Hinckley Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 85% of people know that, but the other 30% aren't good at maths. *Stop it. This thread is closed. Stupid staffer Silly noob Goofy Walrus. *
Hinckley Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 Another challenge was complete and three were chosen to find clues. Chris Own is digging around in the dead shark's mouth to see if he can find any more weapon's in the sea mammal's anatomy. Meanwhile, Diesel Nolan continues his assault on the statues while Samantha Cole lends a hand. "The first half of this tour was much darker and more ominous," Siegourney complains, "Where's the adventure? What's with the cute toys and animals? Why am I no longer a lesbian?" "Who cares, let's do the nasty again." Sheldon Wills suggests. Everyone else decides to take a break and enjoy the crystal clear and calming waters of the bath. Despite the odd goings-on, this is a beautiful and peaceful part of the temple. The goofy monk appears again. "What you should know about this puddle of blood," he says, "is that it once belonged to a person in this room." Again, the monk snaps his fingers and a voice fills the air. It is the voice of their tour guide Johnson Willoughby. It sounds like a snippet from his speech during the tour. "...In 1965, the French government transferred the responsibility of most of the islands to the newly founded Guiana Space Centre. The islands are under the trajectory of the space rockets launched eastward, toward the sea, from the Centre (to geostationary orbit). They must be evacuated during each launch. The islands host a variety of measurement apparatus for space launches. The CNES space agency, in association with other agencies, has since had the historical monuments restored. Tourism facilities were added; the islands now welcome more than 50,000 tourists each year.” The Ruins of the Phasma Diabolus temple are, of course, outshined by the horrors committed by the French government. However, the rumors of escaped convicts who were never heard from again lead to some of the unquieting rumors that an evil lurks in the ruins and the surrounding jungle. Legend says that an ancient race of humans built the temples to worship a God they discovered living on the island. They referred to this God as Lucidus Animus. Lucidus Animus had considerable power and the land he inhabited had powerful energy, physics defying properties, and healing powers. As many stories of good energy go, there was also an evil energy on the island that oftentimes warred with the Lucidus Animus. The evil spirit was referred to as Vaccuus. Vaccuus’s power was so great, it eventually overpowered the influence of the Lucidus Animus. A small sect of the tribe broke off from the main tribe and began to use the temple to worship Vaccuus. They killed many of the followers of the good spirit and began referring to the temple as Phasma Diabolus or Demon Spirit. The followers of the Vaccuus were apparently dragged to the underworld by the demon spirit and never heard from again. The temple quickly fell into disrepair as people avoided the site. The followers of Lucidus Animus returned to the temple to bless it and hopefully lock the doors Vaccuus had opened to the Netherworld. However, rumors of strange evil creatures and “shadow people” roaming the jungles kept people from returning to the island and re-inhabiting the beautiful temple until the French opened their penal colony centuries later. Legend says that Vaccuus drew his power from the moon and was most powerful when the Moon was least influenced by the power of the sun, fully blocked by the Earth during a lunar eclipse. Whenever there is a full lunar eclipse over Devil’s Island strange noises and shapes are reported in the jungle surrounding the ruins. Since the red moon casts no different shadow, there is no known explanation for these reports. Legend also says that to resurrect Vaccuus to the surface and harnass his power, you must contact him during the full lunar eclipse..." "If 11 people participate in tomorrow's challenge, I will give you all another clue," The monk begins as white light once again begins to fill the room, "Now you may see what has brought this to be."
