pre-ordered on amazon.com, so I guess it's legit  (source: http://www.amazon.com/Lego-Harry-Potter-Magical-Characters/dp/0756692571/ref=sr_1_81?ie=UTF8&qid=1317319826&sr=8-81 )

It is mentioned that it includes an exclusive minifig (which shouldn't come as a surprise), but I wouldn't get my hopes up for anything fancy, it's probably going to be either Ron or Hermione. Come to think of it, the parallels between the HP and SW DK books are quite striking: we have two books per theme (one about the vehicles, places etc. and one about the minifigs) and all of them feature the main characters in festive outfits... So I bet it's going to be Ron with that silly costume he had to wear during the Yule Ball in GoF

I got really excited just then, off I went to Amazon to find I have to wait til June next year  Ah well, i've just bought myself the Star Wars one so if this one is half as good it will be worth the wait!

Yes! Ron in his gown would be fantastic. Useless, but great!

Thanks for the news Lego-Freak!

I'm not so sure though. The Hogwarts Castle is technically "Out of Stock" right now as opposed to "Sold Out for The Burrow and Hogwarts Express. Plus Hogwarts Castle is out of stock, yet you can still order it right now and it will ship in 30 days as indicated on the S@H listing. Also, the stock at TRU and Target can simply be from what they already have in their main distribution center and not necessarily new stock coming from Lego.

Has anyone heard officially what the deal is with Harry Potter sets? I have read from people on here that this is the last wave of Harry Potter sets, but was there any indication as to when they would stop making the sets?
