sok117 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Right now, for me, the only thing it has going for it is Liam Nesson. Quote
DarthSion Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Yeah I remember aliens and t ransformers when I played battleshipa as a kid. Why Liam Neeson Why, first you were a stupid ninja leader, now this rubbish, all down hill since fallout 3. I just hope the money hasbro makes from all these rubbish movies they finely make a good transformers movie. Quote
simonjedi Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 This will either be amazingly awful or just shite. I can't believe they've got Liam Neeson of all people to be in this. If he doesn't say 'They sunk my battleship' then the movie is a failure. Also Rihanna(?!) Why Liam Neeson Why, first you were a stupid ninja leader, now this rubbish, all down hill since fallout 3. What is this i dont even... Quote

Remember he was the leader of the stupid ninjas from the first batman, now he is in this, he was the voice of the father in fallout 3 Quote
simonjedi Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Remember he was the leader of the stupid ninjas from the first batman, now he is in this, he was the voice of the father in fallout 3 You mean Ra's al Ghul. I don't really see how that is a bad thing? It's not like Qui gon Jinn is a character worth mentioning. Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Remember he was the leader of the stupid ninjas from the first batman, now he is in this, he was the voice of the father in fallout 3 That wasn't bad at all... He was freakig Ra's Al Ghul!!! Besides Batman Begins was an excellent movie. Quote
The Legonater Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 This movie looks absolutly horrid. The last thing anyone needs is another movie made for the sake of having lots of stupid CGI scenes. Count me out. Quote
iamded Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Why Liam Neeson Why, first you were a stupid ninja leader, now this rubbish, all down hill since fallout 3. If you're a fan of Batman, you'll know Ra's al Ghul is no 'stupid ninja leader'. And I quite enjoyed The A-Team... This movie could be good. Another action movie, y'know. Doesn't need a big complex, deep plot. You need movies like that, lots of guns, explosions, mindless action. I'm sure this'll be as good as any of the Transformers movies. Quote
sok117 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Why Liam Neeson Why, first you were a stupid ninja leader, now this rubbish, all down hill since fallout 3. GRRR! Liam Neeson is not rubbish, he makes every movie he is in at least semi-decent just from him alone. And you can't say it went all down hill from Fallout, not only does the logic in your statment not make sense because Begins was before Fallout. Liam Neeson has plaid many awesome roles since Fallout, and I think everyone would agree besides you. For example Liam played Brian Mills in the movie Taken! That was an awesome movie, and guess what? It was after he was in Fallout. It was kick-megablocks don't stop action at it's finest and I loved every second of it. Moving further Liam Neeson played the god Zeus in Clash of the Titans which may have not been the best movie but it was visually spectacular, and Liam played that role perfectly, he conveyed an emotional side to someone with so much power. Next up hes in the A-Team for crying out loud! The remake of the classic TV show, he played Hanibal very effectivley and that movie was edge-of-your-seat awesome with an all-star cast! Oh my, and then what does Liam do next? He stars as Martin Harris in Unkown, another kick-megablocks film, that was a crazy thriller, simply a thrill to watch! And now hes staring in The Grey, where he has to save his buddies from a bunch of wolves. And your telling me it's all rubbish? Liam Nesson is probably my favourite actor. He was a Jedi, a savior, a god, an action hero, a ninja, a CIA agent, A military specalist, a lion (Thats right, he was Aslan), a vigilante, and a sex counciler. He doesn't do rubbish, he brings class to films. Frankly I think your being a bit to pessimistic. Even though this movie looks awful, I'd gladly go see it just to see Liam play a naval comander. DarthSion Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 No stop action just means made by someone with adhd for people with adha because they need constant movement otherwise they loose interest. Too bad its based on battleships, I would love some lego warships, obviously made up ones not based on a certain country. Quote

Crank was an awesome movie, and that was, for story purposes, actually non-stop action. Having loads of action with little breaks can make for an exciting and fun movie, it doesn't automatically make it mindless audio-visual garbage for people with no attention spans. Try to be more polite, would you please. The cast for this movie isn't even bad. It's got Gambit from the Wolverine movie, Brad 'Iceman' Colbert from Generation Kill, previously mentioned Liam Neeson who is always amazing, and... well, I'm not sure about the calibre of Rihanna's acting, but she seems to be one of the main characters so I guess we'll find out. I'm getting more interested in this movie. It looks to be a neat film. Quote

Not only are you incredibly disrespectful to people who have ADHD, but this movie doesn't even seem that action-packed to me. Sure it's going to have some guns and some explosions, but the trailer looks like it sets up the movie like a game of chess. It can't be that action-packed if it's going to be naval crafts shooting at each other. If you dislike this movie, move on. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Hmm. This movie looks like a nice film and all, but I'm just not seeing where the original Battleship game comes in here. Aliens? Not in the game. I don't see anything resembling the game in this movie, and even though it would be a nice stand-alone film, them pawning it off as being 'based on the classic game' is just a little bit retarded to me. The name would be fine, the endorsement by Hasbro is fine, but saying it is based on something with absolutely no resemblance to it is just a marketing ploy, and is negatively affecting my opinion of the movie overall. Other than that issue, however, I do think that it will be a great film, not like the mind-numbing action films we've seen recently. If the actual film does end up having a resemblance to the game, however, I will be very pleasantly suprised indeed. Quote
