i recently modified my unimog to make it remote controlled, but it will not work. basically i used Junkstylegio's design for steering it:

But the gears slip, and the reciever will not power the motor anyway.

I connected an XL motor to the reciever, it works fine, but the m motor used for steering will not work!

I am relying on you pros to help me and maybe to design a new method for steering this Beast!

i would appreciate any help that anyone could give me!

This method works great! Have u built it properly?

If the m-motor doesn't work when attached to a receiver, the motor may be burned out.

i've had the same problem about the steering slipping gears and not being laggy an unprecice, so i searched the web for 3 hrs straight and found this.

Pcility's brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=487084

i like his steering better because it does not disturb the beauty of the cabin and it's fun to rebuild/modify the front axle :P

hope this will help you out^^

and to the people out there!

it's not that i don't like the whole idea of the steering being in the cabin. it's just that i peronally like the modified axle more because it's fun to build it, it looks nice and it performs better in MY case.

but all in all for those it works for it's a great simple system.
