lightningtiger Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 (edited) 'Oky Wan' might be right, since when has Hollywood ever followed how a book ends eh ? Oh, by the way in the new Lego catalogue it claims (well, we could guess anyway) that Hogwarts joins Hogwarts Castle....now that might help Lego's overall sales for this theme. 10or Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 They changed a bit.. I was one of those people who read the reviews from the early screening they had for part 2. Quote
Ultron Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I agree. Although the figures are excellent, the set should be about the set. I actually think they may have changed the ending. In the trailer Eskallon posted in the thread about the film (Culture & Multimedia), Harry and Voldemort jump off a bridge into a seemingly bottomless pit . It could be related to something in the book though, we'll see when the film's released. Sorry about the off topic-ness! Well, really, the ending of the book/movie will be the epilogue so I'm not sure how they could have changed that scene. Yes, they jump off of the bridge but that's not the end of the movie it's just a scene from the battle. And besides, Voldemort can fly so...we'll see how that will turn out. Quote

Okay, I'm going to shift this back to discussion of the LEGO sets. Harry does jump off a bridge with Voldemort, but he apparates them away before they hit the ground. Also, they did film the epilogue. Now please try to keep the discussion to the actual sets, and try not to stray off topic! ~tin7_creations Quote
10or Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Nice! Just got an extra Neville and 2 Fred/George heads from LEGO. Cheaper than BrickLink Quote
RubeusHagrid Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Nice! Just got an extra Neville and 2 Fred/George heads from LEGO. Cheaper than BrickLink How? I would also like to inform you that due to our strict agreement with our licensing partners, we are not allowed to sell any licensed LEGO parts, like LEGO Star Wars mini figures. Quote
10or Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I contacted them about getting extras and that I was willing to pay. So they asked me for my proof of purchase numbers for the sets and my credit card info and are sending them Quote
commanderneyo Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 Received the Lego Harry Potter: Building The Magical World" book and 4865 "The Forbidden Forest" from Amazon today. The Harry in dress robes and Narcissa figures are very nice Quote
Clone OPatra Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Final Harry Potter trailer What makes you say that? I'm sure there will be a whole set of TV Spots. Also, this is probably the sort of thing that technically should be in Culture and Multimedia. Quote
10or Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 (edited) thats what it is posted as everywhere, plus this is where a lot of Harry Potter fans visit so thats why i posted it, plus 2 sets are based off the film PLUS: it shows Harry in his robes during his confrontation with Snape Edited June 17, 2011 by 10or Quote
Special K Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 The Lego Trailer and the last film trailer are both great! Anyone seen this? They've added are of the 2011 mini-figs and fixed up Filch and McGonagall etc. Looks great. A poster would be nice. Quote

As for the sets, they're great, but I wish there was a Tonks minifigure in set 4867 (Hogwarts). Quote

cs38135 Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 They spelled lucius and ollivander wrong.. I hate it when they do that. They called Norbert "Nortbert" on the description for Hagrid's Hut on Lego.com, too. Quote
Derek Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I prefer 2004's Lupin to 2011's I love everything about the new Lupin except the hair...they should have given him the standard male "tousled" hair in Reddish Brown (which I'm surprised we haven't gotten yet...) -Derek Quote

The Flying Dutchman Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I've been thinking of using the Ice Dragon of the Ninjago set 2260 as the dragon for the escape from the dungeons of Gringotts. What do you think? Quote
Aanchir Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I've been thinking of using the Ice Dragon of the Ninjago set 2260 as the dragon for the escape from the dungeons of Gringotts. What do you think? Depends. It's really heavily stylized compared to other creatures and scenes from the Harry Potter theme, but if you're OK with that then it's entirely up to you. It should also be considered that the dragon might be more familiar to other people if you were to make a dragon based on the one in the upcoming final movie rather than using a pre-designed LEGO dragon. Ninjago's four dragons are a great place to look for inspiration in any event-- I personally love their wing designs. And they manage to feel a lot more like regular LEGO animals than the Technic-intensive dragons from the Vikings theme. Quote

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this You are completely right: a few adaptations should be necessary... And they manage to feel a lot more like regular LEGO animals than the Technic-intensive dragons from the Vikings theme. I can't agree more on this: although they were quite interesting builds, I always found them Technic-lego-caly out of place/time. My first association with the IceDragon was being it a white dragon it could come in handy for the escape form Gringotts scene. Quote
