Well, I'm glad to see we finally got an image. Hopefully, it's only a matter of time until we get more information. I'm also excited to see it's a pirate, that was definitely on my list.

I may a bit be like swimming against the tide, but while I like the idea of a pirate captain, it seems a little cheap to me. I absolutely like the golden cutlass, but for the rest it seems something "already seen".

Thanks for that picture! I was also expecting to get a pirate fig in a series soon. That one looks great, the sword and hook will probably be metallic or pearl gold, but I am hoping for chrome.

Yeah, Hook came to mind mind as well! Im glad such a torso was finally made.

Otherwise, im not too psyched about the golden cutlass, hook or skull on the hat. I just see no point for them to be golden.

Lego has done such a great job keeping these hidden, that first, this is the longest we've waited for pics of figs, and it's the first time that we get to see only ONE SINGLE FIGURE on our first peek.

Looks great. I'm SO hyped about September. I'll begin college at the same time when all these amazing sets are released. Just to remind me that I'm now on a very constrained budget ...

It has an orange circle as the background, just like the Pirate. It also seems to have a possible hairpiece and rod, spear, or sword. It looks blacked-out, so maybe it's a teaser image.

Sorry to vanish your fantasies, but usually on Lego Magazine, they show three teasers of three different things. So the circle down is not related to minifigures.

Finally, a collectible minifigure pirate. :moar:

I was hoping when we saw a pirate that it wouldn't be a pirate captain, because I already have one of those, but still, pretty excellent.

They don't often have a collectible minifigure in a staple theme like this without some kind of complimentary figure(s), so hopefully within a couple more series they'll give us a bluecoat soldier or something.

Seriously, Lego, it took eight series to give us any pirate figures?

It's the first pirate or pirate-related figure in the CMFs, and there's not too many pirate minifigures that weren't already covered over the last few years with the 09 Pirates theme and PotC. I think it's unique enough to be worthy of getting.

Anyway, finally we know what one of the figures is! Now for the other fifteen... It would actually be kind of cool, and more excitement-building, if we only found out what the rest are one or two at a time over the next couple of weeks. LEGO has definitely kept this series a secret very well... it only makes me more excited for it and wondering what other awesome figures are in it!

A Pirate Captain! I was right in the Guessing Thread!

At last, new pirate figure with new great torso for XVII-XVIII centuries MOCs!

His face is something like Evil Dvarf's one, but I like the golden cutlass piece, though I hate this skull, even golden print!

I also wanted a Pirate Captain, but this is a bit disappointing to me. I mean, I would have welcomed a new beard mould (or at least using Gandalf's but in black! It would have been perfect) or an epaulette with a stud so that you can finally put the parrot on it... this one seems a little "old" to me. No new molds, the only thing that sounds "new" are the golden cutlass and the printed torso. Not a super-wanted from me, I will get the usual 3 or 4.

Even though Playmobil is clearly following in LEGOs footsteps on this, it's not like LEGO invented blind-bagged collectable figures. I see no problem with this.

So it seems that after this picture no other will follow fastly. Arrgh! We have still two months and a half. Retailer catalogue's pictures will come very soon, so we won't have to wait in September... but come ON! I need this list to identify the game winner. Whoever has said PIRATE has already 1 point. Many did!

Nice torso and head, but I have to admit that I think the fig could have been better. We have waited for seven long series without a single pirate fig, so this one should have been a bit more special. The hat with golden logo looks just bad, and I'm not hooked on the golden hook either. A new parrot (mold or recolour) could still more than redeem this figure, but surely it would be shown in the picture if such a thing would be included?

I somewhat agree that I wish there were more to the pirates. I too was really hoping for something NEW like new molded weapons or something. And was also hoping for something other than a pirate captain since (like others said) we have so many of them. But regardless the figure looks amazing and I'll definitely be buying as many as possible for interesting torso and just cause I'm a huge pirates fan!
