I think Main discussion topics for themes should get pinned, so it isn't always in the middle of the rest of the forum clutter.

this should be done to all the discussion topics for themes that are current. e.g themes that have new set coming out and still generate interest.

I really think this would help make the forum feel much tidier and help people find their way around easier.

example of topics that should be pinned

lisenced: "LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion"

Historic: "Lord of the Rings 2012!"

I would aslo think naming these main discussing topics in a the same format, for example "Theme name year" and have the topic description say "Rumours & Discussion"

We do pin a lot, but we don't go to the extent you're talking about. There are several reasons for this. For one, there will often be too many, secondly any important current topic will be on the first page and will be obvious due to the post number, but most of all we've found that pinned topics are often ignored. I think people start seeing them as a boring forum description or something, and then they go and create a new topic instead. So sorry, I can't see much change in this area.

As for the unified topic titles I can see the worth in that, but please note that firstly, most forums are run by someone different so we'd then need to jointly decide on a unified title (which can take longer than you might expect!), and secondly a lot of those topics titles are created by members and we do try to not rename topics unless there is a good reason for it. (This is so we don't offend the member.)

...and on the subject of giving suggestions, please improve your grammar. It makes your posts hard to read.

Also a thread you feel is of prime discussion might not be of any interest to the next person.

Granted I do agree that the two you presented are hot topics, not everyone is going to feel that way.

If you want to be able to stay on top of a topic and you don't want to have to look for it, then subscribe to that thread, and it shows up in your user control panel.

Instead of pinning a lot of stuff I much more prefer the approach we took in our pirates forum where one pinned thread contains the overview for all the other stuff: check it.

Pinning means scrolling down to see the first real thread and that's rather annoying.

The road of pinning many threads goes straight to hell
