REALLY?! :wub: :wub: :wub:

but where did u hear that?

Also Brickipedia only listed 12 minifigs where we were told that there were 15

Im guessing there are some frm the battle of hogwarts that we havent seen :classic:

I heard it from greyface at brickset. I also think it likely. I agree that there will probably be some more minifigs that we have not seen yet.

Yess!!! I'm glad that they may be releasing more sets, three seemed like a rather small production line. How soon can we expect preliminary images of the three that we know about for sure?

Just not really sure i get the Forbidden Forest set if it is Harry, Voldemort and Narcissa. As a lego playset it makes no marketing sense.

unless they add a Giant, possibly?? Or a couple of Death Eaters.

4865 -> 15€

4866 -> 40€

4867 -> 60€

Not really surprising, those match the box sizes that were indicated in the catalogue perfectly :wink:

Any idea what the prices will be in $? I've converted those, but either the conversion thing I used is off, or it's not just a simple matter of converting it from one to the other. I keep getting the below results, which don't match up with the box sizes (unless I'm not remembering the box sizes correctly).

4865 -> $20

4866 -> $55

4867 -> $80

We were told that there would be "12-15" minifigures, so the list only having 12 in it doesn't make it incorrect or incomplete. There could very well be more than 12, but for all we know there might not be. Considering that the Forbidden Forest set and the Knight Bus set combined will have, at the most, a total of 7 minifigures, that leaves somewhere between 5 and 8 minifigures for the Battle for Hogwarts set. Considering it's size, I'm thinking it'll have closer to 5. Though the more the better. Especially if it means that the potential Ravenclaw tower will have the statue of Rowena herself. If the set could have a total of 8 minifigures in it, than this is what I hope they'll be:

-Harry Potter

-Neville Longbottom

-Pr.Sprout

-the Gray Lady

-Rowena Ravenclaw statue

-Lord Voldemort

-Bellatrix Lestrange

-Severus Snape

By the sounds of it, Hagrid should also be in the set, though Huw's comments over at Brickset have been a bit confusing on that part. Every time he mentions the Forbidden Forest set he mentions Hagrid, but in a way that doesn't confirm or deny his possible inclusion in the set.

As for the marketability of the set, I think it makes sense. Hagrid's been captured, and Harry comes to his rescue. It's not what happens in the book/movie, but I can't see them giving it an accurate bit of story to go with it. Would be one depressing Lego set, lol.

I heard there would be 2 to 3 more hp sets either at the end of 2011 or the beginning of 2012, before the theme ends.

Yes I heard that too but it could possinly be a rumor. What I heard is it Coincides with the Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 So from what I heard it could be Order Of The Phoenix sets, Half Blood Prince Sets or Deathly Hallows Sets from either part 1 or Part 2.

Personally i'm keeping my fingers crossed for either a Ministry Of Magic, Privet Drive or Shell Cottage :laugh:

4865 -> $20

4866 -> $55

4867 -> $80

That sounds more like what the prices in "Euros" would be :tongue:

Posted (edited)

@Ravenxl7: The prices in Europe are much heigher than in the USA :wink:

So the set prices should look like this in the US:

4865 -> 10-11$

4866 -> about 30$

4867 -> 60$

Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure if that was the case or not. Still, if what I remember from the box sizes is correct, than the Battle for Hogwarts set should only be about $40 (wasn't it the same size as last years Hagrid's Hut set? or am I remembering it incorrectly, lol). Although I have to say, $20 more would definitely allow for more minifigs, and considering the two towers and entrance, a fair amount of detail for the interior parts.

As for the possibility of more sets after these three, I would love to see it happen, but don't count on it. Will definitely wait for some form of confirmation. Would make sense to release a couple more sets to coincide with the second game. Maybe we could finally get an OotP Sirius minifigure and maybe even a Kreacher minifigure. Will have to wait and see.

Also, 100th post. Finally a Citizen :cry_happy:

It seems to me that Lego would be idiots not to make a few more sets beyond these three. The first batch have sold like crazy and I don't think the DH moview had as much to do with it as Lego's marketing people probably think. Harry Potter is so popular that this theme could probably continue several years beyond the last film and continue to sell like crazy.

It would definitely be awesome to see the theme continued for several more years, but I honestly can't see it happening. Harry Potter is popular, but Lego has had problems selling sets even with a new movie coming out (it's the reason OotP only got one set, and HBP didn't get any). I think part of the reason last years sets sold so well, was because the common thought was that they were going to be the last HP themed sets made. DHp1 had at least some reason behind the good sales too.

I can imagine another wave of sets being released around the same time as the second HP Lego game, but I won't be surprised if those end-up being the last sets we see. Although there is the inevitable Ultimate years 1-7 DVD release, with all the extras one could want, that could, theoretically, be big enough for Lego to make another small wave of sets...maybe. We'll just have to wait and see.

Not sure if it's been brought up or not, but seeing as there is a Star Wars advent calendar coming out this year, would it be too out of the question for a Harry Potter advent calendar to come out next year? I myself would definitely get one if ever made. Would be the perfect opportunity for them to finally make a Lego Blast-Ended Skrewt. Something roughly the size of the beetle in those new Egyptian themed sets would work.

Anyways, back to the topic at-hand, lol, I think that the sales for this years three sets will have a major affect on what, and how many, sets we get in the figure. I'll definitely be getting all three of them. Might even cut-back on my TF collecting for a short while to do so, lol.

I totally agree!!! Here are the sets i'm hoping for, based on the final 4 movies:

Shell Cottage (DHp2): Bill, Fleur, Harry, Ron, Ollivander

Cave (HBP): Harry, Dumbledore, Inferi x2

Malfoy Manor (DHp1): Bellatrix, Dobby, Harry, Hermione, Griphook, Fenrir, Luna, that other Snatcher with Fenrir...(urgh! I forgot his name!!)

Lovegood House (DHp1): Xenophilius, Hermione, Harry, random Death Eater

Exclusive set: Ministry of Magic (random movies): Umbridge, Pius, Yaxley, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dementors x2, Fudge, Scrimgeour, random wizards

How does this wish list sound?

I've been thinking of these sets and minifigs for a long time. I also want some sets from GoF, but i doubt that'll happen!

I doubt your wish list will happen at all; it's non-profitable. Besides the cave set, all the sets you mentioned are going to be big sets that cost near $90+ each; there's no chance people would be willing to pay that amount of money for 4 big sets like that.

Here's how I would edit your list:

Shell Cottage: Bill, Fleur, Harry (Size and Price = to Hagrid's Hut)

The Cave: Nothing to edit here (Same price as Dobby's Release)

Malfoy Manor: Bellatrix, Draco, Lucius, Narcissa, Wormtail, Harry (Size of Hogwarts Express)

Lovegood House: Not an important location; it won't be made; I prefer Grimmauld Place

Ministry: Perhaps not the entire Ministry; maybe certain rooms within the Ministry, for example, the Veil Room... it would be a great way to introduce minifigs such as Sirius, Remus, Tonks, Kingsley, and some Death Eaters.

And of course, Harry will still be in every set.

Well, it's good to have hope, isn't it?! I know these won't happen!! And they could totally do a lovegood house, since they made another knight bus, they could obviously make a new location!! I was going to say Grimmauld Place, but i forgot about it. What's everyones deal with Sirius, anyway?!

at the time, that Sirius looked good and fit in with the line, remember PoA had fleshies but no new faces of the main cast. I really think they are gonna see how the sales are for these 3 new sets and then they will go from there. I think they have concepts for future sets but the will not go through with it until sales.

I like the idea of sets being released with Years 5-7 and then it being complete and done.

Is there a certain release date for Years 5-7? Or is it just speculation?

speculation, but 1-4 is a popular game. if they made a sequel to include Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for another Indiana Jones game then they must make a years 5-7. They may even pull a Star Wars and do Harry Potter 1-7 (Or some fancy name)

Yeah, i agree. If the 3 new sets and the new video game are good, they'll be more sets in the future!!

Remember that practically all of the new sets released have roles in more than one movie.

The Burrow:

Chamber of Secrets (Harry's first vacation at the Burrow)

Half-Blood Prince (Burrow attack)

Deathly Hallows (the Wedding)

...and some minor roles in other movies.

Hogwarts:

obvious I think :).

Hogwarts Express:

all movies actually, but especially

Philosopher's Stone (Harry's first ride)

Chamber of Secrets (Car chase)

Prisoner of Azkaban (Dementor attack)

Half-Blood Prince (Malfoy confrontation)

Hagrid's Hut:

Philosopher's Stone

Chamber of Secrets (Hagrid gets sent away, Harry and Ron encounter Aragog which is included in the set)

Prisoner of Azkaban (Care for Magical Creatures lessons, execution of Buckbeak)

Half-Blood Prince (Aragog's death, Slughorn getting drunk, attack on the hut)

Quidditch Match:

practically every movie in which Quidditch is played, which are...

Philosopher's Stone (The new seeker, Oliver Wood)

Chamber of Secrets (Draco as the new seeker, Mad Bludger by Dobby)

Prisoner of Azkaban (Dementor encounter)

Half-Blood Prince (new team)

Diagon Alley:

Philosopher's Stone (Harry's first encounter with the wizarding world)

Chamber of Secrets (Harry lets lost in Nocturne Alley)

Half-Blood Prince (Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes (or what's it called?) and Draco detour to Borgin and Burkes)

Only Dobby's release doesn't really fit in this, but I think it's done for a new Dobby minifig.

Forbidden Forest:

probably depicts scene from Deathly Hallows, but also appears in Philosophers Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Order of the Phoenix and some minor appearances in other movies.

Battle of Hogwarts:

Obviously only Deathly Hallows.

Knight Bus:

Obviously only Prisoner of Azkaban.

So not all sets appear in more than one movie, but quite a lot do. Some locations or scenes that appear in more movies and that could be made in sets are...

Grimmauld Place 12:

Order of the Phoenix

Deathly Hallows

+ minifig Sirius & Kreacher

Whomping Willow:

Chamber of Secrets (Ford Anglia landing)

Prisoner of Azkaban (tunnel to Shrieking Shack and Lupins tranformation)

And some minor appearances in other movies.

I'd also love to see some Hogsmeade buildings. The best would be a Diagon Alley-like set (although it would be too expensive for me), but some possibilites are...

Three Broomsticks (great potential I think, but would be pretty big...)

Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry spying on the teachers)

Half-Blood Prince (Katie Bell attack)

and other minor appearances.

Hog's Head

Order of the Phoenix (DA gathering)

Deathly Hallows (Aberforth rescue)

Zonko's, Honeydukes, etc...

And of course there are a lot of places inside of Hogwarts which can be made into a set. For example the Defence against the Dark Arts classroom and the Chamber of Secrets (since it also makes an appearance in DH2 with Ron and Hermione).

Anyway, I hope they really expand this line until they've made all good sets possible, but of course not pushing it too far.

I think the only reason that the Knight bus was made was due to it being a vehicle and Lego love making vehicles. (Just look at the Atlantis and Pharaohs quest, not to mention SW. I agree that for a building to be made it has to be in one or more movies or be a scene of particular action.

For this reason I hope they will consider a ministry playset. It's one of the most action packed locations!

I think the next 3 sets could be related to the final film:-

Dragon escape from Gringotts (with Helgas cup?)

Room of requirement (Harry, Ron/Hermione plus Malfoy Crabbe/Goyle and may be The Rowena Ravenclaw bust)

The Cave (Harry, Dumbledore, 2 inferri)

The reason i say all of these is that we could end up with all the horcruxes. They are also scenes of great action and contain the main characters. Dumbledore needs to be available in a cheaper set for kids too i think.

These are likely....except for the room of requirement. If there is a RoR set, it won't come with Crabbe/Goyle, as the actors who played them didn't return for the final movie. Or at least one of them didn't. I hope there's at least a set with umbridge, (i missed the one she first came in!), a Trelawney, a Tonks, a Lupin, and a Kingsley.

Which is why I suggest the Veil Room in the Department of Mysteries. It was a big part of Harry's life to lose Sirius like that; and the set can come with all those minifigs.

Of course; they can just make a set called "The Advanced Guard", and they can include all the figs that people are dreaming for.

So does everyone think that Ron nor Hermione are going to be included in the Battle of Hogwarts? I would like a Hermione in a new outfit, maybe her hair up as seen in some of the pics from part 2
