LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) I actually promised not to bump up, but I was so impressed with what I came up with.....everything just came together. See what I mean..... -snip- Instead of a coffee machine, a water dispenser.....what does everyone think of my safe design ? Comments welcome, only a minifig I must customise yet. More to come still ! Very imposing work! Impressive progress made from the first pictures. This bank is awesome: I like how you organized the counter service for the public. There is only one defect: there aren't money in the safe! Edited January 1, 2012 by Phred Removed irrelevant images in quote. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the feedback everyone, especially 'MadManMango' - I might knock up soccer torso for some fan to wear going to the bank or Dagli'Brugsen ! Updated photos in a few days, on my getaway at the moment.....400 Km from my collection. Edit - don't worry 'LT12V' I'll have some money in that safe on Tuesday the latest ! Oh, before I forget I have replaced that window screen for a 1x4x1 panel so it's a little more open, but if some feel some security is needed - should there be a 4x3x1 trans-clear panel being used instead ? The Yellow Brick Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Really liking it so far LT! Its beginning to look more realistic Will you be filling up the side wall of will it stay open? Quote
Hiawatha Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) I love the water cooler very great touch! The overall build has a lot of life in it even though there are no figures yet. I'm technically telling you this 2011 when you are in 2012 as well. Edited January 1, 2012 by Hiawatha Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 Thanks 'TYB' and 'Hiawatha' for your comments and yes, 'TYB' that side that's open stays open for minifig placement/playability - I like my creations to have some play features about them....as it's really a child's toy right ? Tuesday, fresh update them.....but don't let that stop the comments and suggestions ! Quote
MadManMingo Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) .400 Km from my collection. Just happy to help with small contributions on a Lego-house 16.300 km away Keep bricking!!! Edited January 1, 2012 by MadManMingo Quote

lightningtiger Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 G'day everyone....a little update time. Right, now the safe opens in a better location, note the 1x4 panel piece which is only 1 brick high. Now a 4x3 panel with a tile on top (need to get a clear panel though ), which is better....1 high white panel or 3 high clear panel - you help me decide please ? Quote
Dakar A Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I'm liking this build as much as your amazing grocery store, LT! My only questions is, why do the bank employees need a water dispenser if there is no roof? You should just put a bucket there, instead of spending precious cash on a fancy-dancy water cooler! All in all, great build and keep it up! Dakar Quote

Dakar Thanks 'Dakar', I'll be working again on the store next week, now for this bank only a minifig and money in the safe are required...I hope today, but which counter looks better low screen or tall screen ? BrickSindito Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 but which counter looks better low screen or tall screen ? Low screen Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Low screen It will be done later, I must remember Danish, not Aussie style. Any more suggestions for this creation ? Quote
MadManMingo Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 (edited) Hey LT Final sugestions... A small detail in the masonry/wall around here ▼ would be very danish. Details like this are very common Edited January 5, 2012 by MadManMingo Quote

My ears must have been burning because ten minutes ago I was working on some new plans for between the OK and SN bank. Was this better? I've made the annottations with Sketch in Evernote. But I forgot to share the pictures. Let me know if they're still not apearing. Looking forward to see your ideas between OK and SparNord Edited January 5, 2012 by MadManMingo Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Oh, yes now I see what you mean, the white edging....hmm, I'll look into that....thanks again 'MadManMingo' (see I got it right for a change ). The date on the building, I guess that what that means....a sticker will take care of that....I hope. Any more suggestions ? Quote
MadManMingo Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 'MadManMingo' (see I got it right for a change ). Any more suggestions ? Ohhh... now I get it... Mingo/Mango Wish I had a Mangotree...in my backyard... It would be very cool if you could push the front wall just half af brick back from the roof, maybe by using these little fellows. . But maybe that means to much altering of the entire roof??? Just a thougth... Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Ah, not so hard to do at all and I can hide the special pieces in the bricked off roof section....I'll try tomorrow if I can....wife still at home - not back at work yet, shoulder injury she has and a pain in my neck too ! Keep watching ! Quote
MadManMingo Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 The detail at the bottom of the roof could easily be made in red like the rooftiles. The principles of that detail is very danish, and us made in various colors. Looking forward to see the result. And yes, the date could easily be stickers. Quote

It wasn't that hard to do and I it....why didn't I think of it before, any other improvements ? Thanks 'MadManMingo' for your help so far. Quote
Dakar A Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 (edited) Yay, no more wet money! I'm liking this a lot, espically with the roof complete. It really proclaims NORDIC, and I'm sure fits quite well with your other buildings. Mabye you should build a corner biulding next.. wink, wink Kudos, Dakar Edited January 6, 2012 by Dakar A Quote
MadManMingo Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Well, late last night I did this..... It wasn't that hard to do and I it....why didn't I think of it before, any other improvements ? Thanks 'MadManMingo' for your help so far. Nice! Very nice LT! This really gives the facade character (and typicly danish ). Instead of wall and roof fades into each other as just one surface. I like it If you want to get the "date-sign" in the center just right, you should make it rectangular instead of an even square. Maybe a 1x3 white plate with nu studs. A white 2x4 might be too big for this facade. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 Ah, right 'MadManMingo' I know what to do, a 1x2 hinge top and bottom - an old 1980's Lego design trick pre-modified bricks era used in the 1986 Shell servo. I'll find one of those 1x3 white tiles....might have a spare somewhere. Also thanks to you and 'Dakar' for your comments and kind words. That little problem with be sorted and that minifig will be next....any suggestions ? Quote
MadManMingo Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Sounds like that will do it Just stumbled upon the SparNord app on Google android market. Maybe you could use some of the icons as genuine signs inside the bank? Saw the other day, that the SparNord staff wears white shirts with logo's on the collor. Not anything fancy On top of that, they wear a jacket or blouse of their own. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 Thanks for the information and logos 'MadManMingo', I'll try sometime next week when I score some more stickers to custom a torso and interior signage. Updating a.s.a.p. Quote
