Let the match begin, this time I'm not stepping in the middle  Seriously though, this is quite a puzzle. I think the common consensus is Fitzwilliam is an innocent given the win conditions revealed earlier today, but we've got Mehmet's erratic behavior the other day when it could have been easy to eliminate either a flavor cop, a virgin, or myself at some points before settling on the Tomato. Maybe a risk assessment is in order:

If we lynch Mehmet.

-Mehmet is an innocent, we lose a virgin (which we're assuming since he claims he didn't do anything the during the night) but all those on his list now know that he was speaking the truth and if he passes the list on, then we're still good to go.

-Mehmet is a cultist, we eliminate a Cultist we can discard his list as false and move on, not to mention we gain a true investigation result (are we convinced that a Cultist result was obtained or are we still calling it a conclusion reached by Fitzwilliam).

INTERLUDE

Lunchtime arrives. Mehmet has cooked up a special treat for the party.

6695373345_7a888872fd_z.jpg

'Fish biscuits! Get yer fish biscuits!' he shouts.

'How did he get fish in the desert?' someone wonders.

Ossie and Is are surprised to find no-one haranguing them today. They are forced instead to talk to Roger Workman.

'What do you think, Roger?' asks Ossie. 'Do you think it was fair to reveal the Win Conditions? Hello?'

Roger keeps his counsel.

Instead, Is replies. 'Well, they still don't know how many Virgins the Cultists need to sacrifice...'

'FOUR!' shouts someone.

'Don't be silly,' says Is. 'Four would be a crazy number - the game would be over in no time -'

'FORE!' shouts Roger Goodenarde...

... before sending a golf ball hurtling across the canyon.

' :hmpf: They're playing golf,' mutters Ossie. 'Don't they realise their predicament?'

'Well, golf is a way to relax, I suppose,' replies Is. 'provided they play as a team, and play by the rules, and don't stand in the middle of the ...'

THUNK!!

'... fairway.'

You may now vote. You have 48 hours to decide on a sacrifice.

Some clarification on the person who saw me targeting def. They didn't think it was a bad thing. I mixed their two sentences together. They said they saw me targeting def and said "Not a good start to the day. :cry_sad: " referring to the death of Percy.

The results that came in for this tracker said he "thought" he was following me. So either his role is faulty or someone messed with his results.

Wait, what? I hope I'm not the only one who's completely and utterly confused here?

Now then, what is going on here? Ackbar? A cultist? Well, his behaviour yesterday seemed relatively pro-town. Pizdefilliam, do you think you could have your man investigate either the only people who we can be sure are innocent. Either the priest, or the fellow with the strange eyes? Seeing as their allegiances are fixed and known, we can test whether this person's ability is entirely valid, and act against Ackbar accordingly, eh-what?

I don't think you're allowed to investigate a dead person.

'How did he get fish in the desert?' someone wonders.

If they can have a polar bear...and props from the TV show from the future, LOST, then I can have some fish. Perhaps they are fish biscuits. In that case, I can tell you that Sawyer and I got them by figuring out a complex puzzle. We were very proud of ourselves when we conquered it.

All I will say is that I have a list of 13 people who trusted me enough to claim their roles to me. If you are an alias on my list and I have not represented your information accurately, then vote for me. I think that would be 13 votes I wouldn't get.

And yet, I fully understand if you all do vote for me. There is a claim of an investigation result. It does need to be tested. How else would we ever know if it's valid or not? I'm not going to claim to you guys what I am because you shouldn't have reason to believe it based on Fitzdef's claim. Where did he go, anyway? But, if everyone behind the scenes is telling the truth, then Fitzdef would be an innocent pawn in the plot to take me down. Unless the person who confirmed him to me is lying... :look: Not sure how to figure this all out, but the best way to move forward may be to kill me.

Could four be the actual number of virgins the Cultists need to kill? That sounds insanely easy. If I am a virgin and you lynch me, they would possibly only need one more virgin death to win. That is why it's important, if I'm killed off that the people on my list don't tell anybody who they are unless they 100% trust them. This could be an elaborate ruse to get the people on my list to step forward, so those of you who do believe me and are on my list, don't go out of your way to defend me, it could be a trap. I could leave my info to someone I trust and then just ask everyone to vote me out.

Perhaps that's best. In order to not even show who's on my side, should everyone vote for me? Otherwise, people on my list may give themselves up by not voting for me and passively defending me. But then there's no voting pattern to analyze.

I still think the only way to verify this claim and get to the bottom of the false result is to lynch me. It's a big risk, but it should be done for the sake of the Innocents at the camp.

Wait, what? I hope I'm not the only one who's completely and utterly confused here?

I don't think you're allowed to investigate a dead person.

The Case of a Confused Inspector Gadget

Harriet the Slut: Did you find anything out last night?

Inspector Gadget: Only that you targeted def. Not a good start to the day. :cry_sad:

Harriet the Slut: I didn't target anybody! What the hell are you talking about? And even if I did target someone, how is that a bad start to the day? It wouldn't mean anything one way or the other!

Inspector Gadget: Settle down. I meant it was a bad start to the day to lose Percy. Now you say you didn't target anybody?

Harriet the Slut: No, I slept all comfy with my woobie.

Inspector Gadget: That's weird. My results say I "think" I followed you and that you targeted def.

Harriet the Slut: That doesn't make any sense. Why would a tracker be naive or insane? What a weird and worthless role. I wonder if something else happened to cause that...

If what you are saying is correct, Mr. Cook, to me it looks very much like your being framed, (false results from tracker, and false results from an investigation).

What do other people think about this?

Posted

It's very possible I could've been framed. The Scum would've known someone would want to confirm me and I would be a good bet to start with.

The other possibility is that someone is using Fitzdef. His ego was so wounded by me telling him his attitude is snide and insulting that he has nothing but a blind rage for me right now. That could easily be manipulated by the Scum. Of course they want to get rid of me, but assume I'm not going to be lynched since 13 of you seem to trust me, and that I'll probably be protected at night. If Fitzdef is being used by a Scum puppeteer, he won't see it until I'm dead. At that point, even he would have to admit that I was working for the Town and my list is real. The info I have would have to go to someone, but I would choose the most trustworthy person on my list and a trustworthy backup to keep that person in check. This may be the only way. Until the result is verified, by my death, Fitzdef hates me so much, he would never give up the investigator unless my dead Innocent body was laying on the ground. Or my innocent empty clothes, whatever the case may be. Nor should he. If he is Innocent, he should protect the identity of the investigator until he knows there's reason to doubt him. And if there is a framer, he or she is just silently sitting back and laughing that the framing worked. They may have had no contact with def and successfully given a false result on one of the Campies.

So, what's the best course of action moving forward? Do we vote me out? If anyone is willing to listen, I have some suspects...

If what you are saying is correct, Mr. Cook, to me it looks very much like your being framed, (false results from tracker, and false results from an investigation).

What do other people think about this?

I'll respond twice. I'm not sure a framer could mess with tracker results. :look: Is that unprecedented? I've never heard of that in holes in the desert. Besides, making it look like I targeted def wouldn't be bad since he's alive.

Did def frame me? The protector who protected me last night uses a mirrored cloak. Did the result reflect backwards? Did I show up as Scum because of the mirror? Did the tracker results go opposite because I was covered with a shiny, mirrored cloak?

:look:

What the hell? That would be an extremely annoying side effect to a pro-Camp Nocturnal Skill. Yes, I'm looking at you Is and Ossie. :hmpf_bad:

It's a difficult situation. If Mehmet is on the level, we'd be well on our way to an organized town and rooting out the scum. If he's not, those on his list are pretty much screwed.

I just don't know if scum would've caused such a ruckus yesterday when the supposed flavor cop was on the ropes. It put Mehmet in the spotlight for sure. Mehmet is crafty, though. It could've all been an elaborate plan. I need to think some more about this.

Posted

Really, which eleven people actually went to Mehmet to reveal their role?

Anyone asking this should be held to highest scrutiny. Especially since you just lurk and pooper-scoop and don't add too much to our work here. You're tripping my Scum-dar too. :hmpf_bad:

Fhwa! Mulligan.

Oh fiddlesticks! Well, there goes my plan.

I can tell you that Sawyer and I got them by figuring out a complex puzzle. We were very proud of ourselves when we conquered it.

Bhaa-haa-haa! At last, it's the second day. It only took the bears two hours!

All I will say is that I have a list of 13 people who trusted me enough to claim their roles to me.

The trouble is, the only people who can confirm your story in public, would give the cultists a complete list of people with useful night actions/virgins. Do you want to appoint a successor, should we need someone to take over writing the plays?

Posted

Mehmet is crafty, though.

 Aw, thanks. I am pretty smart. But I'm not being crafty in this case. I'm being 100% straightforward.

I understand if none of you believe me or if I end up getting lynched today. No hard feelings.

My brain is overloaded. I wish I wouldn't have said the thing about the mirrored cloak. It gives the Scum an out if they are orchestrating this. :hmpf: Stupid cloak. :hmpf_bad:

Stupid Rouges Dumbas Cultists. Anyway, I'm taking a break. I was going to post my top suspects, but if any of those names were actually Town, then the Scum would know who doesn't have the roles on my list or worse, the remaining Virgins. Only have to kill four?? :hmpf: That's stupid. Maybe I should throw some patsies in there...but then you guys might go for the patsies... :hmpf:

Taking a break! I'll be fishing if anyone needs me.

Read what I wrote Fishtick! :hmpf: I've been over all of that. :wall:

Sorry. I love you.

Nadir is... how you say... "all ears".

Anyone asking this should be held to highest scrutiny. Especially since you just lurk and pooper-scoop and don't add too much to our work here. You're tripping my Scum-dar too. :hmpf_bad:

Really? Let's see, Nadir originally voted for Leplot yesterday because of his quietness. Nadir explained with more detail yesterday. Then since no one seemed to share Nadir's sentiment, Nadir switched his vote to follow... you. And then you just accused everyone who believed you and followed you to vote for Patrick at that point. Sorry, Nadir now knows to not make that mistake again.

And Nadir is tripping your scumdar because he did not immediately run to you to spill his role? Gee, thought Nadir was supposed to keep that a secret. Sorry, he'll try to be less scummy next time.

So if you have any suspects, please share. Otherwise, Nadir has his suspicions as well.

In case it wasn't clear, Nadir is willing to believe that you were framed. It seems like a likely move from the scum, especially on someone who was very likely to be investigated.

Inspector Gadget: That's weird. My results say I "think" I followed you and that you targeted def.

What kind of a tracker/investigator gets results like 'I think'!? I think you were probably framed, Mehmet. Either that or somebody messed with Inspector Gadget's results.

Did def frame me? The protector who protected me last night uses a mirrored cloak. Did the result reflect backwards? Did I show up as Scum because of the mirror? Did the tracker results go opposite because I was covered with a shiny, mirrored cloak?

That makes sense. I don't think it's a particularly fair role, but it makes sense. I can understand if the cloak made you come up as scum, but why would the cloak show that you targeted Fitzdef? I'm very confused.

So, where does this leave us? Should we lynch Mehmet to test the investigator (or the cloak, or whatever), or should we

let him live even though there's a guilty result on him? I think there's a very good chance that he was framed, but then again, this is Mehmet we're talking about here, and like many others have said, he's a crafty one. What does everybody else think?

It would be fair if protection was the side effect. Give a little, take a little. There are two other protectors, so one of them being completely ducked up isn't too far of a stretch. There are a couple of reasons that the mirrored cloak could've shown me targeting Fitzdef. Take some time, you'll probably come up with it...

I suppose that's true. Hell, if CPR Doctors exist in other holes in the desert, then I guess it isn't too much of a stretch for there to be a framer/protector mashup out there. Especially, like you said, if there's a perfectly fine protector (or two) out there.

I'm wracking my brain, but I can't seem to come up with an idea of why you were seen targeting Fitzdef. Maybe he was really seen targeting you? But how can that be? He's a virgin, and the virgins are vanilla.

I think I need to take a break. This game situation is driving me insane.

I don't really see that we have much of an option here, at least not with the information we got... Either we lynch Mehmet for the investigation result or Mr. Fitzwilliam for giving us the result. No other name has been put out in the table, if we exclude all those "gut feelings" from yesterday.

I still cannot believe 13 of us would be spilling their beans to Mehmet in just a day and a half, and I still insist that Mehmet tried to fish out my role as well - which is something he should not have done if he was sincerely on the innocent's side.

Feeding Mehmet to the statue would be the safer bet, since if he turns out to be innocent we'd know that Patrick Fitzwilliam was either lying or being lied to. Whereas if we let Mehmet live and condemn Fitzwilliam instead, we are risking to lose another virgin, and we'd still be none the wiser as to what comes to Mehmet's allignment.

I really have trouble trusting Mehmet, he just seems too keen on controlling us and being the information-feeder. I just don't see him sincerely working for the innocents, especially not after the last-minute stunt he pulled yesterday.

That's why I will vote: Mehmet Attabar (Hinckley). If you turn up to be innocent, I apologize for mistrusting you, and hope that you have trusted the right people in passing on whatever information was given to you.

Posted

Whereas if we let Mehmet live and condemn Fitzwilliam instead, we are risking to lose another virgin,

Why does exonerating me automatically condemn Fitzdef?

And you are very likely Scum and not hiding it very well.

Posted

To me it seems like 1 of 2 things has happened, either mr Cook was framed, or he is actually a cultist.

At the moment, I can not choose between the two, so I will go with MY prime candidate for being a cultist, Captain Roger.

He still has not given me any reason to believe him being innocent.

Vote: Captain Roger Goodenarde (Professor Flitwick)

Posted

I'm afraid that if I spell out my suspicions and there are Campies on that list then the Scum will figure out what type of Campie they are by process of elimination. I can't take that risk so I will say that my suspects are the quieter ones who have been doing nothing more than posting summaries once or twice a day. My suspicion of Jennifer Taylor is because she seems dead set on perpetuating the idea that either Fitzdef or I are Cultists, and I believe we are probably both Campies. It'd be so easier for her to try to lead a vote against Fitzdef tomorrow when I show up Innocent and then she's rid the game of two strong, vocal, trustworthy Campies. There may be some personality conflict between Fitzdef and I, which is all his fault of course, but I don't think he's a Cultist at this point. His game would crumble way too fast if he was making all of this up.

Posted

Sorry, but I'm not the one with a condemning investigation on my back here... People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, you know?

As I said, to me it was a choice between you and Fitzwilliam, since no other names had been put on the table today. I was merely weighing out these two options, of course there's always a chance that another name springs up today to complicate matters.

I ask that we keep our heads clear, though, and not let a very likely cultist slip from between our fingers just because he talks alot.

Where did anyone put Fitzwilliam's name up for vote? Anywhere? I don't see it. Can you point that out for me please?

Patrick's made it clear that his results on Mehmet are from a third party. Lynching Patrick, which you are the only one to have even suggested, Taylor, would prove nothing and be phenomenally stupid.

Ugh, I'm so done dealing with you. You're just trying to twist my words.

Go ahead, vote for me if you really think I'm that scummy. It will at least show the rest of the innocents not to trust you tomorrow.

... As was the conclusion I came in my musings. :hmpf: Really, people, don't you even listen to what I'm trying say?

I put Fitzwilliam's name up for contemplation because we only have his word about that investigation result. I never denied that he could've been lied to, but I also did not want to cross out the option that he's been lying to us. And the only way to even get close to finding that out is to lynch Mehmet.

Have I spelled my thoughts out clear enough for all of you now?

Posted

How convenient for you to ignore logic. That way you won't have to answer for your potential slip-up. I won't be voting for anyone unless I'm absolutely sure of their guilt. We can't afford to lose any more Virgins.

That wasn't clear at all the first time. Thanks for clarifying.

Is it just me who thinks Mehmet is overreacting a bit to the claimed investigation result? In my opinion that just makes him look even more scummy. I don't at all like the idea that Mehmet could be a cultist, if there really are as many as 13 people who have shared their roles with him. But that's all the more reason we need to find out if he really is a cultist or not. Lynching him could give us some results, but it's a shame to loose a vocal and helpful townie if he was framed or the investigation result is false in some other way. I'm going to ponder this some more before I place my vote.

Those who know me best might call it under-reacting, actually.
