Orejon8 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 A stronghold of ancient magic... Set Title: Mysteries of Hogwarts. Set #: 4847. Theme: Harry Potter. Pieces: 1135. Minifigures: Harry Potter (Gryffindor uniform), Cedric Diggory (Hufflepuff uniform), Cho Chang (Ravenclaw uniform), Sybill Trelawney (updated), Madam Pomfrey (like this), Professor Slughorn, Professor Snape, Lord Voldemort, Dementor. Year of Release: 2012 (summer). Price at Release: USD $114,99. - First building - The Boathouse. Notes: this building is inspired by the real boathouse from HP 7.2 (compare here). Also, the 1x4 plates under the brown archs are supposed to attached to them, creating a simple bridge. - Second Building - The Greenhouse. Notes: the design of this building is not based in anything from the film. The black panel has printed some theory about the handling of mandrakes and the sand green heads have printed mandrakes heads. These plants are, from left to right: a Venomous Tentacula, two Mandrakes and a Puffapod. - Third Building - Hogwarts Towers. Notes: the yellow banners have stickers with Hogwarts coat of arms, the window panel in the Prefect's bathroom has a transparent sticker with a mermaid (like this), the little dark blue banner in Ravenclaw's tower has a sticker with Ravenclaw's symbol, there's supposed to be two books in Ravenclaw's common room, and the bun in Rowena's bust is a substitute for this and this, both in dark grey. Hope you like! Quote
robuko Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 This is another excellent LDD MOC, I love the boathouse and greenhouse, and the details in all the rooms are superb. Your builds are getting better and better. I would buy this is if it was a real set! Quote
Ultron Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 (edited) I would also buy this if it were an actual set. The only thing I have to nitpick is that it's a statue of Rowena Ravenclaw not a bust, and it is white marble so those pieces would have to be white not dark gray. Other than that great job Edited August 27, 2011 by Luna Lovegood Quote

The only thing I have to nitpick is that it's a statue of Rowena Ravenclaw not a bust, and it is white marble so those pieces would have to be white not dark gray. Other than that great job I didn't expect less from a true Ravenclaw . It's true, there's a full statue of Rowena in Ravenclaw's tower, but you can imagine that a whole minifig in such a tiny space wouldn't look quite good. And yes, it should be white or light grey, but I don't like how those colors look like in LDD. By the way, I forgot to say that the two books in Ravenclaw's tower would be printed (like the old HP books) but with diferent designs. Which two books would you choose for Ravenclaw's tower? Quote
The Penguin Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Well, I generally am cold to LDD MOCs (apart from creations of a very limited number of members here), but this one is degenitely very good. It could have been a great addition to the current drying line. It's a shame that not all pieces un the MOC really exhist (in term of colors, of course). Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
The Real Walkers Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 A superb LDD but I have two questions: 1. What is the bottom floor of the tower. I assumed it to be Filch's office or is it Slughorn's?? 2. Is the wider tower the infirmary and then Trelawney's classroom?? Again, superb work and I would defanetly buy it That and your choice of minifigures is my dream selection Quote

It's the Potion's Master office, that is, Slughorn's or Snape's, whoever you get on well with. 2. Yes, it is. I would have added more beds to the Infirmary but, well, there's not much room, and I wanted a desk for Poppy. In the Divination classroom, I tried to add as many little details as possible: the cups, the fireplace... If you are wondering what the golden thing is, you can spot it here. And always thank you. LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Amazing realization! I love the inner details and several rooms of this building. Very nice work! Quote
MattieG7 Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Great Work Orejon8! It looks like it would fit in well with 4842 and 4867! I have a question: How did you manage to get the white background on the pictures? Once again, good jo b Quote

I have a question: How did you manage to get the white background on the pictures? Once again, good jo b First, thank you! Second, when you take a screenshot of an LDD model, the background is transparent. If you upload that image to Flickr (for instance) it will turn black. Using a Painting tool (I use PAINT.Net), create a second cape, fill it with a white background, and fuse both capes. If it's too difficult, download PAINT.Net and pm me. Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Impressive LDD creation 'Orejon8', I agree.....it would fit nicely with the Castle and the 2011 add=on set. Keep on casting those spells ! Quote

Orejon8 Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 Ok, since I'm not willing to accept the end of the Lego Harry Potter Theme, I've made a Lego CUUSOO page for this set. My goal: get it become a real set, one of a new wave. The link is this one. If you want this theme not to disappear, go and support! Quote

Orejon8 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 I've put it on every post that could be related but, just in case, here it goes again. To prevent the end of the Harry Potter theme I've made a Lego CUUSOO project for my Mysteries of Hogwarts set. The link to the project is HERE. So, if you want Harry Potter to stay alive as much as I do (and I do it a lot, I'm even going to make a video) then go, spread the word, and SUPPORT! Quote
Orejon8 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 I said I would and I did: I put a video on YouTube to promote the Lego CUUSOO project : Quote
JackJonespaw Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I like this MOC, very imaginative. If they had included Hogwarts (2011) with this, for $75 dollars, I would have bought it. Quote

fernflower Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I saw this on Cuusoo and though it was a brilliant addition to the offical line. You have my support and I really hope it gets released. Good luck :) Quote
clarity2431 Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I said I would and I did: I put a video on YouTube to promote the Lego CUUSOO project : Hello there, first I'd like to say this is fantastic work and your creativity and passion for HP and Legos really show in this set you've created. I was planning on PMing you to ask if there was any possibility of being able to get some sort of plans on how to build this? I'm sure if I took the time to eye it up I could come up with something close but it would be much easier to have an instruction manual of sorts. I hope this is possible...this could be a great addition to my HP Lego universe. I hope to hear back from you. Again, thanks for sharing these wonderful creations with us all! Quote

precessing princess Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 (edited) First of all - it's a great job! Nice, with a lot of light and enough space, and i love very much the connectinon (like a balcony) between tower and the main building. I would add a clock, on the main building instead of the smaaaal tower on it. So I've already voted for you on cuusoo! I would love to have such an addition to my Hogwarts castle, I feel even that it is necessary) And that gold thing in the Trelloni's classroom is a Samovar! very russian thing) to drink hot tea.
