Cecilie Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 If you really are a flavour cop, give us your results. I don't think we really want him to out virgins in thread, that will just make it easier for scum to know who to target. Which is exactly why I find his role to be a bit odd for being a townie role. I would think this would be a very good role for scum to have, since they need to kill the virgins. Just saying... His roleclaim doesn't exactly clear him as town.
def Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I would think this would be a very good role for scum to have, since they need to kill the virgins. Wouldn't it be better for scum to "test" for virgins by simply killing people? There is no advantage for them to take one night to find them. It's possible it's a role as the part of some experiment, but I don't see much point to it. Also, Mehmet Attabar was apparently investigated last night and was found to be a cultist If there is a second claimed investigator, let me know, I suppose, and maybe we'll know if we have any conflicts going on, otherwise, we'll only have one way to test the one we have...

Quite shocking, if you're telling the truth. I had said earlier that people shouldn't reveal their roles, especially not on day one. I'm not even sure why people would go to one person.
Sandy Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Also, Mehmet Attabar was apparently investigated last night and was found to be a cultist It looks like my suspicions were right. If this is true, most of the roles in Mehmet's list can be made up. I just can't believe that many people actually trusted him... But if we can eliminate Mehmet now, we can still gain an upper hand over the cultists.
Cecilie Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Wouldn't it be better for scum to "test" for virgins by simply killing people? There is no advantage for them to take one night to find them. It's possible it's a role as the part of some experiment, but I don't see much point to it. Maybe you're right. But I'm guessing they can both kill and investigate on the same night, so it would help them determine who to kill. But I guess it really doesn't matter to them as long as they can kill us all off... And just for the record, I'm not accusing him of being scum, I'm just saying his roleclaim doesn't automatically make me trust him. Also, Mehmet Attabar was apparently investigated last night and was found to be a cultist If Mehmet really is a cultist, and he is speaking the truth about how many people have trusted him with their roles, then we are in real trouble...
XimenaPaulina Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Also, Mehmet Attabar was apparently investigated last night and was found to be a cultist If there is a second claimed investigator, let me know, I suppose, and maybe we'll know if we have any conflicts going on, otherwise, we'll only have one way to test the one we have... Wow, this was indeed quite shocking and troubling news at the same time. Unfortunately for Mehmet, the only way to verify the result is to sacrifice him... I had said earlier that people shouldn't reveal their roles, especially not on day one. I'm not even sure why people would go to one person. It looks like my suspicions were right. If this is true, most of the roles in Mehmet's list can be made up. I just can't believe that many people actually trusted him... But if we can eliminate Mehmet now, we can still gain an upper hand over the cultists. Looks like we were all right to doubt that that many people will trust Mehmet on Day 1. I also previously stated that I found it unfathomable for him to acquire all those significant info on the first freakin' day! I was right to think that only dumbos would be foolish enough to reveal their roles this early, no matter how if virtual force was used. His "list" was too good to be true and it was just probably made up. And it was easy for him "to clear" Mr. Fitz because he knew all along that he's Innocent, granted he is indeed a Cultist.
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 That is quite the shocker, Patrick. I hope you have good reason to trust your source.
def Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 That is quite the shocker, Patrick. I hope you have good reason to trust your source. Well, investigations are as trustworthy as they are trustworthy. I think you know how it is. I have no reason to doubt that someone coming to me with that claim is telling the truth, from their perspective. Reasons like this: -Lying will put them under pressure the next day, and it wouldn't be worth it for scum to out themselves for the sake of taking out one person, when they could probably just kill them if they really wanted to. -Mehmet was a much more likely subject for investigation than most of us, given his attitude yesterday. -Since the two deaths so far were pure, we can safely say they had no night actions. Therefore, if there is another investigator, they are able to step forward (in private) and counter-claim, and we can figure out if there are any crazy people here. So, I have no doubt in the truth of the claim, but of course there is always doubt in the truth of an investigation. Right?
Fugazi Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 So, I have no doubt in the truth of the claim, but of course there is always doubt in the truth of an investigation. Right? This sentence neatly summarises our dilemma -- do we trust the investigator to be sane, and possibly lose another townie and a full day? I am aware that sometimes investigators wait until they have two results before going public with their findings, in order to avoid embarassment and possibly death if their results prove inaccurate. On the other hand, I understand that we're talking about the one who intends to coordinate actions for the whole town, so any suspicions should be voiced as soon as possible, as I mentioned earlier, before too much damage is done. Patrick, do you have every reason to believe that this investigator has been acting as a townie would and hasn't had suspicious behaviour so far in this predicament?
def Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Patrick, do you have every reason to believe that this investigator has been acting as a townie would and hasn't had suspicious behaviour so far in this predicament? Well, it wasn't Jennifer Taylor, if that's what you're asking Anyway, no, I don't find this person more suspicious than anyone else... And it wouldn't make much difference, would it? Half the people here have been labeled suspicious by at least someone. If you were a cultist, would you, on day two, make a false investigator claim in order to get rid of one person? I think it's unlikely.
Fugazi Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Anyway, no, I don't find this person more suspicious than anyone else... And it wouldn't make much difference, would it? Half the people here have been labeled suspicious by at least someone. Indeed, but I'm asking for your opinion as a confirmed townie, since half of the suspicions flying around are probably coming from cultists. If you were a cultist, would you, on day two, make a false investigator claim in order to get rid of one person? I think it's unlikely. Unlikely, agreed. Though that person can always pretend to be insane the next day. Not the best strategy, but perhaps one justified by tight townie cooperation?
def Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Unlikely, agreed. Though that person can always pretend to be insane the next day. Not the best strategy, but perhaps one justified by tight townie cooperation? Let's wait to see if a counter-claim is made. There's lots of time in the day. I do think it's a mistake to work under the assumption that an investigator is insane though.
Tamamono Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Take this with a grain of salt, and it's not necessarily aimed at you, but... No shit! Seeing the Scum win condition, they had no clue of the term Virgin, simply reference to pure ones. So, any hypothesizing that I was a scum member trying to reveal the scum winning condition to town on day one ( ) was just utter bollocks. I never suspected that you were scum trying to reveal the scum winning condition to everybody on Day 1, I was just commenting on the fact that it's actually confirmed now. Chill. Hmmm, mr Bennett makes a good point, I am interested to hear what Ms Balls and Ms Taylor have to say for themselves, AS WELL as Captain Roger. If Goodenarde's claim he made yesterday was true, surely, he would not mind telling us the result from his nocturnal actions? To me it seems that that is just another lie, trying to defend yourself. Yesterday you CLAIMED to be able to see who the virgins are, I didnt believe you were innocent, but apparantly some people did. You were pretty close to being lynched, until some people suspicially changed votes, taking the heat off of you. Without some proof, you are still marked as prime suspect in my book. If you really are a flavour cop, give us your results. Right now, I am inclined to believe your claim yesterday was an act of desperation, a last resort. If you want to avoid my vote, you better give us a result, and it better be good. What the hell have you been smoking, Mellifluous!? If he gives us his results, then it will only benefit the cultists! Judging by the wording of his reply to you, he's found a virgin, and if that's true, then outing that virgin in the day thread will get him/her killed! Think, Mellifluous, think! His role claim doesn't make him town, but it does make it worthwhile to give him the benefit of the doubt. Wouldn't it be better for scum to "test" for virgins by simply killing people? There is no advantage for them to take one night to find them. It's possible it's a role as the part of some experiment, but I don't see much point to it. WHAT!? Damn it, I really hope that investigator is insane/paranoid (or Mehmet was framed - after all the attention he attracted in the day thread yesterday, I wouldn't be surprised if he was), because if Mehmet is really a cultist, then our power roles are in trouble. If this investigator is for real (and even more so if he's not), then he would have no reason to lie to you. I'm just having a hard time believing that Mehmet is actually scum.
Fugazi Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Let's wait to see if a counter-claim is made. There's lots of time in the day. I do think it's a mistake to work under the assumption that an investigator is insane though. Amen to that. Something tells me that I should go get some pop-corn.

XimenaPaulina Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 if Mehmet is really a cultist, then our power roles are in trouble. Not if "the list" is a but a figment of Mehmet's creative imagination. Judging by his ability to come up with convincing impromptu plays in a jiffy without breakin' a sweat, I'd say there's a good chance he could have very well just made up said list to gain our trust and for us to believe him. Even if he happens to be a cultist, there is still that chance that that many people were not dumb enough to trust an unconfirmed innocent, and all those superhero-coded role-claims could've been just purely fictional. The way I see it (from the outside looking in) is that the more realistic and more logical role-claim is the "supposed" investigator approaching Mr. Fitzzzzz after he was cleared, ironically, by Mehmet early today (and by virtue of our hosts' revelation of the true nature of the Cultists win condition), compared to the dumbfounding 11 Significant Info gained by Mehmet on Day One! Count guys Count! 11! 3 Virgins and 8 Nocturnal Skill Wielders? 1-2 dumbos blindly trusting Mehmet perhaps I'll believe, but 11 dumbos?? List of claimed roles Donald Duck - Virgin Daisy Duck - Virgin Scrooge McDuck - Virgin Magilla Gorilla - Protector, (verifiable conditions) Scooby-Doo - Perhaps a tracker? (said would give me results after seeing what occurred during the night) Superman - Has a verifiable strong role that can certainly come in handy. Waiting for verification. I wouldn't want the cultists to even know what this one does. Inspector Gadget - Some form of investigator? Will let me know once the results are in. Iron Man - Can't be killed at night Batman - Vigilante The Thing - Blocker and Roger Goodenarde claims to be a flavor cop capable of seeing who is pure and who is not pure. Amen to that. Something tells me that I should go get some pop-corn. Hell is about to break loose when Mehmet wakes up! This is gonna be mighty interesting...

I really hope that's the case, because if it's not, then the town blocker, vigilante, Superman (whatever the hell that is ), and plenty of other roles are useless, because they're all known by the scum. Hell is about to break loose when Mehmet wakes up! This is gonna be mighty interesting... That's for sure. I think we're in for another pissing match.
JimBee Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Hm. Well, if Patrick is telling the truth, and so is the investigator, Nadir is all for testing the results. Nadir agrees with Jennifer, it is dangerous for one person to be holding all the cards (regardless of alliance), and, as Gordon said, highly unlikely. Really, which eleven people actually went to Mehmet to reveal their role? Did switching the vote so many times make him trustworthy?
Hinckley Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 What adds my worry is that Mehmet tried to persuade me to reveal what kind of an innocent I am just recently, I would hardly call my part of our conversation persuasion. You are highest on my suspicion list along with the ever-silent Betty Swallocks. That will only hold weight after I'm dead, though, apparently. Also, Mehmet Attabar was apparently investigated last night and was found to be a cultist Funny, from what I'm told the person who gave you information said I visited you last night. Which is also not true. I'm not Scum and I didn't visit anybody last night. I was told I had a relaxing night sleep with my woobie. That's the truth of it. I know that nobody has any choice now but to vote my out. So, I encourage everyone to lynch me so that Fitzdef's results can be held to scrutiny tomorrow. And Mr. Fitzdef, just to be clear, you have the worst attitude of any person I've ever spent time in the desert with. I hope you can look in a mirror some day. Looks like we were all right to doubt that that many people will trust Mehmet on Day 1. I also previously stated that I found it unfathomable for him to acquire all those significant info on the first freakin' day! His "list" was too good to be true and it was just probably made up. And it was easy for him "to clear" Mr. Fitz because he knew all along that he's Innocent, granted he is indeed a Cultist. This sounds to me like you're trying to get people on my list to step forward. Those on my list know that what I've said is true and that the info I've brought forward is accurate, but do not claim in thread to spare me! This could be their trick. Trying to get people to claim who they are in the list so they know who to kill. And don't try to tell Gordon in private who you are on the list, either!! Really, Gordon, do you think I could make up a list like that, easily verifiable to be false in only a matter of hours? Are you trying to get people to tell you that I'm telling them the truth. Have fun with your buddy, Fitzdef, insulting everyone's intelligence to the end. Perhaps it's fitting for you to know too, that behind your back, people say you have an equally disrespectful playing style. So, I have no doubt in the truth of the claim, but of course there is always doubt in the truth of an investigation. Right? The claim is completely false. You're either Scum or being played by Scum. Please everybody vote for me today so I can prove this. 11 Significant Info gained by Mehmet on Day One! Count guys Count! 11! 3 Virgins and 8 Nocturnal Skill Wielders? 1-2 dumbos blindly trusting Mehmet perhaps I'll believe, but 11 dumbos?? You're really laying it on thick trying to get people to admit their roles to you. Goodbye everybody. It's been nice playing with you. Please kill me now.
Hinckley Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Here's another oddity, the person telling me they saw me visiting def last night, which is impossible since I visited nobody, also says "That's not a good way to start." Oh really??? Is that so? If I visited Fitzdef and Fitzdef is still alive, how would that be bad? Besides the fact that it's completely false? I went nowhere, I did nothing. I know this person is lying. How exactly does one suspect me to believe that they saw me out and about when I know I was asleep with my woobie? That was a miscalculation on the Scum's part, and to me, the Scum have just revealed themselves. But, we have an investigation result to verify and the only way to do it is to kill me. Fine then, do it. Kill me off so we know not to listen to this investigator anymore. I'll let somebody I trust know who it is trying to tell me I was visiting Fitzdef, which is dumb, since I know I wasn't, and that person can be lynched tomorrow. I really hope that after my death, the information I've learned can be utilized to get the Camp out of this hole in the desert, climbing on a ladder of Cultist skeletons. megabluck you Cultists, you scummy, weasely, spineless pieces of camel shit! I'd rather live and see you all buried, but am just as happy to die in order to bring you down. Burn in hell cultists! Don't you know worshiping an evil God never works out well for anyone in the end? Stupid Rouges megablock Cultists.
Hinckley Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Now that my wheels are having time to turn I'm wondering: Fitzdef, is that the exact result that was given or is there some inference being made? Was I literally investigated and the result came back "Cultist?" or are you assuming something based on other circumstances. I'm just wondering if you're jumping to conclusions based on other possible circumstances. Since nobody is doing or saying anything (Except Aloysius, the camel who summarizes what's going on and lurks the rest of the time - scummy move) I'll try to get some work done, for the camp: Vote Tally Toulouse LePlot (WhiteFang) 2 (fhomess, Sandy) Ophelia Balls (fhomess) 1 (Professor Flitwick) Ishaq Ettaq (Wuntin) 1 (ADHO15) Roger Goodenarde (Professor Flitwick) 1 (Scubacarrot) Vote Tally Toulouse LePlot (WhiteFang) 3 (fhomess, Sandy, JimButcher) Ophelia Balls (fhomess) 2 (Professor Flitwick, CallMePieOrDie) Ishaq Ettaq (Wuntin) 1 (ADHO15) Roger Goodenarde (Professor Flitwick) 4 (Scubacarrot, Brickdoctor, CorneliusMurdock, Tamamono) Penelope Farago (Waterbrick Down) 5 (TinyPiesRUs, Hinckley, Zepher, KielDaMan, def) Fr Thomas Thomson (Ricecracker) 1 (Waterbrick Down) Gordon Bennett (KielDaMan) 1 (Fugazi) Jennifer Taylor (Sandy) 1 (Cecilie) Vote Tally Toulouse LePlot (WhiteFang) 1 (JimButcher) Ophelia Balls (fhomess) 2 (Professor Flitwick, CallMePieOrDie) Ishaq Ettaq (Wuntin) 1 (ADHO15) Roger Goodenarde (Professor Flitwick) 4 (Scubacarrot, Brickdoctor, CorneliusMurdock, Tamamono) Penelope Farago (Waterbrick Down) 4 (TinyPiesRUs, Zepher, KielDaMan, Sandy) Fr Thomas Thomson (Ricecracker) 1 (Waterbrick Down) Gordon Bennett (KielDaMan) 1 (Fugazi) Jennifer Taylor (Sandy) 1 (Cecilie) Hugh Janus (Eskallon) 1 (def) Patrick Fitzwilliam (def) 1 (Hinckley) 24 hours remain of Day One. Eskallon Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Hmm, well its worrying to see that Def. But honestly I think your making shit up here or someone is making shit up for you. I am a tard, but I know this: 1) Mehmet is a good mafia player but he isn't that good to make up 1000 lies and be able to carry through with them. 2) I cant imagine a scum being that active and getting away with it. 3) To get away with it, you would need to be very very careful not to trip up and you would need to be sitting at the computer with notes around you saying each and every lie you made up. I take this game seriously but not that seriously. 4) The biggest reason is one which I wont say. 5) This would be the perfect time to get rid of him for a scum player, it wouldn't require a night kill and is almost certain to get rid of Mehmet, plus once its done and he is innocent, Def you will get the blame and simply shift it onto the investigator claiming his results are in reverse. So, as it stands I am defending Hinck, theres too much shit he would be in right now if he was scum. I will defend him till I see some more proof of his scummyness. If anyone wants to speak in private (PSST DEF) then contact me.
Hinckley Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Some clarification on the person who saw me targeting def. They didn't think it was a bad thing. I mixed their two sentences together. They said they saw me targeting def and said "Not a good start to the day. " referring to the death of Percy. The results that came in for this tracker said he "thought" he was following me. So either his role is faulty or someone messed with his results.
Professor Flitwick Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Now then, what is going on here? Ackbar? A cultist? Well, his behaviour yesterday seemed relatively pro-town. Pizdefilliam, do you think you could have your man investigate either the only people who we can be sure are innocent. Either the priest, or the fellow with the strange eyes? Seeing as their allegiances are fixed and known, we can test whether this person's ability is entirely valid, and act against Ackbar accordingly, eh-what?
