MattTheLegoman Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Just two pictures of the old Megablocks Western. I remember I joined this forum when Klaus-Dieter posted this MOC Post Office and I instantly recognised the similarity. And I will show the insides of the buildings next week. Quote
CMP Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 And I will show the insides of the buildings next week. Er, why? I don't see much of a reason for this to be on a LEGO forum, but it should be in the Community forum anyway, I think. Quote
andhe Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Why's there a giant fox pulling the wagon? It's a shame TLG don't do their western stuff anymore. Quote
MattTheLegoman Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) Yes it is a shame. This Megablocks must be handled with care because it is very fragile. What about a change this dodgy topic into a conversion of the sets into LEGO? Edited January 20, 2012 by MattTheLegoman Quote
De Sandman Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 brrr.....megablocks , the horse seems a little small ay sorry, i don't like megablocks but i think you figured that out Quote
MattTheLegoman Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 I don't like em either partner... So I think a conversion should be in the works. Most pieces (like those Megablocks doors) have simply melted and warped in summer heat. All Megablocks people are ruined from normal play. And the sticker-haters can jab at it too, what with peeling stickers. But I still love the designs of the sets. sniff P.S. Does anyone get the Deadwood reference in the topic description? Quote
LegoBrickSteve Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Megablocks are lame. Lame like Ninjago. Quote
LEGOman273 Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Megablocks are lame. Lame like Ninjago. Seriously, you should stop trolling threads that you don't like, and post in those you do. And we all know that you hate Ninjago!! Please stop. Trolling is frowned upon here. Troll reported. Quote
Hinckley Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Megablock topics go in Community, not in our LEGO theme forums. Thank you. Quote
Shawn Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I know it is megablocks, but this set looks pretty nice. I have seen two other mega blocks sets that I like as well. The GT-40 and the Submarine are also quite impressive. The blocks are not nearly as nice though. This set does look really good. This one is probably pretty rare. I have never even seen one. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I'm not a MB supporter, but this is an interesting set. I'd much prefer to see it in Lego form though. I may have to steal some ideas and make them in Lego. I hope Lego re-introduces that Western theme. That was a lot of fun back in the day. Quote
Zeya Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I'm digging that curved piece on the cactus. I wonder if you could use that as some architectural styling on a building overhang or something like that. Quote
dr_spock Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 The buildings and roofs look similiar to the the recent MB Hello Kitty set. One piece walls and roof. Not much of a build challenge. MB is probably saving money by reusing the molds. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Did anyone noticed the green bottles look very similar to the trans-clear/smoke bottles Lego now use ? MB's problem is everything is mostly in big panel pieces, with plates, etc., just used to add trimmings....not much of challenge eh ? Quote
Omicron Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Those are some pretty sweet sets and pieces there. -Omi Quote
ZCerberus Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Haha! The horse is HILLLLLLLARIOUS!!!! Quote
MattTheLegoman Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 (edited) OK so this topic does need to be moved? I would love it if people stole these ideas. I have full instructions ready to scan and a headstart on the single peice base for the outlaw's cabin - rendered in LEGO it is many better bricks. :) But the problem is it would only be LDD for me at this stage. Colour of bricks is a problem my collection has. EDIT: Thanks for the move! Edited January 23, 2012 by MattTheLegoman Quote
Trent Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I bought a bulk lot off a friend ages ago, and it took me forever to sort out the clone brands from the Lego...and a lot of the Megablocks is this Western theme. It's a bit soul destroying because I love (and missed) the Western theme in Lego, but although the sets look ok built up in this photograph, the joy of Lego (for me) is the building...and even from the photograph, you can see that most of the buildings are large pieces stuck to other large pieces - which makes it more of a toy for children to play with rather than a toy to build with.
