Brickdoctor Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 I was running around USWest like an idiot looking for you, Doc. There're four of us on EUNorth2 right now. Did you chat us? Skipper and I were at Oryx, so we might not have seen it. Quote

Sometimes I hate time zones. I just woke up and its 6:20. It was a lot better in the holidays. I saw you, Skipper and Deer a lot. Quote

You always get on just as I get off, and I don't want to start playing because I know I'll end up playing past 2am. And on that note, if you still read this thread, Brickadeer, we all want you to come back from your ragequit! (you, too, CMP) And welcome to the guild, Poison Ivy! Quote
Poison Ivy Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 And welcome to the guild, Poison Ivy! I'm waiting in the Guildhall for anyone who wants to play. Just accidentally killed my Level 6 Archer, but I'm doing okay now. Quote
Flipz Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 (edited) OK, I made my first mule, FreeFlipz. I'd like him in the guild as a mule for everyone else once I unlock Paladin and Necromancer, and then I'm going to just drop equipment on him for anyone to use as needed. EDIT: Note that he has no staff or spell for now, they're in his Vault. Hmm...suggestion for the developers, Guilds should have a community vault as well as each member's personal one(s). K-Nut Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I have really bad lag all of a sudden whenever my character moves. Has this happened to anyone else? Quote

CMP Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 It was more like 'I got bored...and Skyrim' than ragequitting. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 Is it whenever you move like me? I've had this problem for a few days. No, it's whenever there are too many n00bs on the server or when I play for hours without stopping. (I read on the forums that there's a memory leak somewhere in the program, so I just quit my browser, get back on, and everything's fine as long as there aren't too many people) Or whenever there's a complicated animation going on. Skipper says lag gets worse whenever I fire my ten-shot staff, and I lag whenever I or another Necromancer takes HP from an excessive amount of enemies and distributes it to an excessive amount of players. It was more like 'I got bored...and Skyrim' than ragequitting. Oh. I do remember that you were saying that you wished there was more to do than kill stuff in the game. (which there is: loot and XP ) Quote
Flipz Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 You know the nice thing about Warrior? except for the helmet, all the gear transfers to Knight or Paladin. I think I'll stay Warrior until I can get a couple of the higher Fame awards, and then I'll drop my epic armor and sword (thanks Hornblower and B&P!) in the Vault, stick the epic helmet (thanks B&P!) on my mule, and suicide run Oryx or something. Then, when I pick up Knight, I'll already have the best gear. BTW, how do you guys avoid getting shotgunned? I get shotgunned all the time, I just manage to Nexus out last second. Quote
CMP Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Oh. I do remember that you were saying that you wished there was more to do than kill stuff in the game. (which there is: loot and XP ) Yeah, but if I recall correctly, you see yourself as Pete. You have no problem with endless stat boosting and strategising to defeat endless hordes of enemies. I need more than that. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 BTW, how do you guys avoid getting shotgunned? I get shotgunned all the time, I just manage to Nexus out last second. Never stop moving. The most important skill in the entire game is your ability to dodge. Know when an attack is coming and don't be where the attack is. (for example, Medusas will always shoot at you - circle them and they'll always shoot behind you; Ent Gods will always shoot where they predict you'll be - feint in one direct, circle in the other direction, then back out or change directions again before they can shoot again) This is especially important for melee classes who have to get in close to the enemy. (bow, wand, and staff classes can easily just kite enemies, which is backing up as they follow you so that they run into your shots but their shots fall short of you) Yeah, but if I recall correctly, you see yourself as Pete. You have no problem with endless stat boosting and strategising to defeat endless hordes of enemies. I need more than that. Yep. I go beyond that, actually. I'll kill off a Level 20 char and level-up again in order to get better stats. Get good stats, memorize enemy patterns, get decent equips, kill lots and lots of enemies. Story of my RotMG life. (though Skipper either does this slightly better than me or has more luck than me, because he's gotten 600% more drops from Oryx than I have) Quote
Flipz Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 40 Fame until I reach 150! At that point, I probably will suicide and play Knight. I'm going to have to set up a mule for each and every class, aren't I? Raaaaaage at miniscule inventories. Quote

Reached Level 10 with my Wizard so far, getting to Level 20 is now my main goal. I've also got a Cloak of Darkness and a Long Sword for anyone who wants them. Brickdoctor Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 I'm going to have to set up a mule for each and every class, aren't I? Raaaaaage at miniscule inventories. Yeah. I have more than one mule for each class, and I try to sell all the non-Necro equips I pick up. EDIT: Now at Lvl 15, and helped Skipper beat the Mad God!:D Oryx is becoming Skipper's specialty. Next time I go in, I should seriously just wait until the second round of phases. I always end up chickening out and Nexusing when I see more than one grenade headed at me. (I call it the Medusa reflex: I've been killed by massed Medusas so many times that it's not even funny, so I find myself doing everything possible to avoid red grenades - even the ones lobbed by enemies as weak as Bandit Leaders) Quote
CMP Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Aren't Assassins supposed to be fast or something? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 Aren't Assassins supposed to be fast or something? Unfortunately, with a medium range weapon, a special that takes a long time to kill, and an average Spd stat cap of 50, the Assassin wouldn't in real life be doing any, you know... assassinating.Actually, they only display an exceptional amount of two stats: Dex and Vit, and Vit is really pretty much pointless if you can't dodge so well that you only get hit every ten seconds or so, so... They're only used at all because lobbing a couple of the higher-tiered Poisons onto a boss is an easy and safe way to get a soulbound loot drop. (but even with the T5 Nightwing, you still need to hit it around three times) Quote

The lag is pretty bad for me, but as long as we stay away from the godlands and events, I'll get on for maybe ten minutes.CallMePie, did you ask because you died as an Assassin? I was checking the Guild Board and I noticed you'd contributed 35 Fame, and Guild Fame was just introduced in this last build. Quote

SO pissed. EDIT: Also, Quest 17. Knight, now, or trying for more Fame with Warrior? Meet me in the game tomorrow and I have RHeart+GShield+Dscale that you can have, by the way. (though it's probably best to level up with lower equips) Quote
Flipz Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Knight, I want a Paladin eventually after all. I'll grab the stuff, but Ima have to ragequit for a day or so after that... Quote
