This is just a fun little topic inspired from Hinckley's What LEGO mold are you? topic in the LEGO General Discussion and News forum.

What LEGO Train do you associate mostly with your own personality?

(Note: LEGO train set, train car, or engine/locomotive accepted - make sure you share why)

I'm thinking...

I'll kick the replies off then....

I often ask this type of question to the kids I work with, so to be asked it myself is bit of a turn around. I'm limiting my options to the trains I own, so would go for the classic no 7740 - old (I'm approaching 40 next year, suggestions for a mid-life crisis welcome) but reliable, capable of occasional bursts of speed and built along classic lines - read that how you will

How about the rest of you then?

Interesting choice Andy. By description, I was visualizing a more classic steam train but 7440 is electric (you can say like your personality, in a good way - being the first to post as well).

I'm going to go with 3225 Classic Train.

I've been told that I've got an old soul - a bit of a "classic myself".

3225 is sort of a Western mining train yet it has a German DB locomotive. I love mines and the Wild West but still like to think that I've got a strong European influence (giving me a little sophistication) and mix.

3225 is not a complete train, missing the tracks (so I'll say that I'm always wanting to improve my current state but at the same time blessed with what I have (it's still a great little train)).

It's not a huge train or will win any awards for best design, but it's steady, sturdy, and a bit humble for it's classic train styling.

There was a also a great review of 3225 referenced in my own review involving a western-related story (I love those old western stories). Click to read it here: 3225 Review

So, I'm 3225 for today.

I think I would have to say the Emerald Night, I really like large steam trains, they take me back to when I was a (Very very small.) small child. When ever I run it about the track I get that old Saxon song come to mind. (Princess of the Night.) It is just so steam train at least in my mind!

I'm the Maersk train. I'm unbalanced (look at it from above) yet beautiful. I'm complete overkill, as I'm only pulling a tiny load, when I really should be doing much more, but that perfectly describes my lazy attitude. I'm all torque, but that doesn't stop me moving quickly. I'm a little tricky in some places (such as swapping batteries over), but people accept me for who I am anyway. I'm capable of getting places, but limited by the track I came with, I'm neither a follower or a leader, just stuck in this in-between world of going around in circles, and occasionally meeting up with some other like-minded individuals. At least I don't run out of steam!

I can see where you are coming from, but I decided to stick with the sets I have rather than my MOCs, and my version of 7740 is a bit doddery! It currently runs off the same power source as my 7745, and if they both run at the same time it is a bit slower!

I think I'd have to be the Emerald Night. Definitely British, rather old fashioned and with a few design flaws that mean I probably won't run much without having to take a rest.

I would have to say that I'd be 10020-1 Santa Fe Super Chief. Not that I relate directly to that exact "Named Train" but more the hardware, EMD-F7 Locomotive.

Why?

I have a very classic Mid-Western American look, nothing spectacular but still special in my own way.

Versatile, surely I'm not a one trick pony. Just like the EMD-F7 has been tasked with not only hauling passengers they have also taken on freight. Likewise in my career I've worked both sides of IT, while I'm currently a Software Developer I spent 5 years of my career as a Network Administrator and Hardware Specialist.

Aging, while the END-F7 model has a couple of decades on me I have passed 40 recently and am still going strong.

Lots of Emerald Nights - you guys should be more original.

Well, most of the others are European or American, it is just so typical of British steam. Not that I don't like some of the others but it just reminds me of what I used to see when I was a samll child.

I am the 7740 train. I am long(tall), I have eyes on the back of my head(I'm sensitive to noise, and can detect things many cant. the pantograph on the last car reminds me of an extra set of eyes), and I hold many passengers(the fleas that come in for the winter)
