I have 7 so far. Any tips on farming Fame?

Kill gods. That's pretty much the only way to do it quickly.

...and, ugh, I did it again! After I almost killed Sisco when I buffed an Ent, I buffed a Lich and got Flipz killed. :wall:

OK, I officially suck at this game. At least that Level 3 Oryx run got me to Level 7 before I stupidly teleported into lava... :wall:

Rogue might just not be your class. It certainly isn't mine. Unless you're trying to unlock all the classes, I'd just go back to Priest and get good at it.

I need to powerlevel a Wizard to 20 and try out Necro.

Incidentally, I figured out why our Guild dies so much: we have too few members on at any given time. If we could gather parties of, say, 10-20 at once, we could powerlevel from about Level 5, and lead them safely through godlands. (10-20 players of our own, higher than Level 13 or so, the Level 5s would be random Nexus players, we'd powerlevel them for fame.)

It does depend on what classes we're playing. Skipper, for example, is currently playing Rogue, which is a very independent class, because you have to be soloing in order to get the most benefit out of your cloak. (enemies don't shoot at all, unless they're Leviathans) Also, the more people you have, the harder it is for each individual person to deal soulbound Damage, and the harder it becomes to get good loot. Leveling could get easier, though.

Isn't leveling lower-level characters (level gained in the Party) one of the easier ways to earn Fame, though? Just a thought.

Well, yes, but you need a hundred party level-ups to get the percent bonus. Easier just to kill twenty-ish gods and be done. We actually did get the required Fame after Skipper died. Only 99,883 Fame to go until the next upgrade!

You know, I REALLY hated Warrior at first, but now it's grown on me. I expect the decent sword and +20 armor make a huge difference. :P I think I'll try for 20.

You might as well go for Level 20. If you like Warrior, you should love Knight. Same sword and better Def thanks to the shield. The only thing Warrior has over Knight for an unmaxed char is the Berserk, which means you deal a lot of Damage quickly, but with the Knight, you can just stun the enemy and shoot it while it can't shoot back. Me, I don't like any of the melee classes because I don't like to get in close, but I know that when I first started, I didn't really control myself at a consistent range, and I liked the extra Def. (my first two chars to 150 Fame were Knight and Pally, before I graduated to god hunting and bid goodbye to short range weapons - Pally, by the way, is as close to a Jack of all Trades as you'll get in RotMG: high Def, above-average Att, and a healing ability)

It'll be nice to have more guild members playing melee, anyways. (once you start getting stat pots, we can start selling you our RHearts and DScales that we have accumulated  ) I think Calanon is the only other member playing melee (Pally) right now, but I haven't seen him since he joined.

I almost managed to solo an Ent Ancient with my Level 11 Warrior, but had to nexus out when I got shotgunned and started flashing red. Since there aren't any more classes unlocked just by getting to Level 5 (they all require combos of Level 20s now), I plan to focus on getting as far as possible with a given character as I possibly can before dying.

Most likely, my "final" classes will be Necro, Priest, and Paladin, I'm liking the sound of heal + high defense. :moar::tongue:

well, I'm Level 19 now, with just 1400 xp to go. I've helped to kill 3 Ent Ancients now, so I'm less scared of them, on the other hand everything else still terrifies me.

I must say, I'm getting a LOT better at Nexusing out now!

Also, I REALLY wish I could buy Realm Gold (for various reasons, I cannot). Just two or three Vault chests would solve a TON of problems for me. :sceptic:

Make some mules (dummy accounts) I have 5 mules stocked with fame items and I sniped another free Dragonscale in the Nexus. :sweet:

You might as well. By the time you get to Level 20, too, you should have 20 Fame, so when you finish takeing all classes to Level 20, you'll be at Rank 13 and change the light blue star commonly regarded as the rank of a newbie into a more respectable dark blue star.

Great! Ents will really teach you how to dodge. Start with a simple circling technique, circling around the Ent so that its main shots are always behind you. Then when you're confident in your ability to circle, stand in one place and move slightly to the left or the right as each shot approaches. (though if you're melee, you might want to just stick to circling, because getting in close enough to hit the Ent greatly decreases the time you have to react if you're just sidestepping)

I think we all wish for more Gold. Especially for the times when I feel like playing something else, but don't want to kill off my Necro.

That's nothing. I have eighteen mules right now, and I need a color-coded Excel spreadsheet to keep track of all my stuff. (what's really tough is thinking up for each one a variant spelling of 'Brickdoctor' or 'Blokdoctor' for its name  )

I named mine after jedi. There's Ki-Adi Mundi, Kenobi, Volcantor and I forgot the others.

Blokdoctor is you? Have you invited all your mules to the Guild? (That way if they die and have any Fame at all it goes to the Guild.)

I'm going to set up my primary mule when I get back from class, and maybe a specific one for rings. I think if I really start going at it with mules, I'll organize them by equipment type, not class.

EDIT: 500 xp to go!

EDIT 2: Made 20!

EDIT 3: Aaaand solo'd a spider den. Took FOREVER, but was worth it. 4 Fame just from that den!

I just registered and I'd like to join the Guild, how do I tell which server I'm on?

At the initial splash screen, go to "servers". We usually play on EUNorth2.

I only invited the one. He was my first mule, but, for some reason, he's also the only one I can't trade with. I got tired of people ninja-ing my loot when I had to drop it in the Nexus, switch tabs, and pick it back up, so I invited him so that I could do that in the safety of the Hall. My mules never see battle, so there's no reason for the rest to be a part.

Congratulations on soloing your first true dungeon, by the way.

After you click 'Play' from the main menu, watch the blue text in the bottom left corner. It'll say "Connecting to Server Name". (e.g., USEast3, AsiaSouthEast, EUWest, etc.)

Alternatively, from the main menu, you can click on 'Servers' and select EUNorth2 from the list. (which is the server we usually play on) What's your username?

Yeah, I'd like to avoid ninja loot, so once I get one or two mules, I'll try and get them in.

Man, I am loving the dragon scale armor. Keeps me alive quite a while, I can run right up to those dragon things and other stuff and sword it to death without dying.

EDIT: If anyone finds a good helmet for Warriors, hang onto it for me, mine is OK but could be much better.

Okay, you need to go to the golden statue in the Nexus and select a unique name. I'll see if I can find you.

Username changed to PoisonKate. :classic: I'll be right where I described, by the Amulet of Resurrection.
