Great contest idea, I will be sure to enter.

Just curious, though I am sure the answer is no- Are we allowed more than one entree each?

Thanks.

I thought about this, but let's limit to one. Otherwise, we may have a lot to choose from.

Yeah, good point.

Now i'll just have to make the scariest of all.. hmm..

Maybe i'll just make the Quaker oats guy? :-D

-Time to get to work on decals now.

Contest ends October 20th. That's about two weeks.
im looking at my calendar... there is no way i can finish a "new" fig for the contest by the end of next week.

can't we make the deadline, halloween night... or maybe the eve ???

or did you want to announce the winners then ???

Is photo editing allowed? like adding backgrounds, making eyes light up, etc.
i sure hope so ;-)

I'm in the same case than starwars4J, so I couldn't enter even if I would, but I don't go to my parents home until 3 weeks so I could't make my minifig... or maybe my heroe contestor is a spooky one... :-D

Stop playing video games with your ColecoVision and go back to work. >:-)

I post mine and I'm surely twice lazy as you. :-P

Happy halloween.

Photo editing is allowed if it does not create a new piece or change the overall appearance of a part of the fig. Example: glowing eyes is OK (like my avatar). One could still tell it's the skeleton skull, but a photo created torso or change in the complete color of the legs or torso would not be permitted.

Remember also that this is not a graphic contest (sorry Brick Miner), but rather the ability to create a spooky fig using Lego parts. I'm not a big fan of stickers for torsos either, but some of you like to do this, so allowed.

Judging should be based on the fig, not the background image.

But let's have fun with this and just build some spooky figs. Don't worry so much about all the does and don'ts. You're making this way to complicated. Build some figs using existing Lego parts and share a pic of it. The easier we make it, the more fun.

PS. How long does it take you to build a fig? Why on Earth would it take a week or two? Are you ordering pieces or molding the parts yourself? Just build the fig! ;-)

my figs and MOCs look just as good in real life as they do in the finished, LEGOish box art version. in my opinion, they look better... but im the only one who would know that, sadly.

im waiting on parts from BL...

if my order arrives by the deadline date, i will enter the new Ghost Town fig. otherwise, i will enter the Ghost Miner.

On a side note, why don't you post some of your original photos without the box art? It would be interesting to see how they look without the graphics.

I didn't mean you specifically in regard to building a spooky minifig. I was referring to all who said it may take them a few weeks to post their image (for various reasons). Why don't you work with what you have?

well, what i have is the Ghost Miner :-D so like i said, that is what you might get...

as i mentioned before, i have an idea for another ghoul in the Ghost Town theme... and originally there was no need to order the specific parts i need from BL for him, because the MOC he will appear in is months and months away from being done. so there was no rush on the order or the parts.

well, after hearing about your contest, i decided it would be a good opportunity to publish the second ghould of my Western sub-theme... and it would be more fun than just entering the Ghost Miner (that everyone has already been looking at for a month now). plus, he might have lost some of his edge ;-)

so basically, i've had this idea for awhile... and my ideas come far and few in between. so to come up with something new, using the bricks i have, is just not my style...

i mean i could do that, but that wouldn't be a Brick Miner construction... its just not my style ;-)

i treat LEGOs as a work of art... i contemplate design and construction to no end. and i don't rush anything, because in art, that results in regrets.

Nice fig, Yoda. :-) I don't think the picture is bad, and the dark lighting actually makes it more 'spooky', IMO.

Tks Dillon hehe. I played with the flash on purpose because the lighting is horrible lool Actually I like that over exposition hehe. It just proves that a flash can have a better effect than CGIs and complicated pic editing :-D :-P
