January 5, 201213 yr very nice review! when i first saw the fighter, i was quite happy with it, but ... now i don't know... it needs some serious mocing, imo. no landing gear? the underside is not appealing at all. as somebody else already stated, fitting the entire astromech instead of only his head, was perhaps not the best approach... all in all, i'd say it isn't much of an improvement compared to the previous versions...
January 5, 201213 yr I just noticed the lack of Republic detail? The symbol on the front of the right wing and the duel symbols on the back? Where this present in ROTS? I can't imagine they were removed that quick because of the newly declared Empire Edited January 5, 201213 yr by jmagaletta
January 5, 201213 yr I just noticed the lack of Republic detail? The symbol on the front of the right wing and the duel symbols on the back? Where this present in ROTS? I can't imagine they were removed that quick because of the newly declared Empire That the half circles aren't there is logical because they stand for a fleet which Anakin and Obi-Wan led in the Clone Wars, and as this green fighter is probably just stolen from the docking area in Coruscant it shouldn't be on it. But why the republican sigh isn't there is as much a question to me as it is to you.
January 5, 201213 yr Vader wasn't acting under the Republic at the time, and Palpatine could easily have procured an unmarked Eta-2 for him (he sent him on the mission, after all). That's my 'in-universe' theory. Since the Republic is associated with the Jedi, the lack of Republic markings could also serve to symbolize Anakin's fall from the light.
January 5, 201213 yr By the way, is it possible to request for a comparison image between this Interceptor and the original yellow/red/blue version? Thanks! I hope this picture helps! The cockpit is brighter than the old version, I think to match the new light grey. Edited January 6, 201213 yr by bondp99

January 6, 201213 yr Thanks for the comparrison picture. It looks much better (bigger, but bigger is always better in my view ). I think I'll get it now to honor my older version of this JSF Edited January 6, 201213 yr by Brickviller
January 6, 201213 yr Seeing this review has made me want to get this set more (though I'm still not too fond of the price tag, but I won't get into that). The ship looks really good, although of course it's a bit of an issue that it's way too big compared to the source material. Making ships to scale accurately with minifigures is always a bit of a problem using only official connection and for a set, but the Eta-2 in the film really is a small ship. A person basically fills the entire cockpit, whereas a minifigure looks pretty tiny in there (and R2 is too small for it as well). I guess there's nothing to be done about it, especially with that cockpit piece, but it still bothers me a little.
January 6, 201213 yr Thank you for the pic. Would love to see comparison pictures from different angles too. as you wish... R2's seat It's the best set from the winter wave 2012!

January 7, 201213 yr Thanks for the reveiw, ZoomZoom. Did you get this from the UK? If so, what store did you get it from? This one I will most likely pick up. Mostly for the fighter.
