CorneliusMurdock Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Or you could just have your flavor cop designed to check on the virginity of people do it. That'd be great if we actually knew for sure Roger was one. I'm not asking him to prove anything right now, I'm just saying that while he did claim it, we have no proof of it. If further down the road he gets cleared, hurrah.
Hinckley Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I found a book buried in the sand called Mafiascum.net. Check out this passage: Mirror You may target a player, thus causing all actions that target that player to instead target the player that used them.
JimBee Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Er... so if they didn't tell you that they were unsuccessful... that doesn't necessarily make them guilty or even suspicious. I'm sure they would've said something had they successfully found the SK on Night 1. They were just telling you that they existed, so that must mean the SK existed. But since there was no kill, the SK must have been blocked or the person they targeted was protected. I don't know who this person is, but what they've said isn't really that suspicious if you ask me. Although I see Mehmet seems to have another suspect. The issue I can see is what the serial killer would become once they are converted. I mean, psychiatrists usually convert serial killers into vanilla townies, but in this game it would detrimental to the camp, as it would grant the cultists one more virgin in which to sacrifice. I suppose it could be possible for the serial killer to retain their night kill action once they've been converted, but I don't know, that sounds a little too good to be true. Os and Issie make it sound like there is a set number of Virgins the Cultists must kill in order to win. I don't think they need to kill them all, and adding one by converting the SK won't change anything. I found a book buried in the sand called Mafiascum.net. Check out this passage: Ah. So whoever tracked you... tracked themselves. Yet how would they get def in the equation? Something's not right here, I think someone must be pulling the strings. Do you have any conclusions of your own given this new finding?

So the living snake, Nancy, being called an artifact, that this person uses to poison people, of course to render them sane. And they keep bringing new info when I ask for clarification that gets weirder and weirder. This person admits to having a snake that bites us at night, and you're OK with this?? So, you're Scum after all, huh? I don't buy it for several reasons. The snake's name is Nancy. You think our horny hosts would name a snake "Nancy?" It would be Willie or Dickie or something like a line from Benny Hill. Secondly, he said he has an artifact. The artifact is a living snake. That's quite an artifact. His claim comes with no understanding of what he would be telling me until after I pointed out that he should've started from "My night action didn't work" so therefore the blocker or protector did something right... There are a lot of snakes out there whose venom clears up psychiatric maladies. Loads of them. Do some research. It's staggering. I'm sure someone will do just that and find one that does. If it's from the Saqqara, I'll back off. But this sounds like total camelshit to me. Is anyone else buying Freud's story?? Do you have any conclusions of your own given this new finding? No. Unless def was targeting me. We'll find that out soon though. Any other thoughts with this new info from anyone? I keep reading it and trying to see how it would match what happened.
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 The mirror makes some sense. It's still iffy as to how def's name got in there, though. That and the pronoun "they". Strange goings on. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a pretty pink dress to change into, I mean, rabbit snares to set.

Zepher Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Does the mirror make sense, though? Didn't we say that it reflects back the actions of those targeting the person with it on? And didn't we get back a cultist result for Mehmet? That punches a few holes in the argument, unless I don't understand the mirror. The investigator investigated themselves... and got cultist?! Which means there's a cultist investigator? Or, you could say Mehmet was framed, but, with the mirror on, wouldn't the person framing him just frame themselves?! The mirror still just raises so many questions for me.
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 To catch the squirrels? No, you need a sequined dress to catch squirrels, silly.
Hinckley Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 If the mirror does reflect any action focused on me, the investigator should've gotten some indication that something was off, like the other two who targeted me did. As far as the snake charmer goes, what happens after the serial killer is converted to a townie? Do they both become virgins after that so there are two more targets for the Scum? How does that help the Camp again??? If the mirror does reflect any action focused on me, the investigator should've gotten some indication that something was off, like the other two who targeted me did.
Tamamono Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 You know what Nocturnal Skill this game needs? A Virgin megablocker. That way we can megabluck all the Virgins and take away the Cultist's ability to sacrifice them. Actually, why don't we just megabluck all the virgins right now. Consentually, of course. I'm not a monster. That would be a fun game. Even better, let's dissolve this lynch mob and make it a megabluck mob. We'll nominate the most likely Virgin's and megabluck them. That way, the worst that happens is we have good sex with an experienced non-virgin. That's a fun game. Inspector Harriet the Super Sleuth and the Mystery of the Psycho Psychiatrist *snip* Wait, wait, wait, now there's a psychiatrist? That can't be possible, not to mention his/her claim reeks of scum. I can't see this kind of game having an SK. If it didn't sacrifice the people it killed, then it could potentially make the game un-winnable for the scum, and if it did sacrifice its victims, then it could potentially kill enough virgins to make the town lose. Really, an SK just messes with the balance in a game like this. If there's no SK, then there's no psychiatrist. It's simple as that. Freud is lying, and is likely scum. Freud has pretty much thrown in the towel in private, but I'll wait and give everyone a chance to analyze the play and see if they can find the lie. Today's lynch should turn out to be easy. Freud is Melaena, right? Judging by the timing of this revelation, I suppose she is. Vote: Melaena Stools (CallMePie) So the living snake, Nancy, being called an artifact, that this person uses to poison people, of course to render them sane. And they keep bringing new info when I ask for clarification that gets weirder and weirder. This person admits to having a snake that bites us at night, and you're OK with this?? So, you're Scum after all, huh? What!? Since when is getting bitten by a snake helpful to your mental health? As far as the snake charmer goes, what happens after the serial killer is converted to a townie? Do they both become virgins after that so there are two more targets for the Scum? How does that help the Camp again??? This is another very important question for us to be asking ourselves. Even if there is a serial killer in this game (which I think is very unlikely), then how would this work? There are no 'throwaway' vanilla townies in this game. The nocturnal skillers are useful because of their actions, and the virgins need to kept alive to prevent the cultists from winning. What would the SK turn into!? A vigilante? I think that is incredibly unlikely. A virgin? Like Betty said, the less virgins are in existence, then the better it is for us. Then the cultists can't kill any virgins. Adding another virgin to the mix is just adding to the cultists' chances of winning. This psychiatrist role makes no sense, and there's no way Freud/Melaena is telling the truth about it.
Hinckley Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Oh hooray. Freud tells me that he bit Betty Boop with the snake last night. So I ask Betty Boop if there was any indication to being bit by a snake in her morning result and she comes back with "I don't have any night action." So, Betty Boop is overly defensive for no reason, Freud is clearly a liar, and Nadir seems to think the pile of camelshit is on the level. Line up, scumbags...
JimBee Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 As far as the snake charmer goes, what happens after the serial killer is converted to a townie? Do they both become virgins after that so there are two more targets for the Scum? How does that help the Camp again??? Usually the Psychiatrist turns into a Doctor (protector) after converting the SK into a vanilla virgin. We gain a protector, but the SK turns into another target for the Cultists. Which doesn't really help us besides the fact that it would save us from the Cultists gaining another killer if the SK so chose to join them. As for Freud's story... um yeah it's whack but so is the cloak thing. In case you haven't noticed Is and Ossie live out in the desert by themselves. The heat must've gotten to them by now. That or they're growing psilocybin. That or they're possessed.

Well, check out what my book that I found in the sand, '>MafiaWiki says about that. When exactly do psychiatrists turn into doctors? Will they protect us with their venomous snake? Why do you keep defending the Freud story?? That or they're growing psilocybin. Why not just get some from the snake.
JimBee Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 They turn into regular doctors as soon as they successfully convert the SK. That's what usually happens. I'm not defending the Freud story, I'm stating the facts for a situation in which there was a real psychiatrist. And I don't think this snake stuff makes any sense, I was referring to what you said earlier in the play. That was before this snake business. I really don't know what to make of it. On one hand it sounds like this person is just spewing crap, but on the other, who would make up such a far fetched story? I mean there's also this weird mirror cloak so why not a psycho snake? I'm neither defending nor accusing Freud, because none of it really makes sense. I'm just going to stick with my vote on Melaena for today. It's almost sunset, so maybe we could return to this Freud business tomorrow, as a possible candidate for a lynch?
Hinckley Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 They turn into regular doctors as soon as they successfully convert the SK. That's what usually happens. Usually? When? Where? I'm not defending the Freud story, I'm stating the facts for a situation in which there was a real psychiatrist. And I don't think this snake stuff makes any sense, I was referring to what you said earlier in the play. That was before this snake business. I really don't know what to make of it. I'm neither defending nor accusing Freud, because none of it really makes sense. Well, I'm inclined to believe the mirror story because it happened to me. If I had a snake named Nancy that turned crazy people sane, by all means I would be inclined to believe that. But let's compare the stories real quick. I was protected with a mirrored cloak. And then there's some verifications from the people who targeted me that there was something odd with their results. Vs. "I have an artifact, a live snake in fact, that I charm to bite people and it makes them sane. That means I'm the psychiatrist and I'm going to save everyone from the serial killer." The weird clarifications just kept pouring in and I think he tried to make the role match the "psychiatry" term by claiming the snake's venom makes someone sane. I think it was a desperate attempt to sound legitimate. I'm just going to stick with my vote on Melaena for today. It's almost sunset, so maybe we could return to this Freud business tomorrow, as a possible candidate for a lynch? Gotcha. Good plan.
XimenaPaulina Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 (Damn Andrea keepin' me occupied once again in my day-dreams... ) While I am still highly suspicious of Ms. Balls, a "voice of reason" and a "good counsel" advised me privately that Ms. Balls' scummy voting behavior yesterday might just be due to her inexperience in life. And with another blockbuster revelation by our ever-so-hardworking Mehmet the Slut, I am inclined to believe her findings on Melaena. Between Ms. Taylor and Ms. Boots, I'm more willing to give a chance to another desperado claiming as a Virgin (but seriously this is the last time I'll believe such a claim!) than someone who hasn't been much helpful to us (except for giving me one oily and greasy good time yesterday ) and was caught in a LIE! I'm sorry Ms. Boots, I cherish the short time we've spent together, but I will have to: Unvote: Ophellia Balls (fhomess) and Vote: Melaena Tools (CallMePie)
JimBee Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Hm. Which edition of MafiaWiki is that? The one I read said that psychiatrists revert to doctors after they convert. There must have been some changes to the volume along the way... ever read Dystopia? I know a guy who knows a guy who knows the author. It had a psychiatrist/psychopath pair in it, and that's what would've happened to the shrink if he had successfully converted the psychopath. If I recall correctly, the author drew that effect from an older version of MafiaWiki. So, sorry for the confusion, I don't know what happens to the shrink if/when they convert the SK.
def Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 There hasn't been a psychiatrist in games here in the past, and scum have been criticized and caught in the past for making weak claims to justify them being out at night... So, psychiatrist would be a good false claim to make, plausible to occur, but still unlikely. Anyway, I'm going for a long, long stroll, and (hopefully) won't be hanging around here when the sun goes down, so I'm going to drop another "fact bomb" on the group: My investigator was also told that they 'thought' they investigated Mehmet, which is why I didn't come down on him due to the investigation today. I was told this at the time, well before the Mirror Cloak story came up. It was in the best interest of town to have discussion without confirming any part of his story so I held it out. That discussion has come and went, and now we seem to be focusing on that barnacle on a camel's bottom, Melaena Stools. Will she be scum? Hard to say, but she should be role-claiming pretty soon. If someone else wants to repost my banner for her, by all means
Hinckley Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 My investigator was also told that they 'thought' they investigated Mehmet, which is why I didn't come down on him due to the investigation today. Thank you. Since it seems things are going that way, for everyone to make as strong a decision as possible. Freud is Malaena Stools. It was in the best interest of town to have discussion without confirming any part of his story so I held it out. Denying it when directly asked sure was helpful.

CMP Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Well, my big fat juicy goose is cooked. I can perfectly believe you don't think my claim makes sense at all. It doesn't. I don't have much to say at this point. Keep your friends close, your enemies closer, and your virgins closest.
def Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 We're going to need to dig a bigger hole! Sorry, I misread your post. I didn't deny it, I just ignored you. There is a big difference between the two. I should have corrected that. I stand by my point that I was able to see more by leaving that out until later, and add that no harm was done, since I wouldn't have let it come to a vote. Therefore, it was helpful Well, my big fat juicy goose is cooked. I can perfectly believe you don't think my claim makes sense at all. It doesn't. That's two games in a row I caught you Yeah, it's okay if you hate me from now on, I'll understand. I will say that you changed your tactics this time, sort of. Actually, not that much . Oh well, see you on the other side

Way to waste everyone's time instead of making it clear that there was verifiably something wrong, yet consistent, with the results of the Actions that focused on me. Sorry I don't see how that really helped anybody. Perhaps you can enlighten me? There must be something I'm missing. You're a real great guy! fhomess Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I suppose there is still a possibility that Ms. Stools isn't a cultist, but it seems incredibly small at this point. Unvote: Jennifer Taylor (Sandy) Vote: Melaena Stools (CallMePieOrDie)
