Alopex Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I'm Slytherin. I wish to build 38. Junky Room of Requirement. What exactly does large mean? Quote
Sandy Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 What a great idea! I'd love to participate in this as well. I own almost all the Harry Potter sets, after all. I am a Ravenclaw and I'd like to build the Transfiguration classroom. I really don't understand the rule about bley walls, since these creations will never be combined anyway, and in my opinion tan and bley mix well together. Also, the room height should be left at the creator's discretion. For example, the owlery shouldn't be the same height as the dungeons. These are just some suggestions to allow more creative liberties, so please consider revising the rules, JackJonespaw. Thanks for putting this together, I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! Quote
JackJonespaw Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 Count me in! I'm doing #24 Professor Umbridge's Office. And I'm a Ravenclaw. I presume, custom figs and assesories are allowed? You can do custom figs, but only do ones that haven't been made into official minifigs yet. Don't use custom accessories, I'd like for everyone's minifigs to have the same types of wands. I'll take the Snape's Office and I will be in Ravenclaw. Added. This doesn't apply to the "Any Size" category, does it? Is this a requirement? If so, it should be added to the rules. That's quite high though, especially for the 16x16 category. Any rules about overhang? If so, add those too. There is no wall size for the "Any Size" catergory. I'll just scratch the whole "wall height" thing. You were right. Also, overhang is allowed, just try to make it only one or two studs off of the walls. Must there be a roof and can I please use the colour tan in the walls, beacause I don't have many grey. No, there is no roof. You can use tan, but mix it with grey. That might give an "old castle" feel to your room. But choose a room first. Good point. 22 is very high for a bignette. Also a question: In case we're using a diagonal wals (like in HP towers) how should we calculate that? Should it be within 16x16 limit (like in my case), or an overhang is allowed? Could you give me an example? If it is still available I would like to claim "27. Divination Classroom" Please Ps. Do the walls have to be that tall? Because that would require quite a large bricklink order. Oh and I almost forgot, I would like to be in Ravenclaw. Added, and rule changed. I'm Slytherin. I wish to build 38. Junky Room of Requirement. What exactly does large mean? Added to house and room. Large means a 48 x 48 vignette. Added to Ravenclaw. Please choose a room that hasn't been taken. I changed the rules about wall height and color. Quote

TheKingOfBuilding Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) I would like to build #3 Chamber of Secrets. And I'm in Slytherin to add that touch of pure-blood goodness to the Chamber Oh, and because the Chamber of Secrets is rectangular, not square, could I make it longer that 48 studs? Edited January 15, 2012 by TheKingOfBuilding Quote
Sandy Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Added to Ravenclaw. Please choose a room that hasn't been taken. I changed the rules about wall height and color. But the Transfiguration Classroom is still available... Quote

Try to keep it within 2304 studs. But the Transfiguration Classroom is still available... Sorry. For some reason I read that as Divination. Added. I'll do the Entrance Hall and I'm Gryffindor Added to house and room. I'll do 34. Hagrid’s Hut And I would like to be in RavenClaw Added. Try to make it bigger than the official versions. Quote
Matn Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Nice to see a Harry Potter community build. Sign me up for Gryffindor and I'd like to do Dumbledore's Office please. I have something special in mind rather than a square room. Quote
CarsonBrick Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) Yes! This sounds really awesome. I was just about to post a picture of Moaning Myrtles bathroom, so can I be signed up for that? Also, I mixed the walls with light bley and light grey to give it a better texture. It really isn't to noticeable, is that ok? That's all, thanks! By the way, I am signing up under Gryffindor! Also, I just realized, mine is a 32x46, is it ok if it just a pinch longer? Edited January 15, 2012 by CarsonBrick Quote

Lance Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) I'd love to take a shot at the Gryffindor Common Room..... Number 14 please! And sign me up for Gryffindor please Edited January 15, 2012 by Lance Quote
ADHO15 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I'd like to put down my name for the Mirror of Erised room. I assume this is it's storage room and not the Final Chamber where Harry destroys Quirrel? Either way, it shouldn't be too difficult. And I am of course a Ravenclaw! Sounds like a nice idea, JackJonespaw. Should be fun once the rules are sorted out. Quote

Oky Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I`m Gryffindor,Where dwell the brave at heart You might wanna change your avatar then. I just realized, mine is a 32x46, is it ok if it just a pinch longer? I don't think there is such a category. I think yours is just 32x32. EDIT: Never mind, looks like the size is being allowed, although I don't get the leniency. I thought we are only allowed 1-2 studs overhang? Quote

Oky Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 He said the library. Yeah, I saw. Sorry. I changed it. Stop persuading me! Then why have size categories at all if you're gonna allow that much overhang? Sorry if I'm being a pain in the megablocks. Quote
JackJonespaw Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 Yeah, I saw. Sorry. Then why have size categories at all if you're gonna allow that much overhang? Read what I said above. ^^ After I changed it. Twice. Quote
Oky Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 LOL. All this changing around is confusing. Sorry for being so nitpicky. Quote
