Hinckley Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Remember this game? I'd like to conclude it finally. The first mystery was somewhat disjointed and then paused when I took a two week business trip followed by a two week vacation. Then, on the last day of my vacation, LEGOLAND asked if I would go to Malaysia for four months, so the pause became more permanent. I've decided to conclude it with a new game and make a game with simpler rules that has a more clear way to win but is still a challenge. Those who were still alive when the game pause started are still welcome to play, so they will be given priority. Anyone else feel like playing? Reply here and let me know. This game will start the first week in January. Returning players Dragonator WhiteFang Bob_ Dannylonglegs Peppermint_M Siegfried Shadows iamded Rules for Game play (borrowed mostly from Dragonator's Mystery Manor) There is one specific mystery. It must be solved for the game to end. Once the mystery is revealed, the winners will be clear. You must search for clues: This means that an action must be specified. For example, you wish to search a room for hidden objects. The following is an example of how not to go about this:"I wish to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room".Instead, you must be able to specify what you want to do. For example:"I would like to open the drawers of the cabinet."It is not required for you to specify exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for, but a generalised statement will not find you anything. Act like a detective and you will be fine. Dynamic Actions: Actions you wish to carry out without all of the other players' knowledge can be PMed to the game host, Hinckley. You may or may not be allowed to do what you request. Attacking, killing, or searching another character: I have setup a system for attacking and defending that is needlessly complicated and I won't try to involve you all in the specifics. At a certain point, you may want to attack another player. PM me your attack and I will answer if it is plausible or not. Some characters just would not attack another player, based on their character description. Some characters are stronger than other when it comes to defense and counter-attack. So think before you attack. Others may stop at nothing to stop themselves from being forcibly searched. Host response time: Please be patient. You may bring the story to a point where you need the host to further game play. I will be on top of this game as much as possible. Please be patient with me between chapters as well. The game host is always right. Please don't question the rules or the info you are given. Take the info I give you and work with it. If you're terribly confused, please say so or ask questions. But, if I don't give you any further info, please be patient with the info you are given and try to work with what you have. Please try to avoid editing your posts, as it can lead to suspicion against you. Just consider what you want to say before you say it or even proofread and you'll be fine. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning. A second failure will result in the humorous death of your character. Cast of characters: Pleas note: more character info will come to some players from the host before each chapter starts. Fred Daniel Yam Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I feel like playing, though will this need a previous history with mystery games here?
Dragonator Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Diesel is still rocking and ready to go. With his motorbike. I think it was a motorbike.
Professor Flitwick Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I remember watching this mystery quite closely, and have been wondering what it was all about since it paused. I'm glad to see you've returned to finish it, but unfortunately it seems a few players have drifted into the realms of Eurobricks history. Whilst I am a big fan of mystery games, and would love to play a game similar to Red Moon, I have two large exams in mid-January, so I'm afraid I can't sign up to this.
CMP Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 This is quite a surprise. Was actually one of the first topics I saw in this forum. I'd love to play, although I will be on a cruise the first 5 days or so of January, though I'll still have internet access then. If you need extra players, I'd be grateful to do so.
Dragonator Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 William is still alive and kicking! Not for long. Damn weird father-in-law.
Hinckley Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 I feel like playing, though will this need a previous history with mystery games here? It should be able to stand alone. It may help you to research the previous events, but the new format should mostly negate all the intricacies and anagrams of the last installment. Diesel is still rocking and ready to go. With his motorbike. I think it was a motorbike. Hooray!
Fred Daniel Yam Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 It should be able to stand alone. It may help you to research the previous events, but the new format should mostly negate all the intricacies and anagrams of the last installment. Cool, then I'm game.
Fugazi Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I'd love to join in if there are characters available once the original players turn up. I've read Red Moon (1) and found the plot quite intriguing, I look forward to the conclusion!
Ricecracker Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I don't think I'll be taking part this time. Others can take part this time.
Tamamono Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Oooh, if you need extra players, I'd definitely be interested!
Bob Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I'd like to play. I was a reservist on the original Red Moon.
WhiteFang Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Not for long. Damn weird father-in-law. Oh shut up! I will use a spade to shove into your mouth.
Masked Builder Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 If there are any spots left I'm in! After seeing the other Mystery games I've decided to try one. No travel for me.
swils Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I'd like to give it a shot. Would be a nice refresher course for being a player having to *find* the clues, before hosting a Heroica quest and *laying* the clues.
CorneliusMurdock Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I'd be willing to play if you need more players, Hinck. I'm fine with watching from the sidelines as well. Great that it'll finally get an ending!
Dannylonglegs Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I loved this game, and my character! I'd be honoured to continue playing, and always felt guilty about not replying to your follow up message! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
JimBee Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 This brings back good memories. Good to see this finally having a proper ending, Hinck. Mr. Baxter will watch from up above, waiting in anticipation after a year and a half of being dead.
Zepher Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Hell, I'm going back and forth. I remember really loving the last game, and I also remember being killed off for... 10th grade. Seems so strangely long ago. I don't know how I feel picking back up a game from a year and a half ago... but what the hell, I like role playing, I like Hincks as a host, and you know, I'm bored, so I'm in. Unless dead players have to stay dead.

TheBoyWonder Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I too wish to sign up. I have read through Red Moon 1 and enjoyed the plot.
Scorpiox Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) Ooh! I love it when this happens! I'd love to sign up, I haven't played a mystery before but firmly grasp the mechanics through reading a couple. Count me in! Go Hinckley! Edited December 19, 2011 by Scorpiox
Peppermint_M Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Yay, closure for Penny who is possibly mourning her dead fiancee still? Anyway, I'm in!
Quarryman Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Considering that Red Moon was the game that proved to me that I was right in thinking mystery games are not for me I definitely won't be signing up for this. Looking forward to watching from the sidelines though.
