December 18, 201113 yr Overall it looks very nice, but I got some spots for improvement: The angle of the wheels is too tight Try and make the wheelbase a bit narrower . But it looks pretty good for your firs truck! Can you upload a video?
December 18, 201113 yr Author I`ll try to make video tomorrow, now it is too dark. -The angle of the wheels is too tight I don`t have this shock absorbers: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=731c04 so I had to use rubber bands, suspension was too mild. -Try and make the wheelbase a bit narrower Have no ideas how to do it... December 18, 201113 yr -Try and make the wheelbase a bit narrower Have no ideas how to do it... I'm actually building another Tatra right now, and it has the realistic- narrow wheelbase. If you like I can upload some WIP pictures of it.
December 20, 201113 yr Here you go, a video of the drivetrain. Notice that there is only one motor cause my other one is broken...
December 20, 201113 yr Author Thnank you:) But I can`t understand one thing. If I`m not wrong, the top knob gear isn`t similar to the bottom. So, one wheel isn`t like the other, is it? Updated photos! Edited December 20, 201113 yr by Kit Fisto
December 20, 201113 yr Thnank you:) But I can`t understand one thing. If I`m not wrong, the top knob gear isn`t similar to the bottom. So, one wheel isn`t like the other, is it? Wheels are the same, they are just not align perfectly. Here is real life example of this setup. Note how gears on this picture are also placed in a way that axles are parallel, but not in a line.

January 6, 201213 yr Nice model, does the "snake" link on the last pic work ok? I would have thought something like that might cause a lot of friction/wear?
January 6, 201213 yr Good good, I also just noticed that its not a single long "snake", but 2 separate links lol When I first looked it appeared to just go from the gear straight down, but you have it linked through the central bar. I would love to see a video of that part in action as well as the whole thing.
January 17, 201213 yr Author It`s finished! :)Gear ratio is the same :8-24-8/24-12/20 Edited January 17, 201213 yr by Kit Fisto
January 17, 201213 yr I love trial trucks and your truck is looking very cool. The way of steering is a bit confusion, but if it´s working, why not.
February 16, 201213 yr @ Kit Fisto: Your Lego Tatra T815 trial truck looks very capable! Have you tried it out in the snow? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijsngv6JQkc
February 16, 201213 yr Author No,I haven`t.I`ve made it out today, because I want to build other truck.I think it was a good Truck Trial start for me

July 13, 20159 yr hi, i want to explain the working of the tatra´s independent suspension, in a picture i used the Steyr Puch Pinzgauer transmission, which is made in the same principle: https://www.dropbox.com/home/suspension In these pictures maybe you can see how this transmission system works, the blue line represents the output of the engine, and the red and green lines the wheels axles, in the LXF file, the model 2 is very likely to the transmission used by Yoraish in his truck (which is very likely to the real life system), the model 3 in LXF file is used by some builders to fix the different axis between the wheels, and the model 1 its how it would looks like in real life trucks, which gives the option of a differential, and maybe, if someone could make custom parts, this transmission would be possible to build very likely to real life trucks, i hope this could work for you, and nice truck Kit Fisto, it remembers me a truck i made long tima ago with rubber bands instead of shock absorbers.
July 14, 20159 yr pinzgauer is very similar but uses portal axles and is more compact (smaller vehicles)
