iangreig Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 The Lego store in Milton Keynes, UK, has got the new City & Designer sets in now, excluding the new X-Pods. I picked up a couple of the sets today, including the new Police Station, the one with one of the new light-up figures. I've posted a desciption & some photos of the fig over at the temporary FBTB site ... http://repoort.proboards43.com/index.cgi?b...&num=1105222682 Ian.
The Middleman Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 You've got shocks... pegs... Lucky! I'll be ordering the Police Collection off S@H on the 12th. Could you give a detailed review of the Station? I'm very interested in it. Take some pics of the back and cell, especially! :D
iangreig Posted January 9, 2005 Author Posted January 9, 2005 I haven't built it yet, and may not get around to doing it for a couple of weeks, sorry ! I only picked it up today to take advantage of the "double rewards" offer that the Lego stores in the UK are running at the moment as part of their loyalty card cheme - the offer finishes next weekend (back to
jonfett Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 Thanks for sharing the pics Ian. I bet that someone will try to open up the torso, as it looks like you could cut the back panel open with a blade. Is it just me or is the arm with torch in longer? It may just be that it has the torch in which makes it look longer, but I cannot tell. Anyway, it looks very good and I can't wait to see the SW ones. Jon.

There are a couple of ways to open him up using force - I haven't quite got myself into the frame of mind to do that yet ! The arms look to be exactly the same length; I think it might be the lack of the narrower 'wrist' that makes the new one look longer.
LegoVervoerBouwer Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 The new 2005 sets are cool. I'm new on Eurobricks and i am Dutch , also i am member of LOWLUG the Lego User Group of the Lowlands. (www.lowlug.nl). Know anybody of there come more new 2005 sets?
LegoVervoerBouwer Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 The new city sets are available in the Netherlands by Intertoys. I have buy it an the pieces are really cool.
The Middleman Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Do you have pictures of the Police Station? If not, could you take some?
Vader Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Well that police fig dosent look to bad to me, alot better than what i was expecting.
Orlego Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 It is just odd that half of the object is part of the hand, I guess it will be the same with the SW sets.
Vader Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 I would imagaine so which is a shame still there better than those nba figs *sick*
Jipay Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Here all the NBA figs are on sale. I still don't want to buy those :-D
Mini Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 I got the new Police Motorcycle (x2), Prisoner Transport, Mini Digger and the Fire Engine delivered today that I ordered from S@H earlier in the week. I have to say these sets are a wild improvement over the past few years releases. I especially like the motorbikes in particular and the fact they come with both 'Police' and 'Polizei' decals. Gonna go pick up the Police Station at the weekend I think from the Lego store in Birmingham.
The Middleman Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 I'm getting the Police Collection tomorrow if anyone's interested in reviews. Mini, I heard the motorcycles were out of proportion with the other sets, is that true?
Mini Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 They're a lot bigger than the old motorcycles, but I don't think it really makes any difference. They look great (hugely better than the trikes). I have mine escorting the prisoner van down the main street, and they don't look out of place. I'm probably going to pick up at least a couple more of the motorcycles and do some custom racing bikes.
The Middleman Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Thanks man, I hope you're right! :D *can't wait for tomorrow*
ApophisV Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 I'm getting the Police Collection tomorrow if anyone's interested in reviews. Ehh..... ME!!! ME!!! ME!!! If you like to I could post your reviews in the review section of the main page!
LegoVervoerBouwer Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 in set 7237: and and this is really cool , wow
ApophisV Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Poor guy.... Looks like Frankenstein took him apart.... :D
jonfett Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 No, not Frankenstein.. just that mad scientist Ian Greig! :P Jon.
Jipay Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 I saw this on the fbtb temporray forum, and it is a great news ! Battery replacement is possible, this is great !
Vader Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Thats good news, it would be really bad if we were not able to change them :)
The Middleman Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 All right, Apophis, if you're interested, I should get the sets in a few hours (cross your fingers - I got them on overnight!) which means I can probably get reviews up by 8PM EST.
Jipay Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 We are. make a review and we add it to the review database :)
