Orlego Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Right now my store is being remodeled. Lego is spending a ton of money on it, and it will become the new US flagship store. The plans I have seen are amazing. I have posted before and during pics to my BS gallery for those interested in seeing a complete renovation of a Lego store. I will post more in the coming weeks. I will also post after pics when the store is done. Click here to view the gallery. ;) Quote

Vader Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Hey when you get the new ep3 sets will they let you build them for displaying??? Quote
Orlego Posted January 11, 2005 Author Posted January 11, 2005 Hey when you get the new ep3 sets will they let you build them for displaying??? Yeah. I also built all of the new sets that came out before Christmas such as the new Alpha Team, City & Racers. Right now we are setup in a tent and will not have a demo area until we re-open the store in March. It does give me time to redo some old buildings in our town display. :P ;) Quote
jonfett Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Good news Orlego, I hope your store looks great once it is finshed! Just one question: Where is your store located? I went to the disney parks in Florida in 2001 and I went to a Lego store in one of the parks, the pictures in your gallery reminded me of the store I went to. Jon. Quote

I went to the disney parks in Florida in 2001 and I went to a Lego store in one of the parks, the pictures in your gallery reminded me of the store I went to. Jon. My store is located in the Downtown Disney Marketplace. It is Disney's shopping and entertainment complex. The complex features Pleasure Island (Night clubs) The House Of Blues, Planet Hollywood, AMC Theaters, Virgin Megastore and The Rainforest Cafe. If you went to a Lego store in Florida, it is the one you went to because it is the only one :P ;) The store was still kinda cool, but it was getting old looking. The new store is going to be a huge change. Lego is also replacing all of the large characters outside. I have more pics that I'm going to post later today. :D Quote

Vader Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Orlego im going to report you for Cruelty to a fig, Look at that cowboy hes clearly struggling for his freedom ;) Quote
Orlego Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 Can you steal jangofett for me ? :D Hahaha, I have asked Lego corp. if I could have him but they said no. Most of these figs will sadly see a garbage crusher. Lego destroys most of them. They don't want the employees to have them because they are worth a ton of money (Jango has sold for as high as $30,000 US) and most are in poor condition from sitting around for 8 years. Jango is in really bad condition. We have had to put long screws in both his arms because kids kept ripping them off while trying to shake his hand. I would love to take him into my home, fix him, and make him part of the family. ;) Quote

Jipay Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Damn if only you could take at least one fig... Quote
Orlego Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 Damn if only you could take at least one fig... Yeah and it pains me to know that most of them are going to the crusher. Quote
Jipay Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 What if you were the guy who is supposed to put them in the crusher and that another guy is waiting nearby the crusher with a car or a van (or even a truck) ready to load ? :D Quote
jonfett Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Those brick-built figs look great! Too bad you can't take any of them :/ but someone has already nicked the poor skeletons head! Jon. Quote

The thought has come to me but I may have to fight off the Disney mouse patrol. ;) Quote
Orlego Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 Those brick-built figs look great!Too bad you can't take any of them :/ but someone has already nicked the poor skeletons head! Jon. The funny thing about the skeleton is it never had a head. The position they put it in on the celing was too low so they never put a head on it. We always joked about how stupid it looked. All they had to do is reposition it. ;) Quote
The Middleman Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 LEGO could put these up on eBay, they'd make a good $10,000, probably, even in bad condition. Quote
Peoples_General Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Someone should email them that idea, so as not to let these brick-built figs become garbage. Lets created the "Save A Minifig Foundation" . :D Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Ya, isnt the lego company in like a money crisis or something? Just sell a ton of these things for like $10,000 each, then tada! a huge profit! Quote
ApophisV Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Maybe they are written off and that's why Lego HAS to destroy them? Quote
Vader Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 That could indeed be the reason why, i wonder how many of these giant figs go missing over the year :-D ;) Quote
