lerico Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I am a real beginner, this is nothing compare to the MOC posted on this forum. But here it is. I am in the process to put all my Kingdoms set into a proper scene. Dharkan Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Very nice and smooth MOC. Also the scene is very well executed :) good job! Quote
Zeya Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Looks pretty solid! I'm really loving the archer in the tree! He really blends in with the leaves and gives this scene a sense of action. The trees themselves are very well done. You could make this MOC a little better by adding some variation to the gray path. You can lay down round studs in grays and earth tones to make it seem like a stone path. More flowers and grass on the ground would help too, if you have it. Quote
trooper 278 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 The atmosphere seems perfect to me.... Quote
smitty9999 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I like it. It's not too over the top with complex buildings and scenery. Great job. Quote
de Gothia Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I like it a lot! The whole scene has a classic castle touch to it but mixed up with the news from 2011! Great done! Your minifig posing is excellent and makes the moc so much better. My favourite posing is the attacking axe man waiting to strike! Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Well, I'm impressed....excellent work 'lerico', and those trees are just the bomb ! Great scene setting as well, looks like their lunch will be spoiled now ! Nice flower beds, the king likes his grounds well groomed eh ? Again, great work 'lerico' and Brick On ! Quote
Flea Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 don't be too hard on yourself! I really like this moc! theres nothing wrong with it. remmember best solutions are the simple ones ;) Quote
Dwellington Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Yeah, this MOC is hardly what I'd call "beginner." It's pretty solid all around I think. It's got a very immediate feeling kinda story. Those Lion knights are totally done for. Quote
Brinstar Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I like this a lot. You've taken the idea of the Kingdoms Outpost Attack set and turned it into something much more substantial. The construction of the outpost itself is solid and very much in keeping with the Kingdoms theme. The placement of mini-figs helps to tell the story whilst the landscaping and especially the excellent trees help to bring the scene alive. Absolute beginner? Not on this evidence. Quote
Fredulus Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 (edited) Heh.. "Beginner"! I love it! The trees are extremely well done IMO, they have a thick and strong feel to them that I haven't seen in many LEGO trees before. The whole thing feels like it would be a wonderful addition to the Kingdoms lineup. Great job! Edited January 18, 2012 by Fredulus Quote
lerico Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Thank you all for positive replies. Yes, I like the trees a lot, but they are very part consuming. I am now working on putting MVR and Blacksmith attack on a scene, not much MOC, but have to create a landscape and water stream. Again, my major challenge is parts. Sigh... Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I really like the top of the outpost tower. The trees are really well done too. They add some size for sure. The action poses really help set the scene. Keep up the good builds. Quote
morganm Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 And what a beginning you have! This is really well done. It's an interesting scene that you have to actually look at to understand; not just glance at it. The design is well done. The trees are awesome. Oh and you have some pretty damn good photography skills too. Don't sell yourself short.... you're goooood. Quote
fyrmedhatt Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) I think this is just awesome! You've managed to create a lively scene in a great environment, and in doing so you've filled the gap left by standard sets that are often static and somewhat unnatural. Piranha Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) I must say this is a really good MOC, you have done a great job Edited January 19, 2012 by Macoco Quote
JackJonespaw Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 This is really great! I've always loved the Kingdoms colors! Quote
LegoBrickSteve Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Ever wonder why the "cooked" Lego chickens are like three times the size of the "live" ones? Do they really plump that much in the oven? Quote
lerico Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 Ever wonder why the "cooked" Lego chickens are like three times the size of the "live" ones? Do they really plump that much in the oven? Hmm... Maybe it's a turkey instead? Quote
Brig. Brick Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 LOL I haven't seen him until the last picture, this is the jewel of the crown! Keep MOCing, we want to see more Quote
ZCerberus Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Are the Lion Knights required to be bald to enter the service for thier king? This is a nice little MOC. I really like how you worked with the dragon knights to make them look like they are about to strike!! Quote
Mencot Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 This is a great little moc. Keep up the good work. Quote
TenorPenny Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 The posing and characterisation of your green would-be ambushers is perfect..! Quote
LegoEomer Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 This is a really nice outpost. I also really like the trees. Quote
