Zane Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Apparently, the trailer keeps being removed from some sites. Anyways, it looks good. Quote
Zarkan Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Saw this when I went to see Cars last summer. It will probably do great just like all the other Pixar movies. The CGI looks especially polished, better than any previous all CGI movie I've seen. ;-) BTW, isn't it kind of funny that trailers for Flushed Away (a Dreamworks movie also about rats) appeared on TV just as teaser trailers for this movie appeared? Seems like both companies have rats on the brain! X-D Quote
Djole Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Well, the trailer looks good, I guess it will be great like others did (anyone feels nostalgia of Basil the great mouse detective?) I didn Quote
Jipay Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Ratatouille... mhhhh... Weird name if that rat likes delicate food... Still it looks really funny ! I'd go and see it just to know how many french stereotypes they managed to put into that movie. Not to mention none of the cheese names are correct :-D Quote
Kahgarak Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 That looks like a fun movie. Nice CGI renders, and the part with the fat rat eating something of which he doesnt know what it is is very funny. And i think it's funny that they put the pronouncation of the title at the end. :-P Quote

Seems like both companies have rats on the brain! X-D Nope. Dreamworks has had trailers and dvd extra references to Flushed Away for quite awhile now, since Curse of the Were-Rabbit came out. It's a fact of life... Disney is a ripoff company. With the exception of Dreamworks releasing "Fish Tales" shortly after "Finding Nemo"... 1998: Dreamworks Antz 1998 (later): Disney A Bug's Life 2000: Dreamworks Road to El Dorado 2001: Disney Emperor's New Groove 2005: Dreamworks Madagascar 2006: Disney The Wild http://www.nohomers.net/showthread.php?t=51866 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wild This would not be the first time for Disney and Dreamworks that two films with a similar theme were released in close proximity. In the fall of 1998, Dreamworks released its talking bug film "Antz" mere weeks before Disney/Pixar released "A Bug's Life". If you're thinking about watching this because of the "good reviews", think about how funny it is that many of the good reviews are all from Canada (where the film was made) or LA(the distributor). Almost like the people who made it and their friends are here talking it up so they can keep their jobs. Fortunately its a big flop, and even their ballot-stuffing won't make a difference. Shame on you! And much much more. It's like how they ripped of Miyazaki works, only to be found out, (followed by them then BUYING Miyazaki stuff for release in America... a payoff?) They still deny everything, of course. I mean hell, they got in (mild) trouble for shredding documents that stated the family of Winnie the Pooh's creator was in fact THEIR property, not Disney's. Unfortunately, the defendants used evidence which was STOLEN from Disney's garbage bins, ruining their case despite the fact Disney was shredding them anyway. http://www.disneyworldtrivia.com/articleViewer.php?aid=172 Probably would've gone through if they'd not done that. Kimba, The White Lion becomes... (Simba), The Lion King http://www.kimbawlion.com/rant2.htm Fact: During production of The Lion King, Disney's promotional people were talking in terms of "the remake of Kimba The White Lion that we're doing". Fact: Matthew Broderick stated that he understood he was being hired as a voice actor for a remake of Kimba The White Lion. Fact: In early production stages, Simba was white And "Atlantis": http://www.oldcrows.net/Atlantis/ Anyway... yeah... Disney blows. And gets away with it, legally and financially. >__< Edited October 1, 2006 by JINZONINGEN 73 Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Hmmmmm, I don't know CGI renders are nice. Quote

From what I've gathered the general consensus is that Dreamworks is the ripoff company. We have to remember that Pixar takes many years to produce its movies. This also suggests that several movies are produced near the same time. (I believe there are quotes on this subject, but I've got no time to find them now...)While it would seem that Dreamworks produces its animated flicks one at a time to directly compete with whatever Pixar/Disney has to offer. I'm by no means a Disney fan, but I'm not big on Dreamworks either. Quote

JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Actually, Jin, if you read this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wild#Criticism It discusses the strong possibility of Madagascar ripping Disney off. Whenever a movie comes out from Disney soon after it's come out from a competitor, that right there is their excuse. So brazen an excuse that they've even said they've worked on a film 10 years prior to release. 10 years. It's like me writing down movie ideas on napkins, then releasing clone movies a few months after a competitor's, stating "It was in production". There is no secret that Disney shreds documents to avoid giving property holders their due, that they launch a fleet of lawyers to get laws changed in their favor, that they rip off anything they see fit as closely as possible... this is just one more thing, with more evidence for than against. Disney is about as honest and moral as scientologists. i saw it during Cars too. I might watch this, but not Flushed Away As a fan of Wallace and Gromit (Aardman Animation), I'm definitely seeing it. X-D (Flushed Away) Quote
ScottManDeath Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Pixar was on campus some weeks ago and they mentioned that they are already working on the 2008 movie, while they are doing stuff like brainstorming for the 2009 movie. Quote
DoubleT Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 The 2008 or 09 movie is Toy Story 3.. That have bin confirmed by severel sources.. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Looks like it could be pretty funny. I'll probably watch whether it is a rip off of Flushed Away or not... I'll probably see Flushed Away too. Quote
