Brickdoctor Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 As of last night, RIP Skipper's 4/8 Priest with CWand, Bulwark, Old Tops and Exa HP. Died of a strange bit of lag during O1's "Be silent!" bomb ring phase. (there were no bombs or shots, and then there were snowballs and no bombs, and then bombs came flying out and half my own HP was suddenly gone - I never saw exactly what happened but Skipper died standing right next to me just as I myself was reaching for the Nexus hotkey) Quote
Costy Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Officially getting sick of all the lag, rubberbanded in Godlands, ran away and got 1 hit killed by a Djinn. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Officially getting sick of all the lag, rubberbanded in Godlands, ran away and got 1 hit killed by a Djinn. Do you need any equips or even pots? (speaking of equips, I'd stick with T8s until you can max Def, instead of using the T10s) Quote
Costy Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Not quite the best place to be with only 2 people. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 Survived backing into a Skull Shrine, having a Sphinx spawn right next me, getting confused at O2 and taking two of O1's big shotguns in the face - died to a Ghost God. I was backing away from some gods and I guess I wasn't watching my HP bar, because I strafed sideways right into the line of Ghost God bullets at the perfect angle to get hit by more than one of them, started to back away and the next thing I saw was the death screen. No picture of the grave because I was soloing and couldn't find it again. I've still got a 5/8 Priest and a 4/8 Pally with the pots and equips to take a Necro back to 5/8 with T10s, but I think I'll take a break for a day or so. It's the rolling I dread. I'll probably take the Priest and run some more Abysses first; it's only 7 Vit away from 6/8. Quote
Brickadeer Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) RIP :( That's why I prefer to play unmaxed t8/9 characters :) That requires much more mules, though... Is there anything I can do with fame btw? Found out that my mule now has a soulbound ammy of zombification... Edited January 8, 2013 by Brickadeer Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 Is there anything I can do with fame btw? Found out that my mule now has a soulbound ammy of zombification... People were Fame-farming and multiboxing and duping to get more Ammies - Kabam's solution was to make them soulbound and essentially worthless. There's supposed to be some sort of Fame-Gold conversion system in the works, but I haven't heard much about it. Quote
Brickadeer Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Thanks. So far, I got a few pots and died a few times. What I find is that it seems harder to make Oryx drop. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 That's the main thing holding me back from going back to unmaxed T9 chars: I end up spending to much time at O1 trying to avoid things that could kill be when I don't have max Def; if I do get hits in, my Att is too low to do significant Damage; my dodging and timing of phases is all messed up when I go from maxed to unmaxed Spd; and if I'm going to max those stats, Sprite Worlds become so routine that there's no reason not to max Dex. (not to mention that it's the most fun stat to have maxed) In godlands, I simply don't kill stuff fast enough to get lots of pots. I remember that when I farmed with unmaxed chars, I averaged about a 5 Def profit per character. With my 4/8 and higher Necros, I can easily get 5 Def in an hour or two. The difference is obvious; about three weeks ago, I had nothing but the reserve pots on my mules. Using those to create a 4/8 Necro, I got to 6/8 within a couple days and before it died, that maxed Necro gave me enough pots to get my Priest to 5/8, my Pally to 4/8 and more than refill all my reserve pot mules, plus a good number of T10/T5 equips. Easily a net profit of around 100 Def. Quote
Brickadeer Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Hmmm right now, I got +64 Spd/Att/Def each and a couple of other pots, so maybe I should make a 3/8 or 4/8 and finally start to use this Cosmic-Staff. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 I would sell the CWhole. You can probably get 3-4 Life for it and use that to buy Astral, Elder, Exa HP. Quote
Brickadeer Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) If I remember correctly, I got Astral, Cosmic (2x), Elder (2x), and I should have 1 or 2 Exa HP as well. Somewhere. I rolled a 592 Nec, so I think I won't store potions but rather start maxing. Hate muling anyway. Edited January 9, 2013 by Brickadeer Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Oh, right, that ridiculously lucky Sorc. Quote
Brickadeer Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Well, actually it was more than just one, but yes, the Sorc was lucky. I prefer the Necro for everything but o2, and he is the one that drops nicely, which makes me wonder if I shouldn't make a Sorc rather than a Nec. On the other hand, people rush to o2 so quickly that I can't follow anyway. I need a character with maxed speed to rush him, right? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 Maxed Spd does definitely help you keep up, but if you want to rush I think you'll also want maxed Def in case you run into one of the minion's shotguns. I did that once while trying to keep up because I got cornered and Confused; maxed Def is the only reason I Nexused out in time. Quote
Brickadeer Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Pitty. Got to o1, but everyone left. I got him down from 58k to 38k, but then I had to leave (took like almost forever anyway). Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 When I first started playing (before the Castle and before the new O1 phases were added), I thought that soloing O1 would be a big accomplishment, but now that I know his patterns and phases and now that he's been buffed to have more HP and Def, it just seems like it would be really long and tedious considering the reward. The only guaranteed loot is two Def and an Att, and I'm sure that I can run (the much less risky) eight to ten Sprite Worlds (the equivalent of two Def and an Att) in the time it would take to solo O1. If I knew I would get the best of each category of O1 loot drop (Elder, Astral, MNova, Exa HP, etc.), it would be different, but... Quote
Brickadeer Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I know what you mean Today, I ended up with finishing o1 together with another guy, it was only the two of us. Then he said, "Hey, what about a WC?", and opened the portal. We cleaned the way to o2, but unfortunately, after some time, I had to Nexus (confused, running against a wall, minions approaching). The guy finished o2 (took him some time), but ended up with 4 pots only. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 Confused is probably the number one reason WCs scare me. The other things O2 does aren't as complicated as O1. I know on paper how you're supposed to get around Confused (keep your back to a safe area, hit 'Left' to retreat), but I always manage to panic whenever I get Confused in WCs and UDLs. Quote
Brickadeer Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 I know what you mean. "Confusion" is one of the few skills that doesn't affect the character only, but the player as well. Quote
Brickadeer Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Can anyone tell me if it makes a recognizeable difference (killspeed-wise) if I use the t10 or the t12 staff? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 Can anyone tell me if it makes a recognizeable difference (killspeed-wise) if I use the t10 or the t12 staff? I didn't see a difference between Arcana and Astral when I first maxed my Necro nor did I see a difference between Astral and CWhole when I bought WC Tops for that one. Everything after Destruction/Horror is only a small upgrade at best. I say Dia is cheap enough that any maxed char should have it or better, Astral isn't that expensive and makes you look more like a veteran maxed player, and CWhole, like all other WC Tops, is to make you look pro or to get the most out of your character if you can afford to die with it. Is anyone else having a problem where that ad that pops up when you first log on takes forever to load? I've tried to play a couple times when I know my Internet speed is fast enough that I shouldn't lag, and everything starts up fine. I get to the char selection screen and the adds on the right side load really slowly, which is okay because I can still click the char I want to play. But then I enter the Nexus and that big ad doesn't load, it just leaves me with the darkened screen and an inability to use any controls other than WASD. (sometimes it eventually loads and sometimes I come back a while later and it's still in that state) Quote

Yesterday, the loading time took very long generally (+1 min. before arriving Nexus), but you particular problem doesn't occur to me. Quote
