optimus99 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 (edited) I think it would be awesome if they made a special edition set like Zib or Mr.Makuhero. What do you guys think Edited January 13, 2012 by optimus99 Quote
Nightcruise Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 To be honest, I rather see Lego make the Hero HQ building with the bricks and have them as many figures with it. Quote
optimus99 Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 that would be amazing if they did that I would totally buy it. Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Mr. Makuro? Maybe. Zib? Absolutely. Zib & Quadal? All my money. Why? 'cuz it's the bloody Zib and Quadal. Quote
optimus99 Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 (edited) Mr. Makuro? Maybe. I think Mr.Makuhero would be cool. I didn't even think of Quadal that would be epic!!! Edited January 13, 2012 by optimus99 Quote
MakutaDreadscythe Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 I honestly can't see the difficulty. Individual head moulds? Cue Superheroes head sculpts. If they can do superheroes, they can do Zib/Quatl/pie. Quote
Brickthing Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 I honestly can't see the difficulty. Individual head moulds? Cue Superheroes head sculpts. If they can do superheroes, they can do Zib/Quatl/pie. I'd much rather that their heads were helmets, with Glatorian/Hero heads inside. Like other Hero Factory sets. The current non-set forms of Makuhero and Zib have been featured a lot in the animated series and promotional videos/games, so I don't know how accurately real HF pieces could portray them. They are robots though, so they could well be rebuilt in story in order to participate in missions and set waves. Maybe a case hits too close to home for Mr. Makuhero, or Zib becomes a rookie, wanting to do some field work? Quote
Aanchir Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Makuro and Zib are amazing characters, but if they were released as sets then they'd have to be in brand-new forms, since some of the actual recognizable LEGO parts used to build them are out-of-proportion with one another (for instance, Mr. Makuro uses Rahkshi legs and Av-Matoran feet in the TV show and yet has similar proportions to a 2010 Hero figure). Since these are not characters who see a lot of action I'm not sure how much of a decent justification could possibly be created for giving them new, different appearances. Zib is one of my favorite Hero Factory characters, though, so if TLG did decide on their own to make a set of him and treated his design with the same care as the new Hero Factory sets this year, then I'd be willing to look past inconsistencies in his design. Kalhiki Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Story time! Factory needs more Quaza. A Hero team is sent and Makuro and Zib go along (Makuro to verify the Quaza can be used, Zib because he seems like a scientist-type guy). Villains attack, yada yada. I mean, maybe Zib has some training. Maybe he could be a field medic. And for all we know, Makuro could be some Yoda-type guy. Yeah, I'd definitely buy them if they became sets. Kalhiki Quote
Studs Not On Top Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 If Zib was an $8 USD figure I would definitely buy him. Quote
Cirkit Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Makuhero, Zib, and maybe Quadal? Sure I'd pick 'em up. I could see Zib and Quadal being released as a 'Special Edition' set, only available at Toys'R'Us or something like that. Quadal(or at least something representing him) could easily be constructed with existing Lego bricks, and perhaps some new decals. Zib is the one I see a little more difficulty with. I'd hope for a Glatorian head under a new helmet mold, and perhaps construct his body with the new 'wide' torso, with Drilldozer's upper torso piece in white, short limbs, and.. lots of things to think about with him. Best to price the pair at a maximum of 20 American dollars. Makuhero himself brings more things to think about. If he were released, and given weapons/tools, I'd believe he'd be great with katana, be a real 'old fashioned' sort of fighter instead of being a gun-toting type. I would like to see a Glat-head and helmet like the rest, give him the old-style Mata feet, slap on the leg and arm armor, but then.. there's the torso. How would that even be done. Would he come with a 'robe' with standard HF armor underneath, or would he get a totally new build..?? Too many things to think about with him, price included. I'd buy em' all though. My wallet wouldn't stand a chance against it. :D -Cirkit Quote
VBBN Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I think the best way would be if lego went back to Bionicle roots and released playsets, as then many of those characters ans well as buildings would be brought in. As just figures, a lot of new parts would have to be incorporated to make them, so there would need to be some difference in how they actually looks to go about that. Quote
Taaron Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I'd certainly love to see some civilian offerings. With some of the new Hero Factory pieces released this year, I could see some interacting quite nicely with the Matoran pieces to build civilian figures. So, yes. If Lego made a Makuhero, Zib or Quadal (not sure how they'd pull of Quadal outside of the arms, though.. ) I'd most certainly buy it. Quote
Fireburner5000 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I'd love to buy them. I'm getting tired of all heroes and villains. Quote
-PROCTOR- Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 While it would be nice to have them, I feel like they would have quite a few specialized peices. Quote
FurnoGuy Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Ahh Yeah. It would make a stop-motion of Rise of The Rookies so much easier. Plus, it would be awesome. And I wouldn't worry about the miniseries. After all, Heroes still have three fingers. Quote
Aanchir Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I've done some sketches on graph paper and decided that Zib could probably be done somewhat simply with just four new pieces-- a new leg piece (around 5x2, with a built-in knee), a new torso shell, a new leg armor piece (like the 1.0 leg armor, but condensed, so as to fit the new leg piece), and a helmet (printed, preferably, since his wide goggle-eyes couldn't easily be done with just a helmet over an existing head piece). The set could be, in total, less than twenty pieces. Not sure what the play value is, though. If I ever get any better sketches done I can propose it through Cuusoo, although not sure what support it would get. Ironically, I noticed for the first time today that Zib's "lab coat" is based on the center front section of Barraki Kalmah's foot piece. It's stretched far out of proportion with his other pieces). Mr. Makuro could be done similarly to Zib, although his cloak could complicate things. A new leg armor piece, a new arm armor piece, and one or two pieces for his cloaked torso could be sufficient, again in a set at a reasonably low price point. The generic male worker (like Big Joe from the Mission: Von Nebula game) could be possibly the simplest of all. A reasonable approximation would only need a new helmet and torso shell, and possibly a new arm piece. Getting a generic female worker (like Lucy from the Mission: Von Nebula game) to look as she does in the TV series would be extremely hard, since that figure's legs are hugely complicated (take a look in Ordeal of Fire-- it's even more complicated than the legs on some BIONICLE titan sets like Roodaka), and many parts of the model are out of scale with one another. But I doubt TLG could manage to market a figure like that very well anyway. Quote
