Just curious, has anyone tried to build the new Hogwarts Castle with the old sets? I am going to attempt but some pieces are unique or rare that this might be a fail attempt. XD

When it was announced there would be a "Battle for Hogwarts" set, I immediately thought of the first Deathly Hallows poster of Hogwarts with flames. I imagined the set was going to be of Hogwarts with missing roofs and crumbled walls. Thank goodness Lego did not do this. I don't want to display the new Hogwarts with crumbling walls LOL!

There's a thread that has all 4 Hogwarts arranged with each other. Looks quite nice, too.

Sorry, I should've been more specific, since I haven't gotten the new set yet but Lego.com had the instructions, I wanted to see if I could build the new Hogwarts with the pieces of the old one. I looked over the pieces and it looks like I could make the Great Hall only but it would be missing the windows haha!

Lego's been getting the two mixed up for years. Crabbe is the shorter, chubbier one.

No, Crabbe is the taller one with the normal hair, Goyle is the one with the flat top.

This link has photos of the knight bus and fobbiden forest. The info has not yet been posted on the first page so i will assume that it is new :classic: . Info from Brickshow.com

It's nice to see the (preliminary) actual boxes. Thanks for posting the link!

I've changed my mind, these sets seem pretty good, but LEGO is not doing a good job with this line. They have the biggest event of the decade, and they're not making a slew of sets for it, only a few at a time. These sets are some of LEGO's bestselling, they've got tho movies being released closing one of the biggest franchises in the world, and they're re making the knight bus of all things, and not capitalizing on such a huge battle as the battle of Hogwarts. I do like the details in the new Hogwarts set, and Lupin's new face, but I still hate his hair. I hope they fix Narcissa's hair, it's supposed to be mainly blonde and have dark brown, almost black on the top, and unless LEGO knows something that I don't, her hair isn't in that style either. The talking head is kinda lame.

Wow! Never thought I'd see a real Narcissa Malfoy minifig in a set 0_o...

I'm pretty happy though, now I'll have the whole Malfoy family! ^^

But the knight bus..? I'm not sure I'll event get it... The only difference to me from it's original form is the driver's minifig (which it pretty cool, by the way) but might not be worth 50$...

Well, at first I thought the same way as you, but this promotional picture seems to speak otherwise:

There's definitely more brown there than I noticed in the film. Still, the way LEGO has done it is a bit odd. It's good enough to make you go "Oh, it's Narcissa," but just like Bellatrix's face and hair it's far from actually being film accurate. As to the hair style, it's quite possible that by the point in the battle where the scene takes place her hair will not be pulled back and groomed-looking, so that hair piece might be ok.

I don't remember the Battle For Hogwarts set scene in the book. Did it appear in the move? I haven't seen them.

Makes sense to me.

That movie hasn't come out yet. The Battle for Hogwarts is basically a compilation of the entire battle that takes up a few chapters in the final book. The battle is of course split into two parts: the first stage, and then the second stage after Harry "dies" and the good guys still standing are not willing to surrender. Of course, with Goyle and Harry there you could make the case that it has to come from the initial part of the battle, but really I'd say it's just supposed to represent the entire thing.

Oh it's in the last book. (which I haven't read yet) Sorry I though it was in the third book because the set came with Lupin. My mistake.

That Battle for Hogwarts is a must buy for me. It will make a perfect addition to the 2010 Hogwarts Castle, and all those minifigs look great. Is it just me or does Neville's face look more like Goyle? The Kinght Bus also looks excellent, I'm definately going to buy that (I missed out on the last one, and Prisoner of Azakaban is my favorite of the series) I just hope that the Shrunken Head is an actual headpiece. The Forbidden Forest is just wow, two minifigs that appear in the more expensive sets, and an exclusive minifig (Oh, and Harry. :hmpf_bad:)

What is Narcissa Malfoy doing in the Forbidden Forest. Either my memory of the Deathly Hallows needs a refresher, or LEGO just shoved that minifig in that set just so they can make her a minifig.

It's definitely the one about your memory needing refreshed  . Narcissa Malfoy was a very important character in that scene, and I'm really glad to see her in LEGO form. Her hair and dress look lovely, but I'm hoping she has a nicer, more accurate face on the other side of her head.

The only major detail about these three new sets that I hope gets changed for the production versions, is Harry's outfit in the Forbidden Forest set. I can get over him wearing his school uniform in the Battle for Hogwarts set, as it is a part of the castle, and can represent scenes from pretty much all the movies, but the Forbidden Forest set is a very specific scene, and it just doesn't make sense for him to be wearing his uniform. Won't stop me from buying it, but he'll most likely be thrown into the extra pieces bin if he still has the uniform for the production set.

The Shrunken Head is actually just a 1x1 round brick, so that it's, you know, shrunken.

Is it just me or are the photos I put on the first post not coming up for anyone?

I see little blue squares with question marks in them.

Fixed plus I added in Toy Fair pictures of the 3 August sets

These are coming out in June, though, right? :sceptic: Even though the display card for the Forest said "Coming in August"...
