EXO-CHAMP Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Hello all. I'm looking for all kinds of information on the Toa Inika & the Piraka. I've checked out a lot of threads here on EB, on-line games, character descriptions etc on the official Bionicle site (and S@H). Why do I need this information?: I'm currently designing a strategic wargame called Bioni-Dice.(some of you may know of my Exo-Dice game for Exo-Force). I would like to get accurate facts on weapons (range, ammo, special), armour, special attacks, special abilities, etc. In addition I would like your in-put on the prowess of the Inika & Piraka (actually also the Matoran and Titans). Please rate them according to these parameters(borrowed from Piraka Attack): Strength Agility Speed Intelligence Rate them from 1 to 10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being god like) Quote
Kahgarak Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 All Toa Inika have Lightning fused with their powers. For instance,Hahli would create an electrifying flood. All Piraka have eye-beams with powers. A great site for Bioniclish information is the BS01 Wiki. Quote

EXO-CHAMP Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 Great stuff. Thanks guys. But BS01 is down and no one knows when it will be on-line again. I'll check later. A small sample of how the stat-cards for Bioni-Dice will look like: Quote
Zarkan Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 A question, Exo champ. Most people who know a bit about Bionicle also know that mask powers and other powers play a big part in the story. Since most masks are not direct attackers, will you be making a way for them to instead penalize or boost players stats temporaraily? What I mean is, a system kind of like this: Example: Axxon, Mask of Truth: (3, 1+ Defense, 2 UP) First catergory: Number of dice to roll. An opponent will roll 2 dice as well. If the opponent wins, the power usage fails. Second catergory: If the player using the power wins, the effect is what is listed here, and will remain like that until the player's next turn. Third catergory: number of usage points required. (like heat points in Exo-dice) A penalty or boost would be repersented by different colored bricks or other things: Green: + movement light grey: - movement blue: + attack black: - attack yellow: + defense dark grey: - defense red: + damage Brown: - damage Did you have anything in mind at least a bit like that, or are there only going to be dirrect, damaging attacks? Thanks. ;-) Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted October 13, 2006 Author Posted October 13, 2006 You are most perceptive. These are the very ideas I'm working on. Actually I'm reading a lot of Bionicle "history", cartoons, etc. to get a feel of the universe first. Great stuff I might add. The usage system is actually spot on. Different powers will have different values. (I was actually thinking of changing the Heat system in E-D to a uasage system - it makes more sense - you're machine can only have so much power out-put). Quote
Zarkan Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 That's great! I'm glad you're adding those things in, and I'm also glad you're doing a lot of research on it before you make a lot of the stat cards and stuff. It's great to see another lego fan getting into the Bionicle storyline line! ;-) Also, I heard you say that you won't be making stat cards for a lot of the older kits. I'm pretty familiar with the Bionicle story, powers, names, etc, and if you want, I could help make stat cards for those older characters once you get the basic rules and 2006 cards up. I'd be happy to help make Bioni-dice more complete in that sense. ;-) Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted October 13, 2006 Author Posted October 13, 2006 In time I may add the older versions and your help would be very appreciated. Right now I'll concentrate on the models I actually can get hold of and use for testing. Quote
Zarkan Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 I decided to see how good I am at making the cards for your games (once you need my help), so I made a card for Umbra. You don't have to use it, of course, but I like how it came out. ;-) Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted November 18, 2006 Author Posted November 18, 2006 It looks great. Right now I'm putting all my effort into completing Exo-Dice. When I'm satsfied I'll call on you for advice. And I'll start a topic for Bioni-Dice in the Wargames forum. My Bionicle collection is growing slowly, so I should be able to "field-test" the system. The 07 Bionicle line looks very promising too.. Quote
Zarkan Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Thanks. And really, I'm glad you are focusing all your effort on one thing right now, and not juggling two or more games at the same time. When Exo-dice is mostly complete, I'll be glad to help you on Bionidice. ;-) Oh, and I totally agree on 2007. It, for the most part, rocks! Quote
