AwesomeTaylor Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Well, its time to give gifts and I couldn't decide what to get my friend, so I decided to build something instead! I was planning on a model snowman since she loves christmas so much, but I didn't have the parts and it was too late to order them. So instead I used her love of baking to make her a kitchen! I really went out of my way to use some non-traditional building techniques, try some new ideas and play around with some things that may or may not work! All that is left to do now is to glue it and present it! The kitchen I built a friend for christmas! Here we can see the little cupcakes she has made on the side by the sink Her Kitchen Aid mixer and fridge Her oven, stove, and top cupboards A closer view of the fridge doors Here she is, proudly showing off her cake! Ash Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Love it. The Kitchen-Aid in particular is awesome. I might have to steal this idea at some point. Maybe my wife would go easier on my LEGO habit then! Quote

Maybe my wife would go easier on my LEGO habit then! I'm thinking the same thing! I love the idea of gifting Legos like this, and a kitchen would be perfect for my girlfriend. Maybe ill surprise her for our anniversary. I love the colors you used, the walls are the same color as my mother's kitchen and I always liked the atmosphere it creates in the room. The features are great, I particularly like the stove and the vent above the oven, simple but effective. The Kitchen Aid mixer is awesome, is that a black screwdriver you used? Quote

Maybe my wife would go easier on my LEGO habit then! Haha thanks! I think I saw a similar design on here about a year ago, but I couldn't find it for the life of me. I think my design is pretty much the same though. I'd love to give credit if I knew who I saw do this first! I'm thinking the same thing! The dark red is one of my favorite colours, as it's not obnoxiously bright but it does still make for a light, friendly model :) And the other bright colours worked together better than I had expected, especially the dark tan/yellow floor along with the white/medium blue counters and appliances! lightningtiger Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I wonder where the red milk shake maker idea came from eh ?.......Looks similar to the one in my hardware store. Fantastic kitchen 'Awesome Taylor', mind if I take the stove idea for my latest creation.....my Danish supermarket has living areas up stairs and I need a cool looking stove...I wonder if a Lego turkey goes in there ? See we don't need Friends theme to make girly Lego designs which us blokes don't mind building too ! Though she doesn't look much of a MILF ? Brick On Cook On ! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I love all that kitchen stuff! The shelves are absolutely amazing! Quote
SilvaShado Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 That is an awesome creation! Great idea for a gift. I did the same thing for three of my friends for holiday gifts and they loved them. Making something for someone that is a reflection of them is so much fun and meaningful. And it's always great to spread to love of LEGO. Great job! Quote
