lightningtiger Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Well here starts another W-I-P and for a few hours of scratch building...... Yes, it's another bank from the tiger, this time though it's Danish inspired. Now again suggestions and advice especially those living in Denmark will be of great assistance to this creation of mine. It will have a pitched roof, but no living areas....though a tea/coffee making area will be built in. More to come ! Quote
KeepLeft Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I like the way you used the arch and pillars and the way you created the counter with the glass screen. Quote
TheKingOfBuilding Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Looks good so far! Are you going to add a security camera to that 1x1 brick with clip in the top left corner? Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I'm liking it so far! Love the way you've started the interior, Very modern and clean I hope that you're putting a gate or door in that arch way or you might get some unwanted customers . Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 Thanks 'KeepLeft', 'TheKingOfBuilding' and 'The Yellow Brick', for your comments.....and yes, 'TYB' I will put some kind of door so no one can steal their coffee. Plus yes 'TKOB' a camera is going onto that clip brick.....I must remember to do that. I have already started on the roof, but not the pillars on the front/left side wall yet.....hopefully today....updating today....sometime ! Keep watching ! Quote
MadManMingo Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 (edited) I have already started on the roof, but not the pillars on the front/left side wall yet..... Nice start. But good to know, that there will be pillars on the front "porch". Otherwise the red roof would look a bit weird, hovering over the front stairs. But hey... you could call it an operahouse, and it would be perfectly danish inspired Edited December 29, 2011 by Phred Fixed quote. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 Thanks for the feedback 'MadManMango', that opera house would make an interesting microbuild. I have to design the front poles, not too thin....not too thick. Keep watching. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Looks a great little bank,I hope your lego banks don't get greedy like in the real life. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Update time everyone, trimming to be done yet ! Now some help from everyone......which Danish bank does it look like the most so I can sign-write it and should I put a safe in here somewhere ? Comments and suggestions....everyone knows the drill now ? More to come.... Quote
dho7622u Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I like the openness of the side and the addition of the roof. Good work! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 I like the openness of the side and the addition of the roof. Good work! Thank you 'dho7622u', it's design is similar to the Dagli'Brugsen with it's open side/back to allow play/minifig posing. Keep watching. Quote
doink Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 If you have a 6 x 6 sat dish (from the Octan rail car, is one place I can think of), a 2 x 2 steering wheel - add a backet to the side and voila - safe door. Perhaps a removable hole in the vault wall to allow for that "bank robbery" scene - I heard they found a hole in the bank wall today, the Police are looking into it... Quote
MadManMingo Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 (edited) Hey Thanks for the pillars It's coming out quit fine. Your bank could match the colors and logo of the danish "Spar Nord Bank" http://files.abk69.webnode.com/200000017-896038a5a3/spar-nord-positiv.jpg ... and no! I'm not a costumer there Edited January 3, 2012 by Hinckley picture changed to link-way too large. Please read the site guidelines Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Spar Nord, it is.....thanks 'MadManMango' and thanks also to 'doink' for your safe suggestion....I'll look into it. Keep watching everyone because I think that safe plus signs are a possibility today ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 I actually promised not to bump up, but I was so impressed with what I came up with.....everything just came together. See what I mean..... Instead of a coffee machine, a water dispenser.....what does everyone think of my safe design ? Comments welcome, only a minifig I must customise yet. More to come still ! Quote
brickie Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 The bank looks great. The safe is very realistic. Perhaps you could have a security guard standing out the front. I must say that this is a unique way of learning another language. You'll be fluent in Danish when you do get to visit Buland. Quote

Thanks 'brickie', maybe your right....I always had trouble learning another language.....perhaps an old dog can learn a new trick eh ? My wife walked into the house tonight, she said not another house.....funny, I haven't started on houses yet and I had to tell her it was a bank......I hope she scratches her head thinking what bank is that ? I'm having trouble finding images of staff uniforms to make a torso for my bank teller. More to come ! Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 (edited) Very nice bank 'lt'! A lot f progress, it coming together quite nicely. Are you planning to build an entire street similar to New Mannum's size? I did a bit a searching only to find apparel for branch directors. Nothing on tellers, probably semi casual? The many of directors had button-downs and/or sport coats with the emblem and name embroidered on the left. Maybe get some ideas or photos from a regular eh? Keep up the great work Edited December 30, 2011 by Leg Godt Gud Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 Thanks for the feedback 'LGG', I'm still thinking of what to do about the minifig....anyway, it won't be until early next week when I can do more work to any of my creations.....going on a two day getaway for new years ! (But I'll try and stay in contact during that time though ) Suggestions still welcome. Quote
EM4CZ Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 safe is not very secure, because everyone see it, doors must open the opposite direction and the counter is not secured against unauthorized entry. Quote
BrickSindito Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 (edited) Perhaps you could have a security guard standing out the front. Wouldn't make it very realistic, Danish-way at least. I haven't seen a bank which had a security guard out in front and I have lived here in Denmark all my life. @LT Nice little bank. Although your counter is closed. Danish banks are very open This kind of counter is very common among Danish banks (the coffee machine is also common, at least those bank I have been.) EDIT Put the water cooler at the customer side of the counter (again, open environment) EM4CZ is right about the safe. I think it's often build in the basement. Edited December 30, 2011 by BrickSindito Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 Okay, when I can I'll fix the safe door....also due to the building design and need to pose minifigs in the future it will stay as it is. Now, the fancy coffee machine in the customer area.....that's alien to an Aussie....the best we get is a TV up on the wall with some crumby program on. I guess also I could remove the screen.....since I have a security camera mounted above the counter.....I'll try and update A.S.A.P., thanks 'EM4CZ' and 'BrickSindito' for your feedback....keep watching ! Wow, really? Then you would get the chok of your lifetime when you enter a Jyske Bank here in Denmark Quote
MadManMingo Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 He ain't kidding!!! Jyske Bank went to an agency and said they would like a new image, and then they went completely BONANZA, like you went to the cirkus or so. It's my bank, by the way. Luckylie, their line has turned a bit serious again. But the Juice/Latté bar is nice Your Bank is evolving very nicely and could easylie fit in, with your "Super Brugsen". Couldn't find any pics of the staff in "Spar Nord". But hey... how about a little sponsor footage outside the Bank? "Spar Nord" is sponsering our footballteam "Aab" in this part of Denmark. Quote
