natelite Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] Saw your blog. Btw the conquistador helmet is metallic gold not pearl gold. Which means the base is tan, and is sprayed metallic gold. Quote
Brickmamba Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Series 8 looks pretty good, there are some nice figs in there but I reckon 7 is still the series for this year Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Checked my local TRU this morning... No dice. East Coast USA. Quote
fred67 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 They had two boxes out at my local TRU (Charleston, South Carolina) ... Checked my local TRU this morning... No dice. East Coast USA. Yeah... you'll have to be more specific. The East Coast has a lot of states on it. FWIW, I haven't seen them in GA, but then I haven't looked in the past week or so. I was at Target yesterday and did not see them. I don't know what happens when TRU releases them early - TRU tends to do that, but even individual stores might be more apt to do it - or more error prone, seeing as how they don't violate the rules when it comes to releasing video games early. I guess they know they won't be sued by LEGO for releasing early, though. Quote
HawkLord Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Around here (WA) Series 7 hit Fred Meyers stores first and then made their way to TRU, Target, and Walmart. From personal experience with other toy lines, certain stores tend to get "hot" at different times. Last series, Freddies was the hot store, this time it looks like it might be TRU, since they're the only store reporting in right now. I haven't seen any Series 8 this past weekend. Most area TRUs are still sitting on Series 7 with some Series 6 mixed in. Most Targets and Walmarts are out of Series 7. This could mean nothing or it could mean their next orders are going to be for Series 8. Quote
Fighter of Frizzies Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 TRU in Manchester CT has 'em, though as usual the TRU tax is a buzz kill so I left empty-handed. Not sure if this would be an inappropriate place to mention that I have a number of minifigures from the last 2 series for trade if anyone has any extras to unload. Quote

Dunjohn Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Breakdown looks largely along the lines we'd been expecting, though I am glad to see my favourite - the DJ - is a 5-of. There's nothing in this series I plan to army so the set'll do me. Quote
streifen Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 only 3 Lederhosen guys? Looks like I got to hunt (read: feel) for more. Quote

There is a dedicated thread for trading minifigs here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52683&st=120#entry1330818. If you see my post i got quite a few figures i want to trade. fernlagoon Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I can't wait for the Conquisador and Pirate Captain to come out...I am stuck debating whether to A. Just buy them on ebay or some other secondary market, and likely spend 4 times the face value of each one to get them, or just buy 10 packages to start and hope at least one is one of the two....then just sell the others on ebay!!! Glad that the DJ is in the fives though. And it's nice to know I've got a good chanc at picking up the conquistador too. Quote

In the past, I've seen some pretty good prices on auctions that include a whole series. Just may take a little patience since this series is so hot right now (and then not waiting too long for the price to rise once the series becomes scarce). Quote
MikeyB Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 went back to my TRU after finding two cases there on Saturday. Today there was one case with less than ten packets in it. I had a $5 off coupon and bought three packets, the liederhosen guy, the DJ and another Man bat( I do use the feel method for ID and has been pretty successful) Quote
C A Rotwang Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I picked up seven different ones at my local TRU today. Looks like they got two boxes. none of them have back printing, unless you count the football players armor. I wonder if any of them have back printing. Quote

Can anybody from the NW (Everett area) tell me if any TRU's have these. Anywhere? Quote
HawkLord Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 The diver does. Can anybody from the NW (Everett area) tell me if any TRU's have these. Anywhere? I can tell you that Lynnwood, Everett, and Tacoma TRUs do not have these. Might be worth trying Freddies this weekend. Given that Series 8 seems to have less army-builder types, I'm not worried about this set at all. In fact, I might just make one last run on Series 7... Quote

I just visited Lynnwood today and tried using the $5 coupon they had. It was a no go. MicroJow Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I had the opportunity to open a full, brand-new, still sealed box of Series 8 today. I can confirm the contents as being: Robot - 5 Conquistador- 4 Bavarian - 3 Cowgirl - 4 Football Player - 4 Diver - 3 Skier - 3 Trade - 3 Fairy - 3 Santa - 4 Man Bat - 4 DJ - 5 Cheerleader - 4 Thespian - 3 Pirate - 5 Alien - 3 Here's the order they were in the box. From my experience, the boxes come packed the same, so perhaps this will help you locate the figures you want (this only works if you are accessing a box that has not yet been rooted through.)
