I'm just ok with this set. I don't have any of these. I kind off the CMF train after Series 2. I don't have any of these figs, but I still have to say, "WTF?!" as to the choosing. As everyone else pretty much said, the mummy/space villain... I'm ok with fisherman(for the beard, really). I'm happy to see the Elf & Gorilla Suit Guy.

I don't want to be overly negative, but I'm outright disgusted at what figs were picked...but it was done by a vote...I guess the ~15% of Lego's business, that the AFOLs account for, voted way differently than the rest of the VIP's.

I thought I remembered the original voting e-mail stating that the highest voted (from series 3) would be brought back in an exclusive set. The "unique colored elements" are probably from the set itself, and not the minifigs.

I agree that the mummy being in the top is a little annoying, but think its a bit too early to get upset when we have very little info about what Lego will be doing with these figs.

Ithink by "set" they just meant the figures themselves, presented as a set of figures, rather than the traditional building set you seem to be thinking of.

You know my personal theory as to how these were chosen?

99% of the votes went to the Elf, and the rest were so evenly divided among the rest that Lego decided to choose the ones they needed to get rid of.

Again, I'm actually mostly happy with this selection, but I DO agree, it's NOT the best LEGO could have made.

I was surprised by this choice too, when I received the e-mail unveiling this minifigures come-back. I understand for the elf and I agree for the spaceman, but who could have voted for the gorilla, the mummy or the fisherman ? Just re-edit the spartan or any ancient figure and you will make a lot of happy AFOLs

The Gorilla is cute! The ELf is kool. The spaceman, eh, plain looking imo. I don't know why the mummy is there when you can get those easily. I bought the Egyption Mummy Pack for $7 and on New Years it was $3.50! It comes with 4 Egyption Mymmys and a sarcauphacus, red snakey, jewls, and the mummy's have kool helmets and one has wings. Their were plenty of way better minifigs to pick from, like the Dracula one or a robot. We have never gotten a real rboto minifig except in those exclusive packs

I voted for Forestman, Spartan and Elf. Really disappointed to see oinly 1, but I did not have any of these minifigures apart from the Space Villain, who I quite liked, and if not for the Elf's silly Third Party prices, I would of Voted for it. So, no big deal!

It would be nice if the fisherman's beard came in grey/silver this time around, the original fig had grey printing on the face but bright white beard which made it look a bit awkward to me.

For the elf, a different hair color would be nice, maybe grey/silver as well (since we already had brown with the wolfman). A different shield printing would have been cool too.

In the current advertised state I'm definitely not buying it, not worth it IMHO since I got at least one of each already.

The replies in this thread have me laughing so hard. This is an epic fail by TLG.

Except for the elf every one of these figures can be bought for less than $3 on bricklink. The mummy is going for half of that price. Luckily I drove all over the place and got 55 elves the first time around. Trying to build an army of them at $15 a piece would be extremely painful.

Sure a few new color elements might be useful. I would love a new elf hair color. Am I gonna spend $15 to get it? Heck no!

Plain and simple. If they wanted to sell a lot of this minifig pack they should have included all army building figures. (Zombie, Spartan, Forestman, Elf, Robot, Space Villain) Even the indian or ninja would have been acceptable. I would have bought 50 of them easily.

I will not be buying this until it goes on sale for $3 like the pharoahs quest figs and my prediction is that this will not sell at the regular price...

Until then I can buy the special elements from Hinkley who is picking up 10.

Pass...Nothing interesting at all.

And I'm not seeing the "special recolored elements" other than the gold scorpion, which frankly isn't very interesting within itself.

The pearl gold scorpion isn't even new either. Not a very appealling collection of figs really, I think I can quit happily pass on this one.

Yea this is pretty lame, hope this is a joke and the really they will come out with something MUCH better. What diffrent colors are there on space villain, gorilla and elf??? Only the elf is something I could get more of, meanig these are same price as regular minifigures. But no no, i dont know if I will laugh or cry. think I will laugh

Well... this is... unexpected. :sceptic:

But given the chance, I would pick this up. The Gorilla Suit Guy was one of my most-wanted figures, but I never got a single one. Big gaping hole in my collection. :cry_sad:

I hope they don't have a 'unique coloured element' for him. I want the original. Another one of the other figures couldn't hurt either, I suppose.

Dear Ogre,

We know how much our LEGO® fans love their minifigures! That's why we're giving your little VIPs the chance to tell us their number one character from the LEGO Minifigure Series 1 - 3. Simply click on their preferred minifigure below to register your vote. We will then turn the most popular characters into an exclusive LEGO Minifigure set, only available to LEGO VIPs!* Choose wisely, you only get to vote once! Voting closes July 30.

*snip photos of all available minifigs to vote on*

*Voting closes on 30 July 2011 and is restricted to one vote per registered VIP Member. The top 5 minifigures will be announced in the November email newsletter and the set will be exclusively available to VIP Members to purchase in 2012, and at this time terms will be announced. The sets will be available for as long as supplies last. Please be aware that while every best effort will be made to exactly replicate the minifigures from the series range, if the winning minifigures contain parts no longer in production, we will look to find the closest looking pieces as a replacement part, and if no suitable replacement parts are readily available, we will substitute the minifigure(s) in question with runners-up.

The elf is the only choice I can support. How on earth did the Spartan not make the cut? He's still the only Series 2 one I don't have and I know many others wanted multiples and couldn't get them. And no Series 1? They were so hard to get (at least in the U.S., or at least where I live) that I can't believe none of them made it either. I was looking forward to getting this once it was announced which minifigs won, but now I don't care.

So in other words, the Spartan, Zombie and Robot may have been in the top 5, but they're no longer producing those parts so LEGO went with runner-ups.... lame!

At least they could have told us that in the new email. I would have felt much better about it if LEGO had honestly said, "Well, the top minifigures were this, but we can't make those anymore so you get these instead."

Of course, that would have stirred up its own pot of controversy, so I guess LEGO is screwed no matter what.

But it just begs the question of why they had the voting in the first place if they knew there were going to be figures that they couldn't make... I would have been much happier in the first place if they'd done a limited voting for just the figures they could make. It would have been more honest.

But on the other hand, keeping it wide open for any figure in series 1 through 3 shows LEGO what people are interested in. I can only hope that the Spartan, Zombie and Robot placed high so that LEGO knows what to make next...

Yeah, LEGO can't win one way or another on this...

I could buy that for the Spartan and Robot, they had pretty unique parts, but the Zombie was basically just a standard minifig with a shovel and turkey leg and either of those accessories could easily be substituted for pretty much anything and he'd still be a credible zombie. So I can only assume he didn't get the votes needed, which makes me rather glad I have lots of Zombies already!

If they're not able or willing to make the body printing then it's a no-go for the figure.

Unfortunately for me, I didn't get many zombies. Only 1 extra. I can only hope Monster Hunters has zombies.

Apparently I was living under a rock last summer because I don't even remember hearing about this poll, much less taking it. I'm not pleased with the choices either, as I have 3 of the 5 and don't really want repeats...except I would be willing to have a few Elves. Between this and the mini modular buildings, I'm starting to wonder if LEGO is merely testing what VIP members will buy.

I'm fairly new to the CMF game, so I don't have most of them. Although, I do have several Elves already (expensive aftermarket purchases), so I don't know if this will be worthwhile for me or not. That was the main figure I wanted, and now they are coming out with Lord of the Rings, so I don't know how special this CMF will be to me.

I do agree some of the other figures would have been much, much better and more collectible. But if they don't make them anymore, then can't really help us fans out. I still want a Spartan and Zombie, so I will have to pay more of those pesky aftermarket prices.

Is that photo of the actual minifigures or is that just showing the ones that are included. so before they are released to purchase they will show the actual uniquely colored elements?

It is surprising that the Spartan and Zombie didn't make the cut, seeing how they made a lot of AFOLs wet with anticipation, but personally I'm amazed (and pleased) that the Gorilla Suit Guy did - not just because I have a couple of them but I saw them being popular from the beginning. Assuming these were the top five figures, it probably shows different tastes between AFOLs and KFOLs.
