Splat Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 @ Splat: On his JurgensTechnicCorner.com website, Jurgen Krooshoop has (25-MB) PDF Building Instructions for his Lego Technic 4-Speed RC Gearbox that utilizes Power Functions: snip Thanks DLuders. I've seen that one before, and it is a great piece of mechanical engineering, but a bit big to squeeze into a MOC. I'm looking for something just a little bit smaller Quote

Lipko Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Here's a bit modified version of Allanp's 2WD/4WD drive (I came up with it independently, after that I saw that his version is pretty similar). This version lets you use a single selector arm. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/97/p1330440.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/51/p1330439.jpg/ For some reason, "I'm not allowed to use that image extension"... sevs Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 (edited) Lots to answer here. Think it's gonna be a big post. Hey Sevs, welcome to the forum! Are you referring to multi-speed gearboxes (transmissions) used in vehicles, or are you referring to the type used to control multiple functions, like the gearbox in the excavator? Thanks. This is just ideas. Come up with whatever you want. On his website, Sariel has a nice (with pictures and description), and this [media] He also did this Yep, I've seen those before. I'm a fan of Sariel ;) EDIT: The forum told me this: You have posted a message with urls. Due to the fact that spammers really annoy Siegfried members can't post links until they have made 5 posts. Sorry.... Edited December 22, 2011 by sevs Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Yes you need to make 2 more posts around eurobricks before you can post a message with urls. Quote
sevs Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 this is a small 2 speed i made, i don't know if it is used before. i made it for an rc model, i needed 2 gears and not too difference between gear 1 and 2. the ratios are 1:2.5 and 1:1.536 LINK: Nice. I made one with bricks (yay, generations since I used bricks in technic) and it works fine. Only that I cant find one 16t clutch to insert. Yes you need to make 2 more posts around eurobricks before you can post a message with urls. I know. :) Quote
DLuders Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 UniverLiber posted this of his 5-Speed Manual Gearbox (which makes a nice display for kids to understand how gear SIZE relates to wheel SPEED): Quote
