Zarkan Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Thanks a lot legomilk. I actually like all of these (aside from the monkey), despite them being 3rd time repeats. I love the F-14 style jet, and the house is marvelous. The car is okay, not too bad, and the x-pods all have good models, except for that....monkey? It looks nothing like a monkey! *wacko* The true value of these kits, is (as always) awesome parts in huge quanities! Many fans will no doubt still be picking up these to add some great parts to their parts bins for an affordable prices, IMO. BTW, did anybody notice the new wheels on the car kit? ;-) Quote
xenologer Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 The jet.... I dont care for the colors.... not too useful to me The House.... I've never been much of a townbuilder, but Hey! its got a bazillion 1*1 tiles on the walkway. Monkey versus Robot - as fun as it is to watch them duke it out, I dont need either. on the good side The car, is always welcome since I love Yellow bricks; the model itself isnt that bad, its kinda blocky, but the doors appear to open.. which is a nice design feature... It also has some great 1*1slopes, and that windshield I Must have And the mini Excavator and Helicoptor are nice looking, Personally I wouldn't mind the loss of the X-pod containers, i have tons sitting around my room that do nothing at all. However... I am debating of going into LDD Factory right now and trying to duplicate them with the existing parts... Theyr'e small enough that you *might* be able to deduce the construction. yeah, I think I'll do that, see how TLC reacts when I guess right and they think someone's leaked instructions... :-D <hr> Okay, Im having a little trouble with the Excavator. If you look at the picture, the left side (our left) seems to be 4 studs long from the black cone, to the yellow 1*1 slopes above the arm. But the right side, seems to be 5 studs long, 1 for the rounded corner next to the black cone, 2 for the grille, and 2 for the brick right behind the window glass. This means that either... the 1*1 slopes over the arm, and the 2*1 tile over the cockpit do not align. Or the black exhaust cone and the rounded corner behind the grille do no align The problem is that, vissually everything seems to line up for me... even though counting studs says they cannot. Probably due to the extreme perspective of the pic.... Anyone here have better interpretation of what the body is really shaped like? Quote
Hobbes Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 especialy since the new house seems to have no back wall? It seems this house like 4886 doesn't have any interior, either, so I'd take it what you see are the white bricks from the back wall. Quote
Hinckley Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 It seems this house like 4886 doesn't have any interior, either, so I'd take it what you see are the white bricks from the back wall. For sixty bucks it better have an interior...with a working dishwasher. :-D Quote
prateek Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 I love October. Not only is it the baseball playoffs, but new LEGO set pics showing up everywhere *sweet*I like the house. It looks a lot like 4886, but is a good continuation of the "Creator" line and addition of "City". The F14-like fighter doesn't look special because that type of plane really isn't new, and the idea book for 4403 had an alternate model pic in it (just the pic, no instructions) which looked better, to be honest. The rest look like nice parts packs (lotsa 1x1 slopes!) - if the price is right, that is. yay october! Mets all the way!!! :-P Quote
alex54 Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 The new house looks good, a good addition for my town (and some green 16x32 baseplate!). And the others... not for me!Or just for the parts... Quote
ScottManDeath Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Me likes the monkey. Cute little set, ideal to comlement my other creator animals Quote
skinkfem Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 like the house, highly similar to the last building but atleast that means two houses of the same color. witch is good. perhaps i will buy the f14 to Quote

Hobbes Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 That truck model looks good, better than the main model. Kinda looks City scale, I could use that :-) Quote
xwingyoda Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Great pic Legomilk !! many tks !! Do you have others by any chance ? ;-) I agree with Hobbes: the alternates are WAY better !! and that F1 looks MF scale too 8- Quote
alex54 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 The truck looks better than the car, I agree! But I don't think that I will buy this set, because they will have so many others... Quote

Hinckley Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Thanks again, Legomilk. What is with that monkey? Quote
xenologer Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Thanks for the nicer pics! The small sets are definetly looking better. Based on the alternate models, they have More pieces than are being used in the main models. And they're certainly bigger than the old X-Pod sets. Quote
Asuka Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Thanks again, Legomilk. What is with that monkey? Looks like a chicken and a fish to me.... Quote
Hinckley Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Looks like a chicken and a fish to me.... It's not appropriate to say what it looks like to me... Quote
alex54 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Nice small sets, better than the Xpod series IMO. Quote
xenologer Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Thanks to your more detailed pics, I was able to do this: LDD Factory model. Since Factory doesn't have all the same bricks and colors, I had to make it red, and put little lights on the roof where an angled plate was supposed to be. Aside from those little changes, as far as I can see it should be identical. I had to guess a little bit on how to do the backside that you can't see in the box picture, but I'm pretty sure it's close enough. You can buy it Here for 6.96$ USD More expensive than the old X-Pods, but it's definetly larger than most of them too. One Caveat though, the Real one that comes out next year will have more parts, I can already see from the alternate model pics on the box that there are more pieces than just the ones in the Excavator model. (...i guess i could try building them too later using the same brick pallet as much as i can, that might get pretty close to the real set inventory...) What you think? Was my construction method a good guess? Quote
natelite Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 looks like a good replicate. but for that price i rather wait a while and get the original considering there are more parts in the original. i can understand why they charge more for factory (since designs are customized) but if they want pick-a-brick to succeed, they should start making it cheaper than sets. afterall sets are still sold at discounts during sale and that's when most people make their purchases...there is no such thing for lego factory or pick-a-brick. xwingyoda Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Thanks to your more detailed pics, I was able to do this (...) You can buy it for 6.96$ USD Nice one Xeno ;-) Also it illustrates than this is more expansive than regular sets: 6.96$ = 5.54 Quote
xwingyoda Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Once again many tks Legomilk for this ;-) For me this one is a definite buy !! look at all those great parts 8- Quote
Zane Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 It's blue. It's in the first post. :P I'm not sure why the new image was posted..... Are the colours inverted? Quote
