Storel Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Wow, great job Angeli I have a good idea of why the Wanderer is fire proof, and fighting using either hand is relatively easy. Now I need to figure out how to make a minifig that looks like Thraxus (and ask Thrash if it's okay) to use him in a moc or viginette Quote
Maxim I Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 This is what Historica' makes so great: the stories behind the moc's, the sig-figs and not just minifigs! Great job hosting the games! Ereh Ahn Roblaw (wich is a bastard Dutch version of Honour For RedBlue (or Kaliphlin) btw) will be punished for losing against a drunken northman! He will have to teach the new gladiators of Mpya Stedor how to not loose a battle! Quote
Xyver Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Well done Angeli, its was truly a contest fitting of the land of Historica. DehGems, bitterly disappointed with going out in the first round is already back training, next time he will sharpen his claws. He won't be stuck in spider web again! I am proud of him though as he refused to give up till the bitter end and has done his master proud. Well done to all the other entrants, I must say I started cheering for William as the rounds progressed, but it was not to be. Quote
robuko Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 What a thriller! Well done to all the participants, bravo to the master of tne arena, and a big thankyou to our hosts. The commentary is absolutely brilliant, so creative. The Elias appears to be the only participant who died in the games, and if so all of Kaliphlin should rejoice. But appearances mean little with the Elias. We fear it is simply waiting, back in the desert... Quote
K.Kreations Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) Amazing contest Angelli and congrats to the winner. The different battles were awesome and random! I am quite proud of Victorim's performance and representation of the Mystic Forests. As for the demon armor..... I won it in a fair fight and have the scars to prove it. :) Can't wait for the next challenge! Edited February 15, 2012 by K.Kreations Quote
Gondabuggan Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) The Laborer's Union of Northern Mitgardia is most disappointed in the performance of "Leader" and have sworn that they will win next year! Thanks for hosting this and congratulations to Our victor!!! This was fun, and i hope we may organize such events in the future. And then maybe i will win. :3 Edited February 15, 2012 by Gondabuggan Quote
Niku Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 This was such a great event, at the end I was chearing both William and the Golem. I expect the elves as operators of the golem will return safely to its clan. And thanks for this great games. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 It appears that the Dwarven craftsmanship of this War Golem was magnificent, as advertised! The Elves will be investing in these for their army - although it might not have been wise of them to exhibit all the strengths and weaknesses of the Golem for the Drow.... What have they done! Now the Drow must surely know how to defeat these Automatons. The Elves have shown their hand, and the Drow will be prepared. The Elves must reconsider their plans... Great contest Angeli! I loved your descriptions for all of the fights. Thanks for putting in all the effort and supplying the loot. I was also impressed with the variety of contestants that entered. Happy Drow Valentine's Day? Quote
Angeli Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 This was such a great event, at the end I was chearing both William and the Golem. I expect the elves as operators of the golem will return safely to its clan. And thanks for this great games. Thank you, my dear friends ;) It is a pleasure to organize anything for such a rewarding crowd :) And, btw, no fatalities at all, Elias, did not die, "If you hit it, it simply dissolves into a swarm of scorpions, and then reforms". The gladiator that defeated him just, kept scorpions from merging in a bigger creature ;) When we let them out of the arena, they reformed in Elias again, but he was not happy, because he lost :) Didi you notice arena? ;) Quote
Fantu Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 (edited) ----> Now, all the elves would like to think that prince was faster then the arrows, but, unfortunately, he was not: before he managed to get close to the William, an arrow hit him in the leg, and crippled, he could not match Williams's speed, which was always one step away. I used to be a Gladiator, then I took an arrow to the knee... Thanks Angeli for this great contest! I'm hoping to see more of these games in the future! Edited February 16, 2012 by Fantu Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Hey I survived to round three that's good! Great work Urlan! And great presentation on your part Angeli. I can't wait to see more from you. Quote
Gabe Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 (edited) Haha, that was a hoot to read, thanks Angeli for hosting a most entertaining games! Phrixelle is well satisfied with her efforts, making it to the fourth round and losing only to the eventual winner. (Congrats rogueang!) Although it is interesting - Phrixelle beats Yvonnel in the 2nd round, the war golem beats Phrixelle in the 4th round, and then Yvonnel returns to kick over the emptied golem after the final rounds completion.. Swings and roundabouts, hey? We will certainly be giving Phrixelle a heroine's welcome on her return to Peregrinus - as well as a new suit of armour, of course! ps. Your gladiator arena was great btw - an innovative way of showing the defeated. Edited February 16, 2012 by gabe Quote
Mike S Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Awesome job Angeli! The battle captions kept me laughing... this contest was a blast. Hope I can participate next time.... Quote
Si-MOCs Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Lord of Drow, Thank you for your 'hospitality' and your the games! Quite the enjoyable adventure. Well done ser! Dammit, I knew I should have put a diaper on the monkey... Quote
Artanis I Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Although Arcanis I was busy attending the Valentine's Ball at the Kaliphlin Embassy in Abyssan, (and hooking up mind you) and his officers busy elsewhere, his charges were all pleased to see (we have our ways) our warrior Kargzaskzin so triumphant in the first round and resilient to the near end in the second. Congratulations to those that tasted victory, and the hosts who made plenty of profit from the business brought by the excellent tournament. One thing that I thought might help in future is to show the guild that each warrior belongs to, as it wasn't always obvious. Quote
Fred Daniel Yam Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I came second?! What is this sorcery??!! Still, I didn't win, too bad there weren't any runner-up prizes. Quote
Hersbrucker Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Great work!! Thank you Angeli Congratulation to the winner Quote
Fred Daniel Yam Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Re-read the battles and I had to say I loved the way William beat the Dream Walker. Quote
SirSven7 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Brilliant, this was such a fun read before I had to go to work (I was eating cornflakes), blasted LEON I knew He would fail me, he does a much better job when his oppentents are chained to tables and can't actually move. Thanks for doing this it was alot of fun. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 A fantastic days events with much spirited competition, congratulations to rogueang who has had the title of Lord of the Arena bestowed upon him. Now where did Grizzles get too, he has some explaining to do.... Well down Drow on hosting a marvelous event, I look forward to the next such competition. Quote
AK_Brickster Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 First, thanks to the Dark Mother for allowing the games to be hosted in her city. The arena was beautifully terrible, and I really enjoyed the commentary of each fight. Second, congratulations to the winner. What a devious thing to do, by hiding your elves inside of the golem! But hey, "anything goes"! Lastly, such foul luck that my necromancer managed to go up against the one contestant who was fireproof! Next time I will have to send a mage who knows more than one spell, I suppose! Thanks again for doing this. It was really fun! Quote
rucorder Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 *Sigh* I had strictly forbidden Sven from drinking and wenching the night before the games Great job Angeli, this was bunches of fun. Quote
de Gothia Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 (edited) So both finalists were Avalonians!? In Nocturnia and inside the Drow land?! That´s great news! And Angeli, you and your Drows are always welcome to great western plains to live with the champions!! Great idea with the contest Angeli! Edited February 16, 2012 by de Gothia Quote
Fat Tony Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Ha ha! Well played. At least Fundarr's beautiful golden locks remained intact, and he got to "meet" some lovely ladies. Quote
prvi svog imena Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 If the Drow say they've cheered for someone, it is only to see how long it takes for the poison to work. Our champion was killed long before entering the arena, now immortal, he will forever be our symbol of hate for the Drow. Quote
