I've always wanted a theme similar to Exo-Force to return (I know, big shocker)

For one thing, I love Mechs, that's no surprise. The mechs that have come from lines like Power Miners, Ninjago, etc, to me haven't been as cool as the ones from Exo-Force. They lack that...feeling that EF gave. Maybe it was mix of the firepower and the asian theme that set them apart, but they had personality. Of course that is complimented by a rather extensive story for a theme, and the pilots, which were like a "super squad" (power rangers?) Which is another aspect i very much like. A group of brings who each specializes in their own thing, to me is an idea that I wish would be played out in more themes than just action figure themes. es, there are different characters in every line, but they don't truly take what they are best at and just knock it out of town.

How about a theme set in the Stone Age? :D We can have cool mammoth and saber tooth builds (make it more complicated like the Vikings' dragons).

I'd really love to see Jake Raines' sets continued, as he's really a good modern version of The Adventurers...Johnny Thunder himself had an Orient Expedition theme after his old adventures, it'd be great to see the Pharaoh's Quest team continue in another. The Indiana Jones sets were amazing, they should take inspiration from those.

OK, what about a Fantasy theme? Not like Castle with dragons and dwarfs, I mean much more Fantasy, like Conan or something. It could be a mix of different ancient cultures clashing together, and cover Romans, Greeks, Chinese style but with different tribes, monsters and so forth.

I am sorry but I cannot really get along with TLCs action themes they offer. It's either Underwater, digging tunnels or Jurassic Park. And Ninjago was so so but Chima is really not my cup of tea. I like Johnny Thunder and the new iteration, though - but one could almost argue it's not really an action theme but a modern historic one (except the giant scorpions these days). I would like to see something Fantasy which goes beyond Castle / LotR and beyond accurate historical themes (which we probably will never see). I believe many could get happy with such a theme, sounds like a good compromise between historical themes (we never saw) and action between factions (what needs to be these days). TLC is too much on the boring track, they should be more surprising and invent a new universe, a new world. I believe Heroica is a step in the right direction, and while only a board game, it's success might indicate that there is demand for a Fantasy world which is not Castle / Dragons / LotR but more. Or, I believe I just have to start MOCing...

With what TLC's been giving us in licensed fantasy themes and such, they clearly have proven that they're good at making fantasy sets...they just have to make a new theme. I agree with going beyond the Castle/LoTR themes; I don't mind them being continued, but it'd be great to have TLC's own epic fantasy theme. They might even make Heroica into sets...a very slim chance of that, but it'd be very interesting to see what they can come up with if they do that.

Sky Racers - like World Racers but with wacky flying machines.

Turbo Hot Air Balloon (with big turbines on the side)

Flying Car (50s style, with a hood ornament, fins, and . . . wings that fold out!)

Triplane (or even a quadruplane)

Tandem Jetpack

Robo-Hanglider

UFO (think Spaceman Spiff's craft)

Autogyro

Rocket Blimp

Bike-Powered Glider (Motorbike powered glider?)

Fun things to have in the sets:

Distinctive characters (classic aviators, propellor beanies, daredevils)

Trophies

Cloud-based pylons to swoop around

Net launchers and flick missles

Parachute packs (like in the new CMF), parachutes too

Rock Raiders 2.

Instead of this grossly-colored Power Miners, they should continue the story of the LMS Explorer adrift in the galaxy, trying to find its way home. All of the characters would return with new skins and updated storylines. Maybe they've been adrift so long that they've aged considerably...maybe Axel and Jet had a kid on the journey, and this new child is a computer wiz.

New Rock Monsters, Slimy Slugs, and definetly a new videogame! Give it to me Lego!!!

Rock Raiders was a space theme, not an action theme.

I seriously miss an Adventure theme and I believe I have to wait long to see another one coming. So many licenses these days, so little space for other themes. Also, PQ didn't do that well I guess. I think problems with that theme were TLCs fault, basically. They didn't spend enough time, money and effort into marketing the theme, and the sets were also not very well executed. The characters were not too interesting or got a back story, the flagship set was boring and lacking play features, there were too little figures, as they were all either mummies or Britains, no second faction for the tomb raiders, no locals. In the end the theme suffered from not having any idea what it wanted to be. British war planes, giant scorpions, heroes without a motive? I would have loved the theme to evolve into Himalaya, but I don't think it's gonna happen. Still, I feel there is space for a more serious adventure theme, now that Indy is gone. Ingredients= Good story, interesting characters, different factions on the hunt for the treasure, realistic vehicles, interesting monsters, playsets with actual play features, marketing (web comic, background story). Take place in todays time, make them travel the world in their trucks, planes etc. There are so many adventures even today, no need for 1920s or so. And did I say 'story'? Focus on that. Tell an adventure, everyone will want to re-play that with the sets.

Make it more like Uncharted, less wacky - everyone loves that! Don't waste all your resources and money on the licenses, you can make better and keep your earnings, TLC!

I know this is more of a Sci-Fi theme, but an official Steampunk theme would be nice. I know TLG kind of touched on that with Monster Fighters and the upcoming MBA set.

How about a theme set in ancient Eygpt where a priest discovers a time portal and can see into the future where the evil European people are raiding the sacred tombs of his ancestors and compatriots. So angered by this he raises a powerful spell and with the help of a sympathetic deity manages to break through the time portal, in order to fight the evil European raiders and drag them back to his own time where they are put on trial for their crimes. Maybe a large set where half shows they are themselves entombed in a big pyramid in the past and the other half shows them back in the future robbing and disturbing their own tombs and realizing with horror, but some feelings of remorse for their evil deeds, that they are digging up their own remains! Sounds like an exciting theme to me.

Nah, totally played out and barely touching kids stuff these days, if at all.

I'd like to see an adventure theme pushed to post-war. So 50s dieselpunk-ish in much more interesting environs not covered so far.

I would really like to see the return of an Agents-style theme, as I was a big fan of the original Alpha Team. Also an Arctic theme remake would be great too. Even though the previous one was more or less a sub-theme of city, but perhaps this time with an opposing enemy, or like what they did with Alpha Team: Deep Freeze.

I also agree with a new steampunk theme, that would be awesome.

Steampunk. MBA May be making it, but it needs more.

I absolutely agree. There was an ad for the MBA set in the back of the latest Club Magazine which looked WAY better than the actual set.

^ THAT, Lego. We need THAT! :wub_drool:

Agreed, but wasn't the first one more of a Sci-Fi theme? Weren't they looking for meteors with alien life in them? A remake of that theme would be cool (no pun intended), perhaps this time with real aliens instead of just radioactive bugs. Sort of an Arctic Alien Conquest (Arctic Conquest?). Or yetis, like the one from Series 11.

You are right about the storyline, however it was classified as a City-subtheme, and there was no opposing faction, just mainly Arctic exploration, however some of the sets did include polar bears.

I had an idea for a "Lost World" type theme.

It involves six mercenaries going to an island looking for hostages captured by natives there, to be sacrificed to their alien gods. Once they land, they not only encounter natives but also find various "monsters", (Giant Lizards, Giant Insects, etc. Basically Irwin Allen type stuff from the old days, like in King Kong) and must fight their way to the alien landing pad.

I'd like an Adventurers style Outback theme. Perhaps we could see the return of an aged (but no less able) Johnny Thunder. I think I read somewhere that the PQ protagonist was somehow related to him.

And give us Kangaroos!

Yes! Outback would be great as I much prefer 'Real World' themes to Chima, etc. Perhaps a family reunion between Johnny and Jake? We definitely need more animals available in Lego's own themes (non-licensed) so kangaroos would be a good start but also other parts of the world, particularly Africa (rhino, hippo, giraffes), plus bring back the Prince of Persia camels and ostriches. The sets would be helpful in getting more plants and foliage too.

I agree with you. While the vehicles were actually interesting, the buildings looked just like something that was designed in minutes to get a building for the set.

Other reasons Pharao's Quest failed, may be the lame storyline, that was basically just running from one treasure to another and fighting mumies, no searching for and discovering ancient ruins, evading their traps and find the secrets.

I think the primitive stories the Adventurers comics back then were good. They told a story without completley limiting it. I think letting the adventure take place in modern times would be better than nothing, but some kind of charme would be missing.

A good theme could be the search for El Dorado, the City of Gold. The hero team should be composed of very unique and different characters, that are still kind of equal.(think of Jonny Thunder, and his crew)

The villains could either be some kind of "Dark Power" a brotherhood of gentlemen, who believe in supernatural forces and want to gain world domination. Or they could just be a ruthless treasurehunter and his followers. Thy got the support of the locals. This would give us an interesting storyelement for the older, while for the younger, they are just other villains.

Maybe there could be dangerous animals and guards of the ruins too.
