Count Knyghton moves noticeably away from William, so as to better avoid the imminent Smiting. :tongue:

William notices and turns to face the Count, his attempt to avoid smiting is clearly displayed. "Smite Good Lion Knight Count!!" Alas, William is no paladin and it fails. :tongue:

"I think we got ev'rything set up, now all we can do is ta wait for tha Elves ta get here. We've split the torches among various Heroes, we've put the nets by the only thing that could logically launch them--the onager, we placed the bear traps at the time we made them (OOC: since K-nut didn't object at that time, two at the base of the West wall, one at the island side of the bridge launcher, and one in the middle of the island), and likewise with the spiked barricades (OOC: North wall, I believe, unless Posades says we should put them elsewhere). Master Delvergrow stated he built the skeleton traps on the Westmost bank of the river, and as a final preparation I'll tie a rope off the Northwest tower to the top of the West wall to reduce transit time. I think we've done all we can, and now is the time to fight!"

(OOC: The spike vine goes from the ground to the Northwest tower, unless it would take more than one turn to climb, in which case it can stay on the West wall. The rope between NW tower and West wall stays either way.)

OOC: I was thinking Isabella could operate the Polybolos and Slice N Dice (remember, they're linked to the same crank) and Arasmyth could run the Hiyaaaaaa Hwacha until it's out of ammo, then move to the Onager.

"Righ', I'm thinkin' tha' Mistress Isabella ought ta take the Polybolos and Slice N Dice (since they're interconnected), and Master Arasmyth can set off tha final two rounds o' tha Hiyaaaaaa Hwacha and then move to tha onager. Master Arthur, when he awakes, can start off with tha Onager, and he'll retreat to the Northwest Tower when Arasmyth moves. Also, I'll take tha Halberd unless anyone else wants it, jus' in case."

Xander looked on from a distance, perched on the ledge of a fortress wall. He felt no need to involve himself in matters of training or siege-operation delegation; the people currently undertaking these tasks were doing a commendable job. The tribe that had adopted him had taught Xander many things, but leadership was not one of them. He was truly only comfortable alone in his thoughts, or swinging a weapon; one was currently being satisfied -- the other, he thought to himself, would soon follow.

OOC: Yes I've been internet-less for a while, sorry. :tongue: I've been checking in periodically with my phone and you guys are doing great! :thumbup:

That's fine. I haven't exactly been that active myself. The weather is again failing me, so I'm rebuilding the sets so that they're look good if I take them in a night setting with a black backdrop instead of white or green.

Count Knyghton idly looks through Arthur's Telescope. Having a burst of inspiration of his own, he flips the telescope around and uses the fading sunlight to try and light a torch by focusing the light through the telescope...until he hears soft snickering from behind him--one of the Pikemen. Feeling foolish, and remembering Arthur's earlier concern, he cleans up the mess and sweeps the forest looking for Finnegan while he waits for the battle to start.

I think I got this right. Any changes? Since you've got all those Pikemen massed on the East Wall, I assumed you'd want more heroes to the west.

Arthur wakes up with a yawn, and hears the distant rumble of the approaching troops. He jumps up, retrieves his stuff from Count Knyghton, and heads for his position atop the West wall. Suddenly, he does a double-take. "Hey! Isabella has a crossbow, she should be up here, while Alexandre should take her place down below." He dashes off a quick note to De'kra--This is it. Stay strong, brother, and may we meet again soon, if not in this world, than in another. With that, he readies his staff and gemstones and prepares for battle.

OOC: Looks good to me, aside from my stupid tactical blunder. :facepalm:

I'm going to assume Althior can post again, so...

Althior yawned as he got up from his bedroll. He began to speak, "Welcome to have you aboard Mr. Delvergrow! Isabella, would you be so kind as to destroy that Bridge thingy-majiger with the Polybolos?" Althior takes a chug of his Tonic. "I'm ready," He grabbed his locket with the picture of Alexis. He couldn't wait to see her again.

OOC: Check a few posts back, anyhow, we don't want to destroy the bridge because it's booby-trapped. Isabella should take Alexandre's place on the wall, while Alexandre should take Isabella's place operating the Slice N Dice and the Polybolos.

IC:

Count Knyghton races up to Arthur and whispers something in his ear. Arthur nods and races to operate the Onager until Arasmyth needs it.

Night begins to fall and, almost as if on cue, as the sun dips below the horizon, you see three elves emerge from the forest. You notice that the elf on the left has a tattered cloak and the worn equipment of a warrior who has seen much action. You see the elf on the right is old and wizened, more so than any elf should be, and you notice from his staff that he is a practitioner of the darker magics. You look at the elf in the center, who you see wears armor that has been polished to a shine, but you're gazing at his face, which bears an expression that no hero, especially you, Xander, will ever forget.

"Damnation! Alright, everyone who can, target the Infiltrators, but not their leader, see if we can take them down before they get inside. Those of us who can't, target their Necromancer (oh, and dibs on that staff, I'll trade my current weapon for it if needed), and Arasmyth can of course target all the Western elves to avoid free hits. If we can take out the Necromancer first, we'll have a better shot at surviving this." Putting action to his words, he targets the Necromancer with his Onager, using small stones to spread damage.

"Aye, Master Arthur! I'll repair anythin' that needs fixin', an' if there's nothin' ta be fixed, I'll attack tha weakest opponent with my Spatha from tha back row."
