February 5, 201411 yr I'd personally like a nice Sherlock/detective based theme, but I'm not sure how it'd appeal to kids unless it was an offshoot of the City Police line, but set in a different time period (Victorian or early 20th century). I think a film noir-inspired theme would be awesome, and Lego could do it if some of the Indiana Jones sets of yore can attest to (The Shanghai Chase for instance), with some of the classic car designs and some of the minifigures. They even made a 40s gangster CMF back in series 5 (One of the best figs of that series IMO), so really aside from kid appeal and maybe concerns over violence, I think the theme could go far.

February 5, 201411 yr Not really going to happen, but I would like to see action themes with more than 2 factions... you know, like World of Warcraft where there's the Alliance, the Horde and (IIRC) an undead faction and a demonic faction. Not counting WoW which would be a licensed theme, I'd like to see something based on elements, such as fire, water, earth, air, ice, lightning... same idea already used in NinjaGo, but each element (not necessarily all of them... pick 3 for a start) developed into a faction with its own creatures and stuff. so basically pokemon?

Looks like you predicted the exact premise of Mixels, right down to the 3 factions per wave thing! I would like a Sherlock Holmes kind of theme. I don't think that would work. Action themes are about action, not going around searching for clues and solving mysteries. This would only work if it was based on the action-heavy Sherlock Holmes films with RDJ. I think the best hope we have of getting a Sherlock Holmes set is for the Sherlock Cuusoo project to pass. Something like Marvel's series Exiles or the Avengers , characters from all Lego's Action Themes (Alpha Team, Rock Raiders, Power Miners, Adventurers, Ninjago, Atlantis, Pharaohs Quest, Dino, Atlantis etc) repairing damage to the timeline/multiverse, done by a common foe/group of villains (Ogel, Sam Sinister, Time Twisters, Amset-Ra etc) This is an awesome idea! I'm a sucker for crossovers and I would love a story/theme like that! Sadly, I don't think this is ever going to happen. TLG doesn't seem to like reviving old characters outside of occasional cameos. Someone definitely needs to write this fanfiction though!
February 6, 201411 yr There was a pic of an undeveloped theme of the vintage/gangster era - but after a quicke google search I could only find it on this guys flickr: I would definitely be in for such a theme. As for a Sherlock Holmes theme, like Oky said above, the things is, it doesnt sound very action-y... unless it would be done as some kind of steampunk theme (which I wouldnt mind at all). I prefer historical themes in general, so I wouldnt be too enthusiastic about contemporary themes. But a crossover theme as discussed above, however unlikely, would surely have something of interest for everyone...
February 6, 201411 yr I would really like something to do with the American Gangsters. Maybe in the 1930's - 1960's?
February 6, 201411 yr I would really like something to do with the American Gangsters. Maybe in the 1930's - 1960's? That's the idea I had in mind with the whole detective theme I brought up with in the first place. There would be sets with investigations (locations to find clues), car pursuits, and finally shootouts. It'd be a callback to both the times of Film Noir, and the bustling action involved with the 10c comics like Dick Tracy or the countless radio shows involving detectives such as Richard Diamond, Private Detective. Now THAT was a good program :) Edited February 6, 201411 yr by Says Seven
February 26, 201411 yr I think an extreme adventurers theme would be good here are some set ideas- Quad bike- (quad bike, mini fig, small bush or rock) River escape- (Speed boat, 2 minifies, crocodile) 4 x 4 chase- (truck, 3 minifig, tree, leopard) Extreme base camp- (5 minifigs, research station, tents, 2 lions, quad bike, speed boat, helicopter)

March 7, 201410 yr I would think that with all the current love for zombies in pop culture. Lego would really benefit from a proper Zombie attack theme. Taking some ques from the walking dead and plenty of the comics. Sets could be as simple as small broekn down buildings and vehicles to get away from the horde of zombies. I know violence is a big no no for LEGO. So maybe have a set or 2 that has some minifigs trying to cure them. Im not certain of the Monster Hunters success of sales but I would think they did very well and with this as a potential follow up theme. They could make millions !!!!
March 7, 201410 yr My idea: In the time of the knight’s kingdom Lord Vladek and jayko’s son (the leader of a new band of Knights in a final battle are both blasted by the power of the object they are fighting over which grants control over time and matter. The object backfires causing them to become unable to die and age slower than others. Fearing that vladek will never stop his crusade for power and control King jayko seals him inside an invincible enchanted coffin along with the object and then makes his son swear an oath that he and his three knights (descendants of the first three knights of knight’s kingdom) shall defend the coffin which he buries deep beneath his kingdom. In the future the tomb which holds the coffin is found by Borg industries scientists who take the discovery back to ninjago which is currently in the grasp of the overlord. Jayko’s son who is now an older man follows them back to Borg industries tower where vladek is freed by the power of the overlord who desires the orb’s power. Jayko jr tries to intervene however vladek takes the orb and opens a portal through space and time which he swears to use to unite the dark forces of the past and the future to take back the world and destroy his enemies once and for all. Jayko recruits the help of the decedents of the three knights who use modern tech and medieval weapons and sensei wu and his ninja. The sets would consist of all sorts of scenarios of the heroes teaming up with heroes both past and future to stop vladek from creating an army of villains to delay them so he can return to the future to harness the full power of the orb to deconstruct the world and then rebuild it as his own dark paradise. Sets could range from Knight’s kingdom style castle battles, adventurers, monster fighters style pursuits and sci fi agents, alien conquest style space battles. Each set would include well known previous heroes from action themes from the past and present. Also the big epic battle set would be vladek’s dark mega fortress rebuilt with both modern and castle aesthetics and would include about six heroes and six villains like the knight’s kingdom sets of old. March 7, 201410 yr Didn't you just suggest this on the last page? Sounds more like an elaborate fanfic than a theme to me. I don't think TLG would ever create such a detailed backstory for a theme or mix existing themes like that (outside of TLM sets). Also, Knights Kingdom wasn't very popular and I'm not sure how well castle and sci-fi elements would mesh. Not saying it's a bad idea, it's pretty interesting actually, it's just not very plausible as an actual theme.
March 7, 201410 yr My apologies! I'd forgotten I posted the first one! Just an idea but yes it is an implausible one at that. I am not familiar with fan fiction but I would guess this qualifies. Personally I'd like to see an adventurers theme with Jake Raines and the return of Lord sinister. Correct me If I'm wrong but I'm sure raines is related in some way to Johnny thunder. Maybe the theme could have a grey haired thunder who assists raines in solving the mysteries! Sets of 1930's car chases and temples and various monsters and explorers armed with revolvers, their courage, wit and a good right hook. It would possibly follow a different theme year by year, however maybe later in the storyline amset ra could return from pharaoh's quest. The lines per year could have their title end in quest. Like Mountain Quest or Samurai Quest and then the last year could be called the Final Quest and involve sinister and the monster villains from the years of the theme teaming up to take revenge. Locations could range from England, Shanghai, the Himalayas, the amazon, Hawaii, Japan, North America. I'd see it as The Mummy meets national treasure meets Indiana Jones. I'd certainly like an adventure theme and both the period of the pharaoh's quest story and the characters are perfect for the job! I've also noticed that there are a lot of calls for this theme on EB. Would be great if Lego are listening. Edited March 7, 201410 yr by legofreak86
March 7, 201410 yr Yeah, I think we all would love a return of Adventurers in some form. And no, Jake Raines is not a descendant of Johnny Thunder, but Josh Thunder from the Dino theme is. I don't see why Johnny couldn't be Jake's mentor though. They could put him in one or two sets and say that he's the one that Jake learned everything about adventuring from. And if Lord Sinister is the villain, they would have to include him because reviving Sinister without reviving Johnny would be a sin! He probably wouldn't be much older than he was in the Adventurers theme, though, because according to the official stories, Adventurers takes place in 1910 and Pharaoh's Quest is set in 1924.
March 7, 201410 yr My thoughts would be maybe a more 1950's ish Vintage SciFi feel? I know AC was trying to go there a bit, but I was thinking more an early atomic age tale of Men in Black and Scientists and Giant Mutant Ants and such. Maybe figure out a way to do a classic Kaiju type theme in minifig? Brickzilla vs MechaBrickzilla? Give it some period cars, a giant MASER cannon or two. Lots of fleeing screaming townfolk. A clean cut scientist hero etc.
March 30, 201410 yr As for a Sherlock Holmes theme, like Oky said above, the things is, it doesnt sound very action-y... unless it would be done as some kind of steampunk theme (which I wouldnt mind at all). I had a thought similar to this earlier this week. It could be called "Great Detectives" or something similar, and be a team of detectives stopping steampunk super villains. Like a steampunk Agents series of sets. It has potential to be really good, I think.

(Ok granted they were more "diesel punk")
April 27, 201410 yr so basically pokemon? I think more like the old space themes, where there was Classic Space, Futuron, Blacktron, Unitron, Roboforce, Insectoids, UFO etc
May 19, 201410 yr I would like to see some sort of futuristic type theme where the conflict is Heroes vs Technology. It would be a cool idea to explore, as well as give us some nice robot minifigs!

May 31, 201410 yr Heh, heh, Pacific Rim lego would be nice, but everything in that film is on a ridiculous scale....Hero Factory IFB is close enough for me... I would greatly appreciate a steampunk theme. In fact I'd love this as a theme- http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=86960&st=0 Monster fighters was too 'diesel punk'. (I love that term, it fits so well!)

July 6, 201410 yr I would like to see some Fallout sets, that would be cool! Some Steampunk and other post-apocalyptic sets would be cool too since LEGO has never done anything along those genres before.
