I use Peeron.com to inventory my loose parts collection. I also use Bricklink to help identify pieces. I have been inventorying an incomplete Vladek's Dark Fortress. The Bricklink inventory says that the horse helmet should be blue-violet. But the helmet I have is blue. Bricklink lists the blue helmet as an alternate part. My question is does anyone know what the reason is for these alternate piece colors? Does it have to do with country of sale, or rarity?

Hi, I built that set not too long ago from brand new box in Canada.

Taking a quick look at my display I see 1 Light-Blue horse helmet (same color as Jayko's armor)

and 1 normal blue horse helmet. I'm 99% sure this is not 'blue-violet' as bricklink says. Theres no extra helmets or anything.

The blue-violet horse helmet is included in 8781 Castle of Morcia and its clearly different than the one in 8877.

I built both castles from MISB - one set had blue helmet, one had blue-violet helmet as ihira stated. It is possible that some 8877 sets were released with blue-violet helmets, or that the inventory was originally incorrect.
