Because we are awesome. We use LDD a lot and we want to make a model with it, but we can't find it. Also, another way to do it is to find the piece on bricklink and type to code into the search.

Others have recommended having old versions of LDD saved so that you can access parts in a previous release.

Perhaps someone could be so kind as to provide links to said previous releases?

Hang in there a day or two more, and the latest LDD release will be out. We've been told all bricks removed in the current release will be back.

Mostly from having used LDD for a long time and hanging out in this very forum.

Those parts can be found in the steering wheel category. A good way to find parts is to start typing the design ID into the search box and it will filter them out for you. For most parts, the design ID will match the ID used on www.bricklink.com and you can find parts on their by looking at the inventory for a set you know they're in.
