Hinckley Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 ...Not that my agreement means anything to you, anyway. Can I take a moment to say it means so much? I'm starting to feel mean. I want everyone to have fun. This should be fun for everyone, except those brain-dead retarded loser cultists. You're one of the better strategists. That's why I have to push so hard. If you're lying, it's nearly impossible to tell. Things usually come out when I keep pestering you. Did I go too far? Do we need a hug?
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I wonder if those four torches mean anything significant? Has anyone tried to address him? It says "address him properly." Oh Great God IMHOTEP! Won't you smite these megablock Cultists and set the Campies free? Please? It's worth a shot. Funny that the activity here died down after my friends left. I was hoping to post the last line of the play after hearing more reactions from people. I'm not very good at waiting. Ossie and Is can attest to that. The watcher spies two figures crossing paths. They both know each other and they're on their way to do something. The last two remaining Scum? Is this why the desperate investigator ruse? Are there only two of them left? That's why there are four torches? Four Scum need to sacrifice four Virgins. Hmmmm... if there were only four to start with, they would definitely get a conversion. Or would they? Could it be they would only need to kill four Virgins? How would the game balance if there we only needed to kill four of them and they only needed to kill four of us? That's odd. I wonder if that would balance this wild premise out, though. out of 24 people, they need to find four of us and we need to find four of them... Hmmmmmmm..... Hmmmmmmmm... Hmmmmmmmmmm.... I've just thought of something! Eurobricks needs a "thinking" or "pensive" emoticon! Ah, nuts to this. Knowing him, he'll come by and reveal himself before I can end it my way. Nobody steals my dramatic thunder. And now the exciting conclusion of... Harriet the Super Sleuth and the Case of the Dueling Investigators Harriet the Super Slut: Isn't there any player with Pie in their name who isn't a Cultist? Popeye: Well blow me down! Harriet the Super Slut: Sure thing! Any other last requests? Popeye: Change your mind and believe my lies? Harriet the Super Slut: I always hated Popeye when I was a kid. It was one of the only cartoons I refused to watch. I called him Poopeye. You're a slippery little scumbag Cultist. Popeye: I yam what I yam. Yarg arg arg arg arg arg arg!
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I always get this wave of dread and doubt after I reveal someone, so I looked over my Popeye conversations once again, since he's now been outed. Other reasons I didn't believe him: 1. At first, he requested I not reveal that I had been found Innocent, because that made me a likely candidate for conversion. 2. He had some convoluted solution about having both investigators investigate the same person but putting the mirror cloak over the target and the true investigator would get the opposite result of the target's affiliation. That was just weird.
MagPiesRUs Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Well done, you've just outed the investigator. I'm useless now, there's no chance I'll be able to get any more investigative results from this point on, I'm either going to be blocked or killed in the nights ahead. The only results you're going to be getting now will be the BS ones from Bluto and Mehmet. It seems Mehmet left a very important part our conversation out: when I investigated Roger Goodenarde last night, he checked back as a Cultist. Since I confirmed that Mehmet himself was Innocent yesterday, I have no idea why he would leave this bit of info out, and I've literally hurt my brain trying to work it out. The only logical conclusion I can come to is that Mehmet must've been converted last night, and doesn't want to reveal one of his new team mates to you. Well, your plan's backfired Mehmet, and as soon as you lynch me today, the town's going to realise that I am in fact innocent, and that you, Roger, and Bluto are the remaining cultists. 1. At first, he requested I not reveal that I had been found Innocent, because that made me a likely candidate for conversion. ???? I never said anything of the sort. I told you I was a little reluctant to reveal to you that I was the investigator because you are a prime target for conversion. I never requested for you not to reveal the information. In fact, it was YOU who offered not to reveal my investigation result. I told you that I saw no harm in you revealing the information. Why would I do this if I wasn't the investigator and knew that Mr. Fitzwilliam's investigator was still out there (since only virgins had been killed at that point, no one with night actions)? It's clear at this point that you're just making BS up, so I'll stop talking now. It doesn't matter if I'm lynched at this point. Clearly the scum all know who I am at this point, so my investigative powers aren't going to be of any use. Obviously I'm not a virgin either, nor have I been particularly active in the day threads. So you have nothing to lose. But once I'm dead, there'll be plenty of people with some explaining to do. Please, go ahead and lynch me. Only then will you realise how much you're being played. Also, wasn't I supposed to be tracked last night? Perhaps the tracker can confirm that I did in fact investigate Goodenarde last night?
Cecilie Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Since I confirmed that Mehmet himself was Innocent yesterday, I have no idea why he would leave this bit of info out, and I've literally hurt my brain trying to work it out. Huh? That just made no sense. Why does your claimed result of him being Innocent make him trust you? If he believes you're lying, of course he'll leave such info out! as soon as you lynch me today, the town's going to realise that I am in fact innocent, and that you, Roger, and Bluto are the remaining cultists. Well, then lynching you gives us a lot of good answers then, either you're scum and lying, or we know who the remaining scum are tomorrow. Why would I do this if I wasn't the investigator and knew that Mr. Fitzwilliam's investigator was still out there (since only virgins had been killed at that point, no one with night actions)? Maybe you thought it would be easier for Mehmet to believe you if you claimed investigator first? Please, go ahead and lynch me. Only then will you realise how much you're being played. Ok
Professor Flitwick Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 It seems Mehmet left a very important part our conversation out: when I investigated Roger Goodenarde last night, he checked back as a Cultist. Since I confirmed that Mehmet himself was Innocent yesterday, I have no idea why he would leave this bit of info out, and I've literally hurt my brain trying to work it out. Bhaa-haa-haa! Why would he leave out something so obvious, that you would clearly bring up? Ackbar, you can back me up here. How, when I told you my results, if I were the cultist Ms. Swallocks claims, would I have known who is and isn't a virgin?
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 How, when I told you my results, if I were the cultist Ms. Swallocks claims, would I have known who is and isn't a virgin? The cultists could have a Virgin Cop. They are the ones looking for them after all. Just saying. And you could both be scum. This could be Betty's last ditch attempt to clear you before she dies. It's a good strategy for scum. She comes out and says you're scum, we lynch her and she's revealed to be scum. Then we all assume you're innocent since she had to be lying to us. A bold strategy for sure, but not any more bold than claiming investigator to a trusted townie and trying to get information while hoping the real investigator never comes forward.
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 It seems Mehmet left a very important part our conversation out: when I investigated Roger Goodenarde last night, he checked back as a Cultist. Flitwick is Innocent. megablock Cultists. Just kidding. I love you. I'm kidding that he's a megablock, mind you. I don't want to be mean to him just because he's lying. He actually told me he found Flitwick Innocent, so we can add that to his list of lies. Thanks Betty! I feel better about outing you now, since you're blatantly lying. And no, the way the Scum have been playing, they're not worried about investigators. You won't be blocked or killed by them anyway. You'll be lynched by us, so take comfort. ???? I never said anything of the sort. I told you I was a little reluctant to reveal to you that I was the investigator because you are a prime target for conversion. Yes, I'm the investigator. I investigated you again last night, and you checked back Innocent this time. I'm still a little concerned about revealing this, as I understand you'd be the first person the scum would want to convert (although I'm beginning to doubt they can, due to the whole virgin thing - if they convert a virgin, there's one less virgin on the table to sacrifice, and they'll be less likely to achieve their goal). That tickled my scumdar. That's all I'm saying.
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Why would Betty tell Mehmet that Roger was Innocent one minute then claim Roger was a Cultist the next? Which does she want us to believe?
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I just composed an entire play explaining something and some megablocks reset our server. I'm so irritated right now. Why would I do this if I wasn't the investigator and knew that Mr. Fitzwilliam's investigator was still out there (since only virgins had been killed at that point, no one with night actions)? It was a huge risk to take, yes. I was desperately asking for the investigator to contact me in the day thread and I had also said that I hadn't revealed the aliases to anyone. Then I asked you point blank if you were the investigator. Perhaps it was a whim, perhaps you decided quickly to make a bold move. Maybe all you needed was one name of someone I wanted investigated and a reason. Perhaps it was someone who had claimed Virgin. Maybe you could tell just by that who a Virgin was. Maybe you thought I would spill everything to you and you could potentially get the whole list of roles and aliases. I was ready to! It's hard when you can't reveal things to your closest allies. It's hard when you're giving your closest allies a little misinformation, stories with aliases and quite frankly, a lot of suspicion and sometimes harsh accusation. And wouldn't I automatically trust the person who def trusted? Perhaps you were running the risk that I would automatically trust you and spill a lot of secrets before the other investigator had gotten to me. Or maybe you thought the investigator just didn't trust me enough and it was an easy way to get in. Maybe you though if the investigator didn't trust me, they would think I was lying when I said I was in contact with you. It would've been a risky and bold move, but I wouldn't put that past you. You may lose on Scum at the end of it, but you'd have the entire list of aliases and roles. Luckily, I didn't give you anything.
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 It seems Mehmet left a very important part our conversation out: when I investigated Roger Goodenarde last night, he checked back as a Cultist. Please, go ahead and lynch me. Only then will you realise how much you're being played. I can see what she's planning here, so I'll do my best to nip it in the bud. Betty is going to try to get you to believe that she told me Roger was a Cultist. She's going to try to get you to believe that I'm lying. Let me re-write the megablocking play I just wrote explaining why I trust Roger. I know, it's easy to be suspicious of him and that a lot of people are because the Scum could have a Virgin Cop, but this is my experience with him so far: Trusting Good and Hard Wylie Coyote: I don't trust Patrick. Harriet the Slut: That's silly. He's dead. Why would you not trust a dead person? Wylie Coyote: But it's only Day 2! Harriet the Slut: Oh! A flashback! How fancy! We're professionals now! Wylie Coyote: I claimed my Virginity to him and he didn't care! Harriet the Slut: It's OK, dear. He's probably not into coyotes. Scene 2 Roger: Bwaa haa haa! Eh-what? Jolly-O! Long Live the Queen. Cheery-Cheery-Pip-Pip-O! Eh-what? Harriet the Slut: Hello. Roger: Harriet my dear, I have investigated Wylie Coyote and he is a Virgin! Pip pip! Jolly! Big Ben! Harriet the Slut: Since I've forgotten my conversation I had on Day 2 with Wylie, why on Earth would you choose him as a target! Didn't we have more obvious targets? Roger: Simple logic, my dear, dictates that I did not follow an obvious lead because you asked me not to. Harriet the Slut: Oh right, that's true. But you said you were going to discuss it with your associates when you said you weren't talking to anyone in the day thread. Roger: Pip-pip Jolly paranoid lass. I told you I was discussing it with my associate. Singular, not plural, dear! There's a difference, you know! My associate was the dearly departed Patrick. Harriet the Slut: A truer Townie, there never was. Roger: Quite true! Everyone knew I was talking to him. When I said I would talk to nobody I simply meant I would not shout out in the day thread who I had found to be pure lest those vile megablock Cultists would hear tell! Wylie Coyote had claimed to Patrick that he was a virgin, or a pollywoggle as we call them in England, on Day One shortly after his revelation that he was one. He thought it was wise to verify him. Harriet the Slut: That makes total sense. Roger: Now why, old girl, did you ask me not to target Little Orphan Annie that night? Harriet the Slut: Old? Roger: Pip pip lassie! It's just a saying like "boot" or "lift" or "Prince William." Harriet the Slut: Well, I don't want the Scum to hear this part, so I'll whisper it to you. (Harriet whispers to Roger) Roger: Oh my, really! ... Bwaaahaaa haaahaa! ... Eh-what? ... Oh jolly good show, old girl! ... Really? Pip-pip! ... Fish & Chips!! Harriet the Slut: Amazing, isn't it? Roger: I should certainly say so! Harriet the Slut: And thanks for your help with that thing last night. Roger: Any time my dear, that was quite fun! It proved to be quite a load of strategy and the like. Pip-pip jolly! The End So, you see. There's good reason to trust Roger. Good reason, backed with evidence. What will Betty Swallocks have to say against me or him today? Nothing but lies. Is it time to vote yet? megablock Cultists. And yet I still love them! As players and people not as megablock Cultists, though.
Cecilie Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I don't see any reason not to trust Mehmet at this point, and Betty's story just doesn't add up. I know where my vote is going
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 So you think Betty is just trying to confuse us about Roger? Or that he thought you'd believe him that Roger was Innocent until he realized you didn't believe his story at all and is now trying to deflect suspicion onto Roger?
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 So you think Betty is just trying to confuse us about Roger? Or that he thought you'd believe him that Roger was Innocent until he realized you didn't believe his story at all and is now trying to deflect suspicion onto Roger? Look forward to what her strategy is: She tells me via Kicked Pigeon Message that Roger is Innocent. She then tells all of you that she found him to be a Cultist. She's going to try and survive by attempting to convince you guys that I'm lying about a true investigation result (which is actually a false result, since she's not a true townie investigator). She knows you all trust me so she's banking on the hopes that you'll think I was converted last night. She's already planted the seeds and she's going to attempt that defense today. At least she's attempting a defense! Not like Bonerhead. He just rolled over and got encased in carbonite. But, it would be pretty hard to convert me when I was wearing a mirrored cloak that deflects all Night Actions, wouldn't it? Nice try, Betty. I think I've proven myself trustworthy enough and Betty's defense will fall on deaf and Innocent Campie ears. I know that you will all be more than satisfied with the Cultist result we'll get after lynching Betty. IMHOTEP will not like the taste since she is corrupted, but we're not crazy about keeping him happy now, are we?
fhomess Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 It sounds to me like Betty is simply trying to find someone else to cast suspicion on who hasn't yet been proven. Taking a swing at Roger, who has not wanted to share his results publicly is a good gamble. He's been called out a few times in each of the past few days for not having revealed who he confirmed. However, it sounds like Mehmet now has enough evidence to trust Roger. So really, this is just a question of who do we trust more: Mehmet or Betty. I don't see any reason not to lean towards Mehmet as being the more trustworthy of the two at this point.
Tamamono Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 It seems Mehmet left a very important part our conversation out: when I investigated Roger Goodenarde last night, he checked back as a Cultist. Well, your plan's backfired Mehmet, and as soon as you lynch me today, the town's going to realise that I am in fact innocent, and that you, Roger, and Bluto are the remaining cultists. You are, like you said before, completely useless to us. If you really are an investigator, then you won't be of any good at night anymore because you've revealed yourself in-thread, and you're not a virgin, so there's really no reason not to lynch you. Plus, you are quiet and sheep-like in the day threads, and that kind of behavior is detrimental to the town. We have no reason to believe you. Your Popeye investigator claim was fishy yesterday, and it's just blatantly scummy today. If Mehmet really was converted, then we can lynch him tomorrow if you turn up innocent, and it is highly unlikely that you will. Lynching Mehmet today would have disastrous results if he's town, while lynching you if you're town isn't quite as bad. In any case, your defense reeks of scum. There's no way you're town. Have fun being Imhotep's dinner! Well, that makes today's lynch even easier! I can't believe she would pull something like that.
Bob Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Well, I'm hoping we'll be able to go for three today. Mehmet hasn't steered us wrong yet, and I don't think he's going to steer us wrong today either.
Scubacarrot Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Well, I'm hoping we'll be able to go for three today. Mehmet hasn't steered us wrong yet, and I don't think he's going to steer us wrong today either. Have you forgotten Father Tomato, Mr Hans? Are you trying to look innocent by following the most logical option, or are you suffering from memory loss?
Bob Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Have you forgotten Father Tomato, Mr Hans? Are you trying to look innocent by following the most logical option, or are you suffering from memory loss? I wasn't here on Day One and must not have read closely enough must have forgotten. I'm not sure why you're calling me out over every folly I might make.
Scubacarrot Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I wasn't here on Day One and must not have read closely enough must have forgotten. I'm not sure why you're calling me out over every folly I might make. Maybe because I dont trust you?
Bob Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Maybe because I dont trust you? Well, I'm not sure what I've done to earn your mistrust, but I assume it's probably when I called you out yesterday as one of my suspects, which really isn't very shocking.
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Well, I'm hoping we'll be able to go for three today. Mehmet hasn't steered us wrong yet, and I don't think he's going to steer us wrong today either. Well there was the Father Tomato incident, but thank you for forgetting that. Have you forgotten Father Tomato, Mr Hans? Are you trying to look innocent by following the most logical option, or are you suffering from memory loss? I see you haven't forgotten. I'm sorry. I wasn't here on Day One and must not have read closely enough must have forgotten. I'm not sure why you're calling me out over every folly I might make. Well, you barely stop by and are evasive and defensive in private. Just like Nadir Zenith, who just answered my simple question much like Bonerhead did... I appreciate Mr. Zenith's earlier dedication to helping the Town. But once suspicion seemed to fall off of him, he just slid back into the woodwork...or stonework as it were.
Scubacarrot Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Well, I'm not sure what I've done to earn your mistrust, but I assume it's probably when I called you out yesterday as one of my suspects, which really isn't very shocking. You misassume, you seem a bit overly defensive... Fact is, I dont trust you, which means I am not sure if you are town or not, I am not accusing you. The reason I mistrust you is simple, you havent done anything to EARN my trust. I am not sure why you would bring up that I am one of your suspects, it seems beside the point, mistrusting someone for saying they dont trust you, is stupid and sounds like something a scum would use as a tactic.(Yeah, leading the vote on a scum makes me super suspicious , but that was later, I guess) I am just throwing it out there, I know you came late into the game, but still..., I said it yesterday as well, perhaps you should read back a little better...
JimBee Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I appreciate Mr. Zenith's earlier dedication to helping the Town. But once suspicion seemed to fall off of him, he just slid back into the woodwork...or stonework as it were. I'm here! *waves* I've just woken up from my nap. It's obvious who we have to lynch today regardless of who to believe. If we lynch Mehmet or Goodenharde, we won't get as much information as we would with Betty. Either way she's doomed, so that is where my vote is going today. I've been suspicious of her passiveness since Day 1, but that could mean anything. Other than that, I have nothing else to offer besides my support. Sorry.
Hinckley Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Quick paraphrase: Me: I have to make sure your Night Action doesn't interfere with the plans we're making. What can you do at night? Cultist: I did not perform a night action last night. Me: That's not what I asked you. *********** *I love when the reactions are so defensive. This was the next message: It's all you need to know. Despite your role as town coordinator, I still don't trust you. Yes, you take this place in every game, but I know you're just as likely to be scum. I've learned that much from BBII. All that's important right now is that I had nothing to do with anything last night (that I'm aware of). If I was a Cultist, I would just claim Virgin and not make a big deal out of it. But I refuse to tell you anything else, and I refuse to be part of your inner circle. So there. I just thought I'd respond to this here. I like to keep open communication with people. It lets the whole Camp know what's happening. I didn't take this role. People came to me because they found my actions trutsworthy. I'm clearly getting results. Betty Swallocks is lying through her teeth. Why would I backup the last two lynches with solid evidence from private communication and then expose another liar if I was Scum? Whoever sent me this message, you better know your mistrust of me, at this point, is Scummy. Yes, it's me and I had the town coordinator role in one hole in the desert and I tried to make it work in another hole in the desert where I was Scum and some people trusted me anyway, whatever any of that nonsense means. But when I was Scum, my lies were quickly exposed. I couldn't maintain it. It's not possible. I've been verified. Both investigators, the real and fake one, came forward with the utmost conviction that I was Innocent. How can you still doubt it? It doesn't matter that it's me, what matters is the evidence that keeps coming forward. For God's sake, you can see I was mooning the Cultists last night! Why didn't they just kill me when I was mooning them and jamming to Led Zeppelin? Because I was covered in a mirrored cloak, making it impossible to see me, let alone convert me. Your mistrust of me makes me even more suspicious of you. How can you follow along and still find me suspect? Not because I, Hinckley, find myself infallible, but because the character Mehmet Attabar has verifiable proof that he has been telling the truth all along. Three Cultists in a row, with the help of Patrick, Meleflous, Shack Attack and others' tireless efforts for the Camp. Where were you? You pledged to help, but then slid right back under the radar. Cultists are losers. If you have a one-shot repent action, I would use it now. So there.
