10or Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) i keep checking LEGO that the sets don't go into backorder, i really want them even more after reading the reviews on them and the continuation of the line would be awesome, i just dont know where i would put the new sets, i have an entire bookcase devoted to the sets Edited May 24, 2011 by 10or Quote
tj19941994 Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 has anyone gotten Hogwarts yet? And does anyone know when Aussies can expect to see the sets on store shelves? Quote
Clone OPatra Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 has anyone gotten Hogwarts yet? I ordered it and got a confirmation of my order shipping some days ago, so I expect to see it very soon, hopefully. Once it arrives, I will of course tell everyone about it pronto in a review. Quote
Miss Kyle Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Still no sign of the new sets on the German S@H page. Gaah, I don't want to buy them in the UK, I don't have enough space in my suitcase! Quote
Yope Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I just spent most of my money on Diagon Alley so it'll be a while before I can get any of the new sets. Personally I am most excited about 4867 Hogwarts (I have always wanted a Proffesor Sprout!), I just wish it was more fully decorated inside. This is slightly off topic, does anyone else think there could be nothing better than a Harry Potter advent calender, with plenty of exclusive minifigs and details to add to our Hogwarts castles? That would be amazing! Quote

That would be amazing! I have never thought about that before, but YES!!! That would be amazing! Especially since cjristmas has always played a big role in the books/films. Although saying that, I am sure it is impossible for us to get one this year, and a large part of me feels the line will be dead and buried by next christmas, even though I believe it could become the next star wars. Yope Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) Good points, I just think it would be an extraordinarily successful set for LEGO to release. Sometimes I think they fail to cash in on their audiences, the HP franchise has been one of their most successful and yet it always seems to be just one step from being discontinued. Oh well, I guess I'm just going to have to keep my fingers crossed for an advent calendar! Edited May 24, 2011 by Yope Quote
Fives Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 An advent calender would be great! Imagine a little wizard's chess board like the one that Harry and Ron play in the first film, with the trophy piece from the collectable minifig series as the chess pieces! I was also thinking, if they continued with this theme for maybe one more wave, it would be nice if they did a new version of Umbridge. I wish I had got the first version, but now by the standards of figs these day, they could do such a better one now! They could make the courtroom scene from the Deathly Hallows Part one. Minifigs could be Umbridge, with the locket printed on her torso, harry with a double sided head to look like the guy he used the polyjuice potion to become (I don't know his name), a couple of dementors with no hoods, and maybe Ron, with the same head idea as Harry. You would get the big chair that Umbridge sits in, the other chair, and maybe the elevator with a working door. It would make a cool set. Quote
Ceroknight Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 This is getting kinda off-topic, but one more, How about Lego Harry Potter Christmas Crackers? They had a part in the series and they won't be as expensive as an advent calender.. Quote

And I mean, it isn't really any different from saying which sets we would like, is it? Has LEGO ever does christmas crackers before? It's a great idea, I just didn't know they had ever done it before. I still think a advent calendar with Hermione and Harry in winter clothes, Ron in one of those jumpers which Molly makes, a big table like the one in the burrow, lots of christmas-y foods, little Hogsmede stalls, the invisibility cloak, maybe a santa Dobby! O the things you can think! Quote

That would be amazing! A Xmas calendar would be great! It made me think and the result is: 8 minifigs: Harry in jumper made by Molly Weasley (maybe dragon pattern) Ron in jumper made by Molly Weasley Hermione in winter outfit Dumbledore – dressed as Santa Dobby – dressed as Xmas elf Ginny – dressed as angel Dolohov Barty Crouch Jr. 8 items: Birdcage with Hedvig Shelf with potions Mirror of Erised Cauldron with fire under it Pensieve Closet with 2 brooms in it Goblet of Fire Table with Xmas sweets 8 microscale things: Hogwarts express locomotive Hogwarts express car Carriage, and… visible(!) threstal Arthur Weasle’s flying car Durmstrang ship Buckbeak whomping willow Quote

10or Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) Got the book and.. it shows a concept of what i believe is Malfoy Manor. It has Harry, Hermione, Narcissa, Bellatrix and an unknown. I hope this means a continuation! Edited May 26, 2011 by 10or Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Now that would make a great.....no....AWESOME set IF Lego did it. I wonder how hard it would be to scratch-build from that drawing eh ? Keep on casting spells ! Quote

CMP Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 That "unknown" would be Scabior the snatcher, a character I would really love to have. Heck, I'd settle for Greyback. A facade and some figs. Hopefully there'd be at least 1 or 2 piecs of 3-d furniture, but it's an interesting idea. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Heck, I'd settle for Greyback. No! Not again; we need new figures! Although, Greyback fits perfectly into the scene, so it would be quite plausible. I highly doubt that LEGO will release a Malfoy Manor set though. Based on their current trend, they try for most of their sets to be representative of multiple films, and Malfoy Manor would be just one. The smallest sets and the Knight Bus do speak a little bit otherwise, but I still would think Malfoy Manor is too film-specific for LEGO's liking. Quote

Also, from the looks of that pic, there is (possibly) only one new fig in that set. It would be better if it had Draco in his black Death Eater suit. Also, did anyone else notice that Lucius, first of all, has a wand, and secondly, is fighting his wife? EDIT: I know that this isn't a 'I wish for' topic, but I just thought of another great set. If the theme continued and they did another set like the Diagon Alley set, they could make a big Grimauld place set! Figs could be Harry, Ron, Hermione, Sirius, Alastor, and maybe Tonks and Lupin. 10or Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I think that the next "Diagon Alley" exclusive set would be the Ministry of Magic rather than Grimmauld Place, Grimmauld should be around the size/price of the Burrow. About the book, I wish there was more info about previous designs, work in progress from the other sets and such and featured the 3 new sets that were being released. Sadly this book is already outdated Also keeping my "exclusive Harry" with the book, nothing exciting about it. Quote
