thire5 Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 (edited) Hello, my new MOC is ARC-170 starfighter from Episode III. It's my favorite ship and like Venator it's one of my "dream MOCs". Dimensions: 95 x 60 x 30 cm flickr Brickshelf BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS !!!!! >>> see this post <<< I hope you like it ! Edited April 30, 2021 by thire5 fixed links Quote
Rook Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 (edited) Certainly do! The attention to detail makes this more than pleasing to admire. Edited January 25, 2012 by Rook Quote
TLOR FETT Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 That thing is gorgeous. The detail in it is great. Quote
Masked Builder Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 I didn't realize you had a Eurobricks. I blogged it last night when I saw it on Flickr. Nice work on those great curves in the body. Quote
Anio Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Great work ! You captured the shape of the ship very very well. I'm not a big fan of the SNOT wings, though. Do you plan to share more photos to see how it is built ? The ARC is on my todo list too. Many times I thought how I could build it. At the moment, I don't have the solution yet, given that I want to includ mechanism for the wings. I will certainly use your work when I do my own ARC. Quote
Dapper-D2 Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 This is incredible! And after seeing some of your other builds, I must say you have some mad skills! Quote

They make the wings smoother than if they were plates. Quote
mortesv Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Really nice, and very ambitious - this would make a great UCS - I think your effort could easily compete with Lego's latest prequel-trilogi UCS model What is the approx brick count? I don't mind the snot wings - although one could argue they are bit thick, I do think they are better than the alternative - nicely done! @Anio - can't wait to see your take on this Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Beautiful work. Of course, I love the SNOT wings, but my favorite part is the little portion of the fuselage scooped out near the front of the engines. That part is absolutely perfect, and it makes the nose transition so well to the rest of the ship. Quote
Hollander Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Beautiful! Star Wars MOC's rarely get any better than this, if you ask me. When I first saw your creation, I didn't realize how big it actually was. Awesome job anyway. Quote
Mr Man Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 I hope you like it ! Do I? It's absolutely fantastic , the detail on it is fantastic thire5, I especial love the nose and engine pieces. Quote
Aeroeza Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Holy crap! This is a stunning MOC. In fact its a bloody tease. Remove it from this site at once so as I have a chance to clean up my drool!! Quote
marshal_banana Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 (edited) Wow, stellar build. I love every bit of it! Can you fold the wings? Edited January 25, 2012 by marshal_banana Quote
KimT Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 This is so goddam close to perfect. I'd hire you in an iffy if I was head of TLG's Star Wars designers Good job as usual. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 bwah! It looks fantastic! I <3 the wings, theylook sooo clean cut! and the body is done so well too! great job =D Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 This is a wonderful MOC! Another masterpiece like the terminator's head! Quote
DFOL Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 My jaw just dropped to the floor, this is a stunning model of the ARC-170! I can't say there is one part i like best, because it's all deliciously good. The SNOT-ed wings don't bother me at all. The wings aren't even that thick considering the sheer size of the model, and i doubt that any plated alternative would look more smooth and elegant. Quote
JackJonespaw Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Quite nice! I love the detailing on the wings! Quote
Brickmamba Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Wow man that is one sexy build, those wings really look the part, solid and smooth, great work! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Undoubtedly the best ARC-170 MOC I've laid my eyes on! I've always been a fan of this ship, and the attention to detail of this UCS creation is simply superb! I could recognize how even the smallest of detailing is very accurate to the reference material, a testament of not only your building expertise but how well-researched your planning is and of course the execution in real bricks is even much better. Excellent work man! Though out of curiosity, any rough estimate how mayn parts did you use in this MOC? Quote
Oxus Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Incredible! I can only imagine how many concepts you went through before the final product. Quote
Ceroknight Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Absolutely brilliant! Fantastic attention on detail, and overall sleekness makes this an amazing copy of the real thing Quote
