Beej Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Wow Patrick, this is a massive plan that you're implementing, the idea looks fantastic! It's sad to see your old layout taken apart, but I'm sure the new one will be bigger and better. It looks like there's a lot of custom stuff you're using for the signalling, can you give us any details on the electronics, interface to the computer, and software in use? I love the picture of the train yard at night, but then you've always been great with LEDs and electronics. Good luck with the new project! Quote

Fantastic stuff Is that PF track or your self-made 9v track, as the picture is quite dark? Just as if it's 9v then the train automatically stops every time? Is there an override for that? Quote
patje Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) these are ordinary 9 volt tracks that become divided in pieces of approximately 1m30 this is a sector. every sector still have a piece of 4 pieces straight rails… this part will stop the train … by means of a relay (more later) (a second small sector in the large sector) with 4 little papers you make a sector 2 along both sides, his part is no more conected to the other rails and you have a sector. papers: complete sector (in the middle)with stop part of 4 straight rails: Edited February 20, 2012 by patje Quote
Bricktrix Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 That is a SWEET addition I think most people (myself included) would have been tempted to do that 2 studs wide. The fact that you've gone for one stud wide makes it look even nicer in my opinion. A very nice detail to add that not many would notice. Well played Quote
