The horse remains 'stuckified'.

"wait a minute!!! Did I ever actually open the door?"

OOC: Just being specific and thinking outside the box, like you asked!

OOC: There is a way to get it out, right Doc?

QM Note:

Of course. You can knock out parts of the wall around the door, dealing 1 Damage to whichever part of the fort you're stuck in, or you can use magic. :sweet:

Alex goes out and digs small holes. He puts one fire bomb in front of the gate way, and another in a hole in front of the East wall. So when the elves fill up the battering rams with dirt, the fire bomb goes with it, and when the ram slams into the wall, the bomb would ignite. Perfect. (NOTE: the bombs are away from the forest.)

You bury the bombs in the ground in from of the Gatehouse and East Wall, though you realize that it's more likely that they'd just blow up when someone walked on the ground near them.

You realize that your Horse is stuck in the door frame. Of course it's open.

"Fine then!" Althior walks over to wherever the horse is stuck, and uses his Garnet to stretch the walls for about three seconds as he gets the horse out.

Althior sits around, thinking. HE first wonders something aloud. "What ever happened to Sir Lawrence?" His memory drifts back to that fateful night at the Emorith household.

He stepped back a bit from the Orc, watching the tattooed one hold an axe to his sisters neck. He dipped his hand into his pocket, ready to kill the Orc with his Amethyst. This was no random attack, he could see that. The hallways had been smoked and set aflame, and with the defenses all around the house, they had been apparently planning this for weeks. He pulled it out as Grof advanced, knocking it out of his hand. Althior raised his wand high, ready to strike. Grof rebounded from knocking the Gem out of his hand, bringing the butt of the sword full force into Althior's head. Althior fell back, slipping into darkness. He started to black out as he heard the Orc say; "Leave them! We've got more important things to worry about!" He slipped from that world he knew so well into the completely unknown darkness of his mind.

He came back to present day. He knew that what had happened next had changed his life forever...

OOC: Want to know what happened? Find out when I get off of my lazy butt!

William sits/stands next to Althior, brooding darkly. "We need more defences on the weaker sides. Can we build shields or pikes for us to lance people on horseback? Althior, I can feel you are thinking about something not related to our quest. Is there a problem?"

Posted

"Great Idea William! I'll see if I can make- you know- any use of it. Heh, yeah..." Althior wanders off, purposely not answering William's question. "Cook! You wouldn't happen to have any firewood for that fireplace, would you? We may need some of it..."

:oh: Woops, be careful guys...

And we have stakes in front of the Storage Lean-to and the North wall correct? And where do we have the oil and water and rock pour things? Alexandre recalls this information.

Xander begins to place several stakes into the ground near the East Wall, taking extra precaution to avoid the fresh holes in the ground where some dummy Alex had placed the bombs.

You recall that stakes have been placed in front of the West Wall and the South-East Wall, and that the cauldron mechanisms have not been set up yet.

Xander begins to place several stakes into the ground near the East Wall, taking extra precaution to avoid the fresh holes in the ground where some dummy Alex had placed the bombs.

You place stakes in the ground near the East Wall, and since you are specifically careful, you don't get blown up. However, because the East Wall, like the West Wall, is so large, you are too tired to complete the job yourself. Someone else will have to help you finish placing stakes. If they do not, siege weapons will have to take an extra Turn maneuvering around the stakes before they can reach the wall, instead of being prevented from reaching the wall.

"Alright, do you Lion Knights have any iron or metal I can work with?" William knew something was wrong and calls a bird to follow Althior.

ava-pikeman.png

"Not really. You could try melting down some of the weapons or nails, but you don't have the right equipment to do so."

You call out a wild chicken, which runs around and annoys Althior. But, mostly, it just tries to peck Finnegan.

OOC: I was gonna save this to use against Heroes in the future Quests I plan to host, but since we're in need and we actually have the materials for a VERY nerfed version...

Arthur stares tiredly into the distance. Suddenly, he becomes highly animated, and runs back downstairs. He finds a felled tree (I think we cut down a few earlier...) and cuts a wide slice off the trunk (i.e. this part in brown). He then cuts off a second slice, but makes this one thinner and pares it down so it's only a fraction of the size of the big "wheel". He cuts a groove in this smaller piece and nails it to the center of the top of the big "wheel". He cores a small hole in the center of the wheel assembly and attaches it to an axle (stake), using pins through the stake to keep it in place even when it rotates. He fashions a base out of planks, with places for stakes to secure it to the ground. Next, he cuts four small pieces of rope and firmly attaches them to the outside of the "wheel" (note: these put into the pin holes of the wheel with a 1x1 plate on the end folloed by 1 or two of these is the best LEGO solution I can come up with). Finally, he looks for four old, unused, or even broken swords; if he can't find them, he instead sharpens the edges of planks to substitute. He prepares a similar assembly but only half the height, without the swords, and with the other half of the "axle" attached to the outside of the wheel as a handle.

"There! Once we decide where to put it, we use this rope I've reserved and tied into a loop to act as a belt between the crank and the device. A fella I met in Eternia--I think that was the name of the place--showed me one of these once. It's called a Slice and Dice--its WP is very low to start with, since the blades are spinning slowly, but after a few rounds of continuous use, it'll get pretty powerful! A well-constructed (OOC: read: sold for a high price/used by enemy NPCs) one would actually be Hastened after a few rounds of continuous use, but I highly doubt my feeble imitation will do that well. Oh, there's some other safety information, let me PM the QM to see if he thinks it needs more limitations or if it's OK as-is find that parchment the Squire wrote that on..."

"Oh, and another thing: this crank business is non-standard, so that's another reason it'd be weak; a properly-constructed one of these is usually made of stone and metal, is a lot tougher and more dangerous, and runs off its own power supply, likely some magical or alchemical fuel--the Squire refused to tell me the full details since I'm not a Knight."

OOC: Yeah, if I'm going to try to improvise one, I might as well give more information out so QMs can use it to massacre Heroes in their Quests.

"AGHH!!! CHICKEN!!! BWAH!!!!" :sing:

" Alright! Quit your whining! I swear, I'm the only sane person around here. :hmpf:" Althior attempts to shoo the chicken away, but it stays put.

"Hey, I resent that!", Spag remarked, as he span around watching the leaves of his head move.

"Do you all see my point?"

"Alright, I cut some wood to make it a circle and some poles. Althior, can you use your Ruby to light a fire and melt some iron?"

You realize that you never specified where the iron would come from or how it would be contained in its liquid form.
Posted

"Cook! Can I have some pots? I'll melt them all down except for one to contain the melted iron. And do you have any leather?"

ava-cook.png

"Sure, but you do realize that you're going to melt a substance and then use a container of that same substance to contain it, right? And, no, I don't have any leather."

Posted

"Then do you have a cauldron? And leather gloves?" After asking this, William calls back the chicken and walks up to Althior, "To tell the truth, I sorta know what happened after you talked to Arthur, you kinda gave it away the way you treat the locket. "

Posted

"Then do you have a cauldron? And leather gloves?"

ava-cook.png

"Yes, but we make our cauldrons and pots from the same metal."

One of the soldiers in the kitchen hands you a pair of leather gloves.

QM Note:

Since you're already using magic, you could use K-nut's Garnet to hollow out a rock or something to hold the molten metal.
